Hans. Not an audio comment or maybe it is. I watch so many of your videos, whenever the transition sound comes up between video sections, my kids would say: "Dad is watching audio stuff again from that RU-vid dude!"😅
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel it’s a great streamer, I use Ropieee XL and it’s a glorious streamer..I have two dacs the Venus and New Ontech from Denmark ..it’s the best streamer I have had..I did all the upgrades
Atencione! I am very satisfied owner of Mytek BBI and AMP+. Enthusiastic enough I wanted to upgrade to BBII. I paid for it in april 2022. IT WAS NEVER DELIVERED! First year Michael J. sent me a dozen of emails of promises. Last year he does not answer me at all. I think one has to know all the aspects of the Mytek gear before buying one.
Few years ago BBI was made by Hem audio Poland. At that time production and distribution worked well. Last 2 or 3 years their newly established Mytek Europe from Warsaw misleads custumers. From my point of view, as a customer, taking money and not deliver gear is nothing but scam!
Hi Andrej - yes, the fulfillment of the upgrades to BB1 took us way longer than we anticipated because of delayed launch of the product and initial adjustments in manufacturing. The good news is that with current production we expect to catch up with the few remaining backorders in the next few weeks. We just sent you an email that your upgrade is going out this week. Hello, same here, it's been more than 2 years, a lot of email exchanged, and still no device sent. I'm glad you finally received yours. To everyone, be carefull with Mytek order and services...
Be carefull everyone, I was happy with the BB1, ordered the BB2 in march 22 and NEVER RECEIVED IT despite numerous email exchanges and attempted phone calls.... Nevertheless, thank you Hans for your quality video.
Hi Hans, bedankt voor de duidelijke uitleg in al je videos. Ik ben benieuwd naar je mening van de Aurender streamers maar kan geen enkele review vinden. Is dit een merk waar je bekend mee bent?
Thank you for this review. I imagine that the BB I and the BB II may sound different among other things because the II has a linear power supply built in, but I wonder if it outperforms the BB I powered by the HYPSOS FERRUM, also reviewed in this channel. Does it?
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel BB2 has pretty much the same digital and analog circuitry as the BB1 with exception of the power supply- switching 25W in BB1 and toroid 90W with multiple linear regulators in BB2. The toroid power supply makes a huge difference (improved dynamic performance, subjectively by about 02% ) as there are multiple individual windings and multiple linear regulators which do no exists in BB1 even with external linear power supply. So BB1 with external power supply is a little better , while BB2 is significantly better subjectively.
Interesting, your comments relating to integration of i5 based streamer, dac, pre-amp (even phono mm) and potential, but not heard, SQ degradation. The colleagues at ASR kind of slaughtered the device based on Sinad and a few more noise related measurements (under not so well communicated boundary conditions I shall add). Then again, there is more to music, specifically the musicality of reproduction, than SNR, isnt there? Thank you so much for being specific about this possibly highest qualities of all. One aspect that might be worth highlighting is the susceptibility to ethernet-bound noise rejection capability of such a device. In other words the improvements brought by inserting filters of all sorts (did I miss that?). Grimm’s doesnt need any, the more expensive Auralics hardly react, and, on the other end of the spectrum, my trusted pro-ject streamer tells about the very slightest change upstream… hence my interest ;) Tx for sharing your great work!
Because it currently it is only a Roon Endpoint. At the end of the year a UPnP AV renderer will be added through an update. If you then have a UPnPAV or DLNA server program running on the NAS, you don't need Roon.
Having been a sound engineer and fiend hifi salesman in the analog era I find myself nonetheless totally lost in the variety and differentiating purposes/descriptions of digital era products and suspect potential customers are being lost as they also can't make sense and garner enthusiasm. I thought I had worked out that a bridge referred to interfacing with your network but obviously not. What is a bridge and how does it differ from a streamer in this case?
FYI, I (and many others) pre-ordered and paid in full for there BBii and still haven't received our units. I have a very interesting thread with Michal that goes back to March of 2023 promising me my unit soon/ next week/ just around the corner. These people are terrible...I would avoid them at all costs.
Yes, as I mentioned earlier, we are catching up with these- not sure about your name, but if we weren't communicating recently please reach out the support again. Mytek Support
@@mytekdigital How can you be "catching up" while ignoring your earliest believers for new customers??? 2 YEARS WITH NO DELIVERY!!!! I can only assume you are running a pyramid scheme at this point...
I continue to reach out by mail. One I sent right after this review went live that told me “a few weeks” and another follow up to that one that you all have not bothered to reply to….
It’s interesting that there are still products coming out with MQA decoding capabilities, since Tidal has now dropped MQA. Lenbrook bought MQA , I’m not sure why. There are rumours going around that they are going to do their own streaming service. I was actually disappointed that MQA went away, I actually like them. Tidal is now hi-res flac which is fine but it was nice to have the option. It goes to show you how some bad press from people with an agenda can ruin something good for self served interests. Good to see you still going Hans, been a big fan of yours for a long time. 🫶👍
MQA is now yet another audio format that people may have in their libraries. Mytek philosophy is to continue to support all major audio formats up to reasonable 768k and 512 DSD
