What up guys. I wanted to clarify that my statements/responses to “rumors” were in no way related to what Jake and Opossum said in their videos. Watching it back, I can see where there may be a little confusion. If anything, I agreed with a lot of their points. Just wanted to clear that up.

I think your made genuine brother and would in no way see Nick , You , Ryan, Danny along with many others ever weighing packs and trying to scam the fans. 1st what would be the point as you said and second your one of the most genuine, down to earth people and probably everyday life you aren't different than you are on video.Also if people wanna think so badly about a youtuber creator then dont watch too many people will feel some type of way about a creator then they post or stalk them. That effing nuts, but SO HAPPY FOR YOU 90K SUBS LETTTTTS EFFFFFFFFING GOOOOOOOO I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU DUDE. Also I only named those Creators because they were the one first to come to mind i've purchased products from Many Other Creator's That Are Just As Good As Vaults or Revs OR Danny's are. Also remember having haters means your doing something right, Jealousy turns to Envy and then HATE. Its sad too cuz its all about always putting out Positivity and Then You Get More Back In Return .The negative people are just gonna hurt themselves and everyone's minds are souls around them because Negativity is like a fungus and it spreads to everything around its source. Mystery packs are a gamble, just like opening packs in general. For people to argue “is it worth it” based on value, or attack the individual that made it after they did poorly on them is honestly embarrassing. The individual took the risk with their own money, so they understood going into it what could potentially occur. Most people will attack and target creators that make these but then go ahead and throw local stores 3x MSRP for packs, etb’s, etc. It’s ironic how they don’t make videos attacking big businesses or local card stores but will go after creators because god forbid they didn’t get a god pack in their opening. Also, these big hit packs in mystery boxes have terrible hit rates to begin with. If you open a mystery pack, get a vintage pack, and are stupid enough to open it thinking you’ll win the gamble twice and get the chase, that’s on you when you don’t. Odds aren’t great for older sets, so understand that. Bottom line, if people are gonna attack you, Rev, and any other creators for mystery packs. Why aren’t they attacking big businesses getting product at 60-70% below msrp and hitting it with a huge markup? Why aren’t they taking accountability for how they decided to spend their own money, especially if they don’t win the gamble? Why don’t they realize if people wanna spend their money that way, let them. Pokémon community is wild, they like to target and attack individuals after they do bad but never take a look in the mirror and blame themselves for taking a gamble in the first place.

@@nativeretrospective6931 there’s my point, instead of acknowledging your statements are flawed and have no real basis in your response beyond “because I know you’re all scamming” is the type of delusion behavior that prevents people from actually having decent conversations in this community. Lemme give you one example, I personally give away thousands of dollars in product weekly, I give away free cards worth $10-20 when people have bad odds on packs or luck with openings. I give people who are watching and don’t buy a single thing on my streams a chance to win expensive cards or get involved in free giveaways. All of this I don’t have to do. Nor does anyone else in this space. Vault, Rev, and many others included. We do it because we love the hobby, we love making something we have passion for a business or a job, and we do it in the most logical but beneficial way for ourselves and our communities. Now try and answer me this question, what have you done for the community besides throw baseless claims and slander towards individuals? Looking forward to your response, I’m sure it will be well thought out and logical.

From personal experience, I do not think that mystery packs are a scam. I've gotten Revs packs twice now, 2 of ea and I got Green/Gold, Green/Silver. I've tried UnlistedLeaf and gotten Gold/Silver and I got a heavy Fossil pack that actually had a holo. I was very excited for yours and even though I got Black/Black doesn't change my opinion of you or the packs in general, I would buy them again. I can see why people would think packs could be weighed but I tend to think positive rather than negative. I like taking chances and the randomness about it. Obvious I don't know any of you personally but the vibe that you all bring gives me confidence to buy your product. There are mystery products out there that I don't trust and wouldn't ever buy. The comparison videos for mystery packs strike me as somewhat odd. At its core, they are a form of gambling. It's like purchasing five different scratch-off tickets and questioning, "Which one holds more value?". It's essentially a game of chance but as long as you buy from a trusted source, the probability is transparent.

I think ive opened 10 Pokerev packs, and pulled a gold, silver, and red out of the lot. The gold had a mysterious treasures pack with a holo inside. Id also say that if you look at Pokerev's viewership, and the reasonable type of guy he is, why would it be worth it for him to put his finger on the scale and compromise all of that for a side hustle at best? Doesnt make sense.

I think people need to remember two things. 1. This is fun content and opening packs in general is gambling. Mystery packs at least give you a shot of affording something potentially out of reach. That’s why we watch. 2. This is a business and people need to make a profit in order for it to be sustainable. Thanks to you, Nick and Ryan for your effort put into the content. Truly appreciate you guys

It seems people forget that mystery packs arent for people to get their money or make money. They are like a lottery ticket and you are hoping that you are the 1 out of whatever number. If you can afford the risk and want that chance to gamble at hitting big then go for it. Otherwise go out and buy what you want. As long as whomever makes the packs is transparent you cant get mad at them for not getting something. That would be like getting mad at the lottery for not selling you a winning ticket. These are to be fun products so lets just have fun with them people.

I try to tell people all the time on facebook groups the same thing. And you're right, once something's out there it seems to just explode and then you have something that's false just all over the internet. Another thing I wanted to point out that I'll call out in my video once I open yours, just to protect yourself from chargebacks, disputes, and hopefully no suites, I'm going to recommend changing the percentages into different wording. Whereas rev says minimum guarantee for green, looking at the front of your package one could stipulate or construed that there should be always a green 100% in there and then there's on top of that 20% 10% 5% and 2% possibility. Cuz when you talk in terms of percentages 100 is the max however then it should say then 63% chance for black, 20% for red, 10% for silver, 5% for purple, and 2% for God.

I've watched every Poke Rev video for over 3 years. He's never trashed a youtubers mystery packs. He 100% trashes MJ holdings and some other companies that don't show pull rates, but he's still fair. I've gotten 12 Rev packs and pulled a silver, gold, and 4 or 5 reds. I also seriously doubt he's weighing them also.

You have to 1. Be able to afford it 2. Understand the odds 3. Be realistic about what the product is offering. The chances of hitting an expensive pack are low but if you like doing it for the fun of it then cool. Its not like yourself or PokeRev are hitting top tier packs everytime you open your own mystery packs. If you were really trying to scam people, especially younger people you would make it look like your hitting big more times than not. Mystery packs are what they advertise...a mystery, atleast Poketuber packs let you know what you can get, most mystery products slap base set on the image, say 'look for the chase pack' then dont say what the chase pack is and give nothing but recent packs at an extremely high markup.

my problem with mystery boxes/packs will always be that they are made to pay off for whoever is making them. buying booster packs are a gamble yes, but you could buy every box at a store and get a hit on every single pack, it's random and the company is making money because they are just printing on cardboard, literally printing money. if i was to buy a mystery box/pack from a reseller it's curated to make them money, it may pay off 1% of the time but at the end of the day they don't want to lose money, it's a marketing scam and everyone that does it knows what they are doing, like you said, you're copying the best person in the "game"

The best thing for building a customer base and brand is if you could guarantee hits in every pack but then either you would have to weigh or open and reseal packs and on top of that charge more then what people would probably want to pay for them. Even if y’all did weigh packs there are several videos online of people weighing every single pack from several booster boxes and getting non definitive results. Plus people tend to forget the whole point of what makes this hobby exhilarating is that there is RNG. If every single pack had a hit the value of the cards would be next to nothing and people wouldn’t get as “obsessed” with opening the product. It’s the same concept that as soon as they introduced having at least a holo in every pack. Now Holos aren’t even considered hits unless it’s a very specific artwork (but even then the values aren’t usually high because holos are so common) or a vintage pack.

I think you did a great job explaining the whole mystery pack making process and a solid attempt at debunking the rumors going around about them. I think those who spread such rumors are either newer to the hobby or they are immature. I'm not talking about Opossum or Jake. I saw both of their vids quite soon after they uploaded them and I feel their critique was mainly about the premise behind mystery packs in general, even though Rev's packs were the ones being ripped in Jake's vid. I always felt you bigger Poketubers have too much to lose as far as reputation goes by tampering with mystery packs. Something you stated very clearly here. Knowing that, I always felt comfortable buying mystery packs from you guys. For the record, I've bought from Rev, Danny and Ando. I've had great experiences with all of them. I hit a MAJOR GRAIL with Danny's wearable Phanny Packs but that's a story for another day. Great transparency, Sean. It's this kinda content that gives reassurance to your fans and customers and will help in the longevity of both your channel and any side projects you may do now or in the future. Oh, and for the record, Danny is some kind of crazy middle-class philanthropist. The dude has a huge heart. I have first hand experience (over the internet but it resulted in something tangible) of his kindness and willingness to help. He has stated he's taking a loss on the Phanny Packs, especially if time and effort are added to the equation. Anyway, I hope you never change, man. I know as the channel grows it gets busier and harder to stay grounded but always remember how it all started and what got you to where you are.

I don’t think you have to justify, mystery packs are a gamble if you people get good tiers they think there great and if they don’t get anything they think their bad People should understand the risk to reward, nothing is a guarantee Congratulations on 90k again, Still climbing to a 100k VSFL

I dont agree with the logic saying the packs wouldn't be weighed so the word of mouth is shared, its more than likely people keep the packs sealed. And the average person may not even think of heavy packs when they are in the casual style of openings.

Mystery packs are 100 percent a scam and if anyone tells you otherwise they are being sent “loaded packs” to show they “have the hits” or they are trying to sell you mystery packs

What a stupid comment. I am an absolute nobody in Pokemon terms, who bought two of Rev's packs. I hit gold, which held a vintage pack, which contained a holo. I have seen very fair odds from the rest of the community, and multiple reviewers buying to try (and failing) to prove them wrong. If you don't have the cash or have a problem with that kind of purchase, don't buy them. But I had a really great experience.

My experience with mystery packs or boxes are honestly not very great. I bought one of the first pokerev packs and I got skunked, no hits at all. It can just happen with a mystery product and it sucks, but that's the gambling nature of it all.

I've never understood people not understanding the concept for pricing on Mystery Packs. It's the cost of materials (packs, slabs, ACTUAL materials to make the packs) plus a little profit, averaged out across how many packs are made. Of course if you get 6 sword and shield packs for $55 you're going to feel like it's a scam, but those packs have to exist in order for someone else to get a $300 vintage pack for $55. It's just science

.Like you both clearly buy old booster boxes. It's easy to weigh old packs. So you both put in the packs you don't want to open , from booster boxes your looking for rare cards from. I've seen so many videos where people get gold only to find non holos. So no, it is not a scam. It is just you both offloading packs you didn't want to open. There's definitely no lying about the odds of someone pulling a pack. And this is the real truth everyone should hear. I would know I've been collecting a long time and there's always packs left over you don't want to open because you already found the hits in the box. This is just how you offload the packs and offset the cost of opening

It's all a gamble, no reason somebody should be mad as long as packs are actually inserted. And of course it is for the creator to make some money, nothing wrong there. I'd look at it like this value just guessing per 25 (includes 5 base packs): 17 Green - $25 = $425 5 Red - $35 = $175 2 Silver - $70 = $140 1 Gold - $120 = $120 Total $860 Costs $1250 Profit $390 minus expenses like packaging. So at best like a 30% ROI, good return for the maker but nothing astronomical. Keep up the good work!

As an individual that purchases blind bag / blind boxes it's all about chance, you never know what you will receive until you open said item. You showing your process and how you sort things is amazing, it's just baffling how some can accuse of foul play when it's all random and you can't keep up with which hits are in which package, if that were the case then every non Pokémon influencer would recieve the lowest tier each time unless the dumped over 1k into the bag purchases while the Pokémon influencers would have non stop hits in one or two bags.

Honestly at the end of the day mystery packs are literally gambling. It’s literally buying a product that guarantees NOTHING. It’s all chance. You’re better off using that money for the single(s) you want or at least save for it. Given that the mystery packs are easily $40+ minimum…

Unfortunately mixing the sets say a box has some greens and a purple don’t know how many packs per mystery box but it is always possible that you get the bad packs from a specific set. Taking random odds from various sets and shuffling those packs seems to make the odds even harder to get pulls.

I believe in you guys whole heartedly. I've bought from 4 of Rev's runs, and I've bought from you. This video isn't going to change the minds of the haters. You rev and Danny are doing these right. Chloe and Leaf's packs suck. Freaking sun and moon base or crimson invasion or steam siege as your red tier pack is a slap in the face. I got Plasma Storm from Rev. I only got a black in yours but that's just the game. It doesn't make sense to not include hits in the big packs with as many of these getting reviewed, you need ppl seeing hits coming out as marketing for your product. Plus you guys are making serious money. The best hit out of one of those packs even graded in a PSA 10 isn't going to compare to what ya'll bring in. Or at least rev brings in off of a run of these. If you keep the heavy packs that's just more boxes you have to buy to make the same amount of mystery packs and your profit gets hurt even worse. Ignore these fucking haters ya'll. We love all you guys.

As someone fortunate enough to have been able to throw some money at Rev's mystery packs for the surprise and fun of the thing, I was pleasantly surprised (and lucky) to hit gold and red out of two packs. The gold contained a Gym challenge pack with the store sticker still on it, and inside was a holo which I recorded opening for myself. It was SO cool to feel the childhood excitement of opening a pack like that again, something I probably wouldn't shell out the $250 to do or know how to reliably source a fair/unweighed loose pack from. I completely trust these guys when they say the odds are as advertised.

would you gamble 35 on 10 loose packs or 62 on 5 packs?
@ybdap7
@ybdap7 10 месяцев назад
@Pokenomics22 depends on the packs im getting. If I can pay 35 for any 10 loose packs, it'll be a steal, but that is highly unlikely in any mystery packs. It just depends on pack selection. Like recently mj holding had a 25 dollar mystery box that had all swsh 5 packs and 1 coin with a chance to get neo packs or heart gold soul silver, and i opened a couple and each come with ES packa which I think is pretty fair.

Unless you’re misrepresenting the odds, they’re not a scam. MJ Holdings and their “chase pack” nonsense is totally a scam. People are paying a premium, yes. Paying beyond the intital cost of the base packs is something a buyer is aware of. People are doing them either to support the streamer, or because they want to play the odds of coming out ahead. The assumption that good packs are weighed is quite wild, because I’ve seen people pull good cards out of both the guaranteed and higher level bonus ones.

I think mystery packs are fun foe the obvious mystery, but always assume whatever I'm buying will not contain the chase pack. That way I'm not disappointed when I don't get anything "good", or if I do get the chase, it's a nice surprise. Just know going into it that you likely aren't going to get the chase and you're good. It's like buying a lottery ticket.

I feel like people who don't get lucky with their mystery pack will get all shorty about it and feel as if it's a scam and people who hit something good will give good feedback, the fact that it's a MYSTERY pack sorta proves in itself that you're not always going to get the best, it's your efforts to make the mystery packs and I feel we should be grateful regardless, I've been on both ends of the scale, I've spent £50 on a mystery pack and hit something big and I've also bought one for £50 and not really made my value back, its just how the game plays out, be appreciative
@jessearodriguez
@jessearodriguez 10 месяцев назад
I would just be curious what the margins are. Even if they’re quite large, it makes sense because individuals probably don’t have a shot at vintage product at anywhere near the price of the mystery packs. That’s the added value the consumer gets, in addition to the overall experience. Plus I’m sure you guys are getting some type of bulk pricing when you source the vintage stuff. I don’t see the problem, personally. The real big scams in the hobby are 1) counterfeiting, 2) resealing, 3) weighing (and not divulging), and 4) card grading.
@Semitote
@Semitote 10 месяцев назад
I feel the problem is, people want better odds as they open packs, but if you have 33% chance from 10 different boxes.. your odds aren't going up with each dud pack where it would with a booster box (assuming booster boxes have guaranteed hits)... But also people want 5 hits from 5 packs.. so if they only get 1 hit and it's a regular ex or V card (or no hits).. packs must be weighed, ya? But honestly, 0 or 1 hit is much more likely than 3-5 hits. These packs are more of a way to support a creator more than it is a way to get hits. Love your content - keep it up!
