Just noticed that 9:19, before the record says "You can't save your friends anymore.", it has no subtitles but the record still shows it recorded something. I think it means first Ame took a deep breath before she said that heartbreaking line.

All of Council's symbols appearing and Sana's being the only one that's glitching hit me right in the feels man

I love how Sana’s symbol was flickering. Not onlyis it a nod to her graduation, but also to the fact that she’s connected to the ancient ones.

While the voice record was telling every Amelia not to rewind that thing, the fact that this one reached this 'end' means whichever Amelia recorded it decided to reset the timeline anyway. Really love the story.

A little piece of symbolism I dont think anyone else noted, but when it says "On September 13 2022 the world was wiped out" I believe that September 13 was when HoloMyth debuted, so when our ame eventually succeeded reality changed and they debuted. A cool little detail that makes this animation even better

I love how right before she plays the recording it shows Holocouncils signs with Sana’s glitching due to her graduation. This is so good too, without voice acting you can tell what it’s supposed to sound and hear each of the girls voices. I love this so much

It's always been my headcanon that while Gura doesn't have as much mystical mojo as Kiara, Callie or Ina, she is the strongest Holomyth member in terms of pure physical power. That would make sense since her lore implies she's actually an old-school Greek Mythology-style demigoddess.

Bro, ame is in a perpetual loop of suicide for her friends and she doesn't even think about it just does it. Really loved how her time travel worked here and all the Ames that exist due to her ability she really has a unique reason for being part of the myth group!

Last time, we got a wholesome 3D animation from another animators. Now, we got an epic badass 2D animation from Mazumaro Hololive fans never stop to amaze me

So Ame kept restarting the universe until it ends in our current timeline, where all the Myth girls are safe and happy as streamers under Hololive's brand. In other words, we're living in the good ending. You're a genius.

Okay kind of a small thing, but I love how Gura enters her berzerk mode the same way Dante enters his Sin Devil Trigger, and with the weapon being absorbed too. Don't know if intentional or not, but damn does this add to her being a third-rate demon hunter.

When a 12 minute fan made vid does a better wrapping of a story rather than 12 episode anime that leaves you in a cliffhanger is so satisfying.

I love that very ending scene and how it connects to what Ame did just before. Instead of giving up and quitting, she decided to retry, even though it meant dying herself. In that very last screen, it lingers on ‘quit’, but in the end chooses ‘retry’ one more time. It’s a bittersweet ending: Ame choses to reset the universe at the cost of her own life just for the chance for her friends to live again. And maybe this time they’ll find a way out, or maybe they won’t. But taking that chance and trying again is better than giving up.

the fact this was animated by 1 person in the span of 1-2 years is incredible

The level of detail is just amazing. Even little things like when Ina gets control of her body again, she doesn't have the halo or hair squishies as they were part of the ancient ones.

My head canon is that our Ame has gotten past this bad ending and that's why she keeps singing September at karaoke to celebrate her victory.

After Ame restarted the universe so many times, we finally come to the universe / timeline that Myth has happy ending.

I'm really confused on why this doesn't have millions of more viewers. I don't even know holomyth lore but I still felt chills and loved every bit of this.

While Ame's original task was to harness the other four due to their world ending powers, the mind-bending ending where Ame herself is the one that destroys everything just for the sake of her friends, as a mere human no less, will lock this Bad Ending as a true masterpiece for the Holo community. Thank you Mazu not just for your talent but also your genius in manifesting the world that could've been, but that we in the "good ending" can appreciate while still enjoying the girls that have brought us so much entertainment and love through what have truly been difficult years across the globe.

I guess the 'happiest' part of this story is... that despite Ame no longer being able to save 'her' friends.... she was able to save the friends of a different her... the her that never had to go through all of this and hopefully never never will reach the and... so she can be blissfully ignorant of the sacrifices her formers self had to made over and over again for her to be able to live happily.

Watching Ina save Gura, then seeing her tear up before turning towards Gura, and then seeing her and Gura being obliterated... ngl, that brought me to tears...

8:22 I Love how Sana's icon is the only one that has this glitching effect compared to the other Council's icons.

"September 13th 2022 The world was wiped out by a single entity." The realization that hits you when you slowly understand that not Ina is meant by that statement. Ame is. Also love that we currently live in the good ending because well, we continue to exist even after September 13th 2022.

*"Immortals of this world, shall be dealt with later"* What a fantastic line. Very badass and to the point. Mazu-sensei is a hero.

"I see, you are ME after all." At first I didn't get it until I think about who left the note. The only one who is able to leave a voice note would be Ame from the previous iteration, after she left the note, she went and did again it anyways. Beautiful.

Came here from Schnee's analysis of this video, and holy shit! I don't think there's an expression that can convey the amount of awesome that you managed to pack into this short. Not only are there Easter eggs galore. You told an amazing, concise, emotional, invested story with nothing but the animation, sound fx, and music I love the decision to do it entirely in black and white, so that when the multiversal shift which has colors, is that much more striking

Gura has always been my favorite of myth and this animation just goes even further to that cause calli can regen,kiara effectively doesn't fear death,ame can time travel, and ina has the backing of ancient eldritch beings while here is a mortal with limited power in any sense and she is by far the most motivated to save ina and even beyond that the adrenaline as possibly the only person to bleed in this amazing short reminds you gura isnt immortal or fantastically powerful or even the greatest of them but she is the only one that would never give up even in a drain befalling state she meets her friends eyes in their final moments Gawr Gura showing the human ame what it means to sacrifice it all in the name of hope that flicker burning in ame as she herself is inspired to try again even in the face of her countless failures

The most heartfelt and bittersweet moment was Ame's insistence that she'd do everything over and over again just to hope for the day that they all will have their good ending. The look on her face before tumbling down the stairs makes me tear up, as it gives way for the new Ame's to step on forward and change what seems to be the inevitable. It's the love, the dedication, and most importantly the acceptance of her sad situation, that in her last breath, she paved the way for the next Ame to step forward in hopes that no Ame will ever step foot into that room again. Thank you, Mazu.

I love how sana's icon in 8:22 is fading as if its disappearing but still remains intact as a sign of gone but never forgotten

Gura with the Sin Devil Trigger... Having to go against arguably her sister...after making that sacrifice and being willing to kill her; still unable to save her...the last thing she sees is Ina crying and apologizing...Unbearable pain. How may of us have been there? Feeling like we failed everyone we loved? Or that we were the monster? Not enough... Do your best, forgive yourself and take control of your life. You can do it!

A detail I really, really like - before the entity lets go of Ina, she has the aspects of her appearance that seem a little abnormal - the hair tentacles and ear flaps. But once the entity lets her go - they're gone. She's completely human, and it's abandoned her completely...it's a small thing, but I can't help but love it. So many tiny things like that in this animation.

I am the only one who realized that when Gura absorbed her trident it started raining? (A small little detail that I noticed and it's kinda like her domain too) Incase you don't know what a domain is it's a umm idk Place(?) where the user has full control of and since water is kinda like Gura's domain she is pretty much like a god in there

Everything about this is absolutely insane. The art, the choreography, the story beats, the animation, absolutely incredible.

Oh my goodness. The timer on the video in the room with the projector shows approximately 13.78 billion years in hourly equivalent. For those who are not in the subject - this is the approximate age of our Universe. I love these little details. I have also been following this animation since its inception. Words simply cannot express how happy I am to live at the same era with an author like Mazumaro. If I were the son of an Arab sheikh, I would have already invited him to be the lead animator in my new studio. And the first thing we would do is just this full anime series. But I'm just poor man of culture, so I can offer only my words of gratitude!

I remember seeing this in the early stages and was already blown away, now the whole plot of Ame travelling through the multiverse in order to prevent this "bad end" over and over again, all in order to find that one "good ending", no matter how many time it takes, as indicated by all her past iterations who attempted to rewind the inevitable, everything is simply Ame-zing.

8:22 I think everyone noticed Sana's symbol glitching. But that's not just a meta reference, remember Sana also had connections to The Ancient Ones, so her glitching could also mean something terrible happened to her.

The glitchy saturn icon referencing Sana....... One of the most heavy hitting details that made me tear up. This animation is amazing and this deserves to hit a million views and more. As of this comment, it has 948,945 views.

That little detail where Sana's sigil is glitching compared to the others is both heartbreaking and nice

SOMEONE GIVE THIS MAN A FULL STUDIO BUDGET

After hearing about Ame's story of taking care of someone important all her life, this ending feels extremely in-character for the person who plays Amelia Watson. Taking that tape, even knowing she can't save her world and knowing it will kill her, that's a choice the real human behind Ame's avatar would make.

As an artist Im afraid to admit the fact that you actually drew this animation frame by frame, even though I saw that a bit CGI useing but the animation was really premium.

Im here councidentally for the 1 year anniversary of the reset day, after having seen Calli's new lore video with Ame in it.

I've known Mazumaro since 2014. No, not as a friend, I don't have that honor. His artist name was Zero then, and he drew a manga called "Action". It's a short comic, about 10 chapters, with a ton of silly jokes - the kind that would make you nearly die of laughter if you were a 14 year old (unfortunately, a lot of these jokes might make no sense to you if you're not Vietnamese). The story then gradually got serious from around chapter 7 and became completely serious at the end with - you guess what - time travel and stuff. I was completely impressed and have been following his work ever since. In 2019, I became an amateur artist and once again Zero, now his name is Mazumaro, absolutely impressed me when I saw his Pixiv page. Then we have his KnY animation that the UFO-FCKNG-TABLE themselves emailed him to give a praise. And now we have this. It was a surreal experience watching him go from sketchy-drawing comics to this masterpiece, especially when I can see the vibe of his old works here. I guess you won't see this out of 6000+ comments, but if you do, Mazumaro, you are my greatest idol.

"i see, you are ME after all" she knows that no matter what the consequences are, she's willing to gave up her life. not even her can stop her, this really made me tear up. after watching the official halowEN animation and then watch your animation, Myth really shows how lonely ame is and how both of you potrayed that ame truly loves her friends so much. truly a masterpiece!

Despite how chaotic this seems, this is surprisingly very wholesome. When Kiara went over to help Calli and told her "i've got your back", that was very heartwarming. And Gura giving everything she had in an effort to protect her dear friend Ame was also very wholesome. And myth is doing everything they can here to save their dear friend Ina. This animation really does a good job of depicting how deep of a bond they all share. Amazing work.

I come back to re-watch this every now and then, and every time I cry. This is one of the best pieces of media I’ve ever seen, yo really did such an amazing job. The wait was beyond worth it ❤

As great as the animation is, I believe the music also deserves some praise. The way they seamlessly integrated each characters songs while maintaining an intense yet somber tone throughout is amazing. And of course Ame's BGM being made a triumphant and hopeful tune is nothing short of incredible.

Hololive fans out here making better stories and filmography than Hollywood

I remember the first time i watched this video in November and it made me cry. Now from time to time i come back and watch it again, it still gives me teary eyes. The music, the emotions, the fight, even when Ina is apologizing and even the time on the "video". Everything is so perfect. You can see the effort and practice that you did in every frame. Words can't describe what a masterpiece this is. Keep up the good work

I happened to stumble across this... holy heck! The use of black & white animation is INCREDIBLE! Such a lovely treat to watch such great talent! Keep it up!

When Ame reaches the theater, I can count at least 6 dead Ame's already on the floor, making our Ame the 7th to have reached this room. It's incredible to imagine that based on the voice recording that every single one of those Ame's came from a different timeline where they had their OWN misfortune and reason to get to "The End". It might not have been a re-do of Myth vs Ina, but even a Myth vs Calli, a Myth vs Gura, or even a Myth vs Council timeline. And for the First Ame that arrived there, without seeing dead bodies, without having additional clues, and time standing still, how long would she have been in there alone trying to figuring out what to do? What dark logic did she have to process that led to leaving the voice recording? How long did it take her to realize her options and to then make her Final choice? It's just so interesting how Mazu presented his vision, where literally the infinite possibilities are both present and left unsaid, leaving us the audience to imagine for ourselves what other dark trials the Myth girls endured that allowed Their Ame to escape, and how every single one of those Ame's made the same singular, self-sacrificial choice to Retry. Thank you again Mazu and team for this work of art. I've rewatched it several times already just because of how truly amazing it is.

I kid you not, this will leave a humongous mark in the whole sphere of Hololive fan work's Hall of Fame, under the 'Eternal Masterpiece' section.

My friend linked me to this and I was stunned by how amazing this was, and then I saw it was a FAN film and it blew my whole entire mind. You did all of this in under 2 years, this absolutely phenomenal piece of animation. I thought this was from an existing film or show, not something made out a sincere love and passion. This is amazing, absolutely amazing. There's so much detail, so much emotion, the ending was beautiful. I know nothing about vtubers, but this told me so much about these characters alone. Really truly well done, this is a fantastic animation, it was so much fun to watch, with so many impressive captive moments. I could rewatch this a hundred times and still find something new to awe over!! Well done!! Congratulations on all of your hard work!!

This is just- Wow... Human Ina is so adorable and seeing her cry had, _without_ _fail_ , crushed my heart. Ame traveling through timelines was just, *_chefs_** **_kiss_* And the scene with past Ame who recorded herself saying it was hopeless, yet still went ahead and pulled the film tape out of the projector anyway, was just phenomenal. It’s so good.

You just *understand* cinematography and storytelling. Dont think all the mute decisions on every frame of this amazing work doesn't go unnoticed.

HOLY fucking hell! First time I've seen this, and all I can say is- WHO ARE YOU? MADLAD! I've witnessed full productions with not half the polish as this! You earned every iota of success you've accomplished! I'm blown. Very well fucking done!

My main question is why none of the council in lore did nothing in this story. Like at least Mumei and Fauna had a reason to step in if not the others so the fact that they didn’t raises interesting question for the lore of this video, personalities of the council, and concerns/goals of the council.

Ina saving Gura was probably my favourite part, I like how when the Ancient Ones leave her body she reverts back.

That multiverse of Ameness scene is absolutely amazing, a mile better than that in drStrange imo, Ame interacted with the universes as she passing through them

I think my favorite little detail that I don't see many people bring up, is the faint flicker of Irys/Hope's sign right at the end, as we're ascending through the clouds Showing the fact that, even though every single Ame who has done this knew it was pointless, they refused to give up hope and kept the cycle going, hoping for a better end And in the end, that did happen, we've seen that Irys was the one who pushed Gura into joining Hololive a little earlier, thus preventing the bad ending from happening, and giving birth to our universe, the good ending And honestly, I think that's my favorite detail of this entire video The fact that no matter how fruitless it was, they held out hope, and eventually, hope descended

My man, you have such a good grasp of impact frames. That fire force bass drop was immaculate. I've watched anime produced by massive studios that didn't have impacts as satisfying as yours.

I mean, the entire video is: Ina stopping the Elder One from killing Gura and Ame discovering the corpses of her previous selves is fantastic, but that twist at the end, perfectly portrayed by the trailer too, is something out of this world. Be proud, you really did a great job here!

That was INSANE! What a showing of time and effort that was put into this. The animation was fantastic. The way their themes were interwoven into the musical score gave me chills. Fantastic work Mazu and everyone that helped out to make this masterpiece.
