Its weird. I was subbed to Brutal moose for i think a literal decade. I only watched a couple of his videos, His mystery tapes nods convinced me to watch his 10 year back log. it was great!
His dusty dig through tapes is fascinating and really fun 🤙 i love the fact that he thrives in an environment of preserving the old schoolie tapes and showcasing the hidden content that many of them contain. People forget that alot of( behind the scenes, meet the actors ect) content was only on these tapes, some of which, including promos, were never remade or released anywhere else. It's like a moosey time capsule ❤
Remember people, never block your butt. Also on a serious note, this might be the best video on this channel. Period. Any time we get a mystery tapes video, live or otherwise, it’s the upper echelon of Ian vids!
The video of Liko was really sweet. I had a beagle with similar coloring growing up, and reminded me of when I taught her to shake. Liko may not have been ready for primetime, but that dude sure loved his dog :)
I'm fairly certain I watched The Rotten Truth in school in the early 2000s! The Museum of Modern Trash seemed so familiar. There was a whole day-long set of activities, a lady told us about landfills and recycling. We made snack bags representing a landfill using fruit by the foot and granola, and she showed us one of those hand-shaped chairs made from recycled materials. The video kinda scared me, especially the footage of landfills.
I can smell the buttery popcorn with that intro as well as the cold pickles, for whatever midwestern reason... Which is a great feeling 'cuz I know Wario will never be able to smell those things.
Been listening to this in the background whilst digging a pond in my garden, such a classic vibe. I can dig that. I love mystery tapes, it's such an epic timecapsule. 🎉
I need to know what happened to the girl who hosts the Rotten Truth. She was really good. She was in this and a few other episodes of "1-2-3 Extra" and she was even Johnny Carson! All in the span of like three years. And then...nothing.
@@moose2 You're welcome!!😄 After watching the whole thing, I think the Trash tape and the Video Production tapes were my favorites! Seeing PBS promos on a blank tape just made my day (yeah I'm a PBS geek LMAO)! Some Frontline documentaries are interesting as long as you pick one that catches your attention, that specific episode is one that I would watch. Anything that is a downer I pass on (say an episode that is about a murder or other kind of tragedy would be episodes I won't watch). I actually have a UNC-TV PBS recording from 1997 that I just watched last month. It had a lot of plane documentaries, some NOVA and a three-part series called Plane Crazy. Interesting stuff IMO! Cherry on top was that they left the commercials in (only during Plane Crazy but still I'll take it) so that made it an absolute keeper in my collection!😉👌
My favorite part was the photography lessons ,I knew a lot of that but it was a great deep dive with expert tips. Also learning the complete history of trash😅trashy!
ooooo i really like this kind of stream! it definitely motivates me to do chores, and i always get a laugh out of ian’s reactions, i’m always coming back to my phone to playback whatever made him chuckle!
i love mystery tapes. whenever i put on those first five episodes of mystery tapes i always feel so cozy. the vibes are perfect, the pacing is great, it's funny, it's interesting, and it just feels right.
Oh this was a treat and then some! I absolutely love finding old VHS tapes and seeing what programs were made/shown back in the 80s and 90s. Its very nostalgic for me. Hopefully this can be an ongoing series in the near future!
I was just thinking about how I didn't clock the strong midwestern accent at first in the Impacts of Tech video bc im also from the midwest and then i realized that it was filmed at the college I went to lmao. The shot in the beginning seemed to be a professor showing a student how to use a camera, and I'd bet the building they were in was the same one I went to a lot. Taking a closer look now, it seems to be largely the same, haha! Strange coincidence, its not a big school!
Ok this stream is amazing.i love how light hearted and fun the live chat was too. I need more of this kind of content in my life lol. Well @moose! I gotta catch a live when you do the mystery tapes again…
The one about filming was interesting. I learned basically the same stuff in college, but it was about drawing manga. Funny how most rules for comics are the same as the ones for filming,
stuck around for 'Shooting Home Video: the Basics'; been employed with videography for a quarter-century now--hoping to finally learn what I'm doing wrong
Love Mystery Tapes! I sent some I’ve found over a while ago (including the one in the plastic case), the “Cool Video Gear for Videographers” one I sent is very odd haha Edit: I think it’d be perfect for watching on stream and being uploaded on the Mystery Tape archive channel!
Idk if anyone mentioned it specifically, but it sounds weird because the treble is a bit high. If you're using OBS, you should be able to fix it with an EQ filter on your mic. (I've only done it to the game audio, personally. I have misophonia, _insane_ hearing and a sensitivity to high-pitched sounds, and that's all the audio is in _Super Mario Bros.: Wonder._ ) EDIT: Thanks for skipping so much of the _Impacts Of Technology On Today's Education_ section. /s I was actually very interested, but f me, I suppose.
Y’all should watch a documentary on recycling: a lot of the stuff she’s saying holds true. Also we’re currently dumping garbage on an island closer to Asia.
I’m pretty sure that garbage song was implying that I’m a piece of shit and a simple search of my garbage would reveal that fact. Yikes.. also, I was waiting the whole time for the FRED talk to inevitably pivot to garbage.
