This song was my introduction to Mystikal back in the day. It wasn’t the norm to hear a country ass southern accent in hip hop then. He was so soulful and charismatic and just a helluva showman/performer

A lil history...Mystikal is rapping like another new orleans rapper Tim Smooth on this track. Tim Smooth was big in nola, but he went to perform in nyc in the early 90s and they boo'd him off the stage. Not because he couldn't spit, but only because he was from the south. Look up Tim Smooth - I Gotsta Have it.
Back in the mid-late 90s, Northeast/NYC rap had Busta Rhymes and ODB while Dirty South rap had Mystikal.Three unique rappers with genuine styles but the way Mystikal just served his heavy rap rawness in your face was a talent known to itself.

@@wcoloto I gotta disagree. Slim had bars, charisma, track presence, could put songs together well and had highly underrated story telling skills. Plus he had the X Factor... street certified. It just felt different when Slim rapped. No way Slim not in that conversation.

😄 I remember the first time I saw this video on Rap City at 16 I was laughing my muthafuckin' ass off to the point I was crying and my stomach was hurting like hell. Then I realized something, this shit was cold as hell and Mystikal was in his own lane as a rapper. It dawned on me later that this shit was dope because it was different. Let preface my comment by saying this by far the best song on the album and I love it. Did anyone else notice a combination of very um, believable falsetto and how do i say, gender-slanted dances moves? In addition to being one of best bangers, its one of his best videos 😆
