Who's here after Adam posted a video on his Tested channel talking about this build and set of days?

I remember looking forward to watching MythBusters every week after school in the 2000s. It was one of my favourite shows on TV at the time.

If he kept his arms and legs together they would have had less resistance built more speed and thus would have gone farther

you wouldn't have known he was miserable the whole time.

Honestly it’s the fact Adam keeps screaming while airborne and he gets abruptly cut off by impact that makes it twice as funny

I bet they knew it was fake but they still did it for fin

I laughed so hard at the second attempt, his groans of trepidation as he slowly rotates just really got me.

Seeing Adam this young makes me feel old. I never missed an episode when I was young!! 🖖🏼

With the right technique you can slide a lot faster. This was the worst possible way to slide. I bet with the right technique he could go 50% further.

Much better than watching on Tee Vee where you are forced to watch annoying ads over and over before getting any real show content !

I think we can safely conclude that the Mythbusters had more fun than anyone.

To be honest my favorite part of this episode was when they ere buiding the ramp and one of the guys dropped a roll of duct tape making the top and it just started rolling down until it few off the other end

There is so much human error here.... The video isn't real but if he used any proper form he would have made it much farther

The orange ramp change upward to soon unlike the white version. Also Adam and Jaime have there legs open at the start. They need to cross them to get more speed.

This slide, the position of the slider, and probably the lubricant, are all different from the video.

Err... The curve of the slide was all wrong. It has to be a cycloid.

One thing to note. It looks like the original video is completed in an Alpine area (high elevation = thinner air = higher speed).

The significant error was keeping his legs open, slowing him down. Luge you keep your legs together.

To the people saying that they need to tuck their arms and legs in. Yes you have a point, doing that will give them more speed. but it also makes it harder to stay on the ramp, they would need to make the slide have a slight dip in the middle of it to make sure they stay in the middle or it.

should have made it smaller so he could have put is leggs crossed so the water wouldent spray his face... like you do at real waterslides

Anyone that has been to a water park KNOWS to cross your hands and feet... I'm really surprised no one there told them that bit of information.. They would have gotten more distance.

That's because you didn't wet the whole slide. If u wet the whole thing u could've got better results

On a British documentary program called “QED”back in the eighties they went into the science of water slides simply put it you arch your back so only your heels and shoulders were in contact with the slide you went much faster ,I did this on a slide at splash down water park in Vancouver,I got a bollocking from the staff for showing the Canadian kids how to go faster they were getting air big time on one of the slides.

I did this in a waterpark in Ibiza on the extreme slide. The body position with arms and legs tight by me side was important for a phenomenal ride and air time, however it was absolutely hell on the nads ):

Adam clearly hasn't been to a water park any time recently. Cross the ankles with hands on chest. Lift your butt off the ramp so you are on your shoulders & heals. MAXIMUM SPEED!!!! Ankles crossed to avoid the water wedgie.

how is it myth busted?? what was the height and angle used in the video, and what is the height and angle used by myth busters?? non of these critical information is given.

I bet the entire crew spent the entire afternoon playing on that after filming this.

he is slowing his self down, it don't matter how far you go up on the ramp if you are going to keep it slow by putting your arms down and legs out. Put somebody on there with some balls and do a real test. T.V. bullshit anyway

mythbusters aren't accurate with their myth busting trials...the slide in the myth video had a wider curve.

he could've gone farther and faster, but his arms were extended too much so they created drag.

If you see this in reverse, it's about a gigantic fat fish jumping backwards out of the water and landing perfectly in a landing ramp. :D

the one thing that would've affected this for the better would have been if he have gone down forcing his body up so that all the surface tension was just his feet and shoulder blades, effectively making them skids.

People in comments saying "they should've..." should watch Olympic skeleton. It takes more time and distance than you think to build up speed. With a running start, on ice and a sled on skates, it takes 5 seconds to hit 50km/h at a distance of 65m. Original video shows the guy travelling at speed when he was at the top, accelerating down the hill for 2 seconds. Not how gravity and acceleration works. The creators even said it's fake.

They're missing the point: they shouldn't be testing whether they could have accurately hit the pool in the original video, but how they could have survived the landing?
