I'm glad I'm not the only one waiting until the last minute to place my orders. XD Shipping to UT from NJ can be rough, but for the All-In it's like $25, which doesn't seem terrible. the complication is in ordering the extras I want for kit-bashing. You never know when adding one little thing will jump shipping up from $15 to $35. Like you, I was considering doing 2 All-Ins, but back when Cosmic Legions Wave 1 was up for pre-order I didn't know which ones I would want extras of so I got 2 All-Ins and I have regretted it pretty much every single day (because MY MONEY, WHERE DID IT ALL GO?! And then I'll have to sell or trade the extras I don't need for the ones I do.) So I have taken the last many weeks to determine I really only want extras of the undead figures. I will order an All-In this week, and last week I placed my order for all the extras: 1x Sir Elijah, who will go without the soft-goods, as the new knight parts look great and deserve to be displayed. 3x Undead Legion Builder, because while I only liked one of the zombie heads, I need all the ghosts I can get, so I plan to put the ghostly Hagnon head on one (so including the one from the All-In I'll have 1 zombie and 3 ghosts). Finally, 3 Maxillius, cuz I need to sprinkle the new skeleton parts amongst my existing skelly kit-bashes (and make new ones, of course). this one seems like the most versatile of the figures for the kit-bashes I tend to make. And then as funds allow while they're available at retail prices, I may grab a couple more here or there, Elijah and maybe Gideon, for more mix-and-match knight parts, and maybe another Turpiculus, because so cool looking. And probably more skeletons, because I'm a sucker for the skeletons in this line.

Necronominus faction really speaks to me [a winged LICH on a skeleton horse, oh hells yes!!!] glad I discovered these figures in time to catch this wave! Thanks for showing Gideon and Elijah without the soft goods, hadn't seen that before. Definitely going to be a regular viewer of your channel.

I love Mythics but I'll never get used to how long the wait is for them, at least they never disappoint. Getting most of this wave, not all though.

Great vid mate, very helpful and spot on with your analysis . It’s $720 U.S. for the All-in to get to Australia, shipping cost is very steep indeed. The major retailers do have pretty decent shipping rates, but they still charge taxes etc. so yeah, while you may not be saving that much by getting the All-in pre-order direct, for me personally, I still think it is worth it ! This will be my first All-in and I can’t wait for it ! 💀👍

I went with Horse and Rider box set, 2 Turpiculi, 2 Undead Builders, 2 bone hands and feet, and 1 knight hands. I could have ordered a few more, but I want to save for either another reinforcements wave, or the deluxe legion builder stock sale. I think I remember Chris saying shipping is also dependent on what size box they have to use. Shipping on a five basic figure order will be lot more than on a 4 figure order, because they have to bump it up to the next size box. Or something like that.

That shipping is killing me. Sweet Christmas, I swore to myself this was the last big order, so I won't face the "big box" cost again, but damn! I was over 60 bucks for the cheap shipping option. I don't know how the overseas Legionnaires are doing it, my hat's off to them for a staying power I don't know if I could match. This makes the second time my non figure collecting son bought a Mythic Legion, this time Sir Ucczajk. He got drawn in by Aracagorr too, so it's nice to know that some design's appeal just cross all boundaries. He's a Gunpla guy, not into figures, but Mythic Legions transcends, evidently especially big nasty badasses. My younger kid, the one who used to be a figure guy, is a musician these days and dumps his money into bass guitars and effects pedals, he's not coming back to figures any time soon.

For me, a few of the best things I look at when ordering is realistically what figures I want and can comfortably display, and how much can I afford to spend. There are some "must have" figures that are must-buy no questions asked (Sir Gideon 2). There are others that I consider "bonus" figures that would be great to have, but not essential to my personal collection (Undead Builder Pack). From there, I have to make the hard choice of how many figures can I get from this particular wave and my rule of thumb is if it's 3 items or more buy from 4H. For where I live, that's the most affordable. If I'm only buying 1 or 2 figures like in the Poxxus wave, it was better for me to buy through a retailer because the price was comparable. For example, I only wanted Zende and Thriaice from the Poxxus wave which would've cost me about $98.00 from 4H which I did not have at that time. However, I can purchase it from BBTS and the difference would only be about $10.00 more with shipping and tax and I could probably save 4 bucks if I ordered from Mallfish.com.

Awesome video ! Thanks to you and Jeremy Girard. I started collecting Mythic Legions in 2022. I even went to Legions Con in November, and it was awesome. I live in Puerto Rico, which its a US territory, and I was surprised when I found out that the all-in shipping charges is $ 124. I know that 3 day shipping is expensive, but Puerto Rico is not an international destination. According to somebody who lives in Australia, he will pay $ 150 for all-in shipping. That is about the same amount of money for shipping to Puerto Rico. It is a shame that Storehorsemen doesn't have regular shipping like BBTS. I wouldn't mind waiting another 10-12 days to get my all in. I believe that BBTS would charge me about $40-45, and I would have to wait around 10-12 days to get the items. This will be the first time that I will not go all-in since I started buying from Storehorsemen in 2022. I will wait till Sunday to order, and I will buy all the knights, including the Ogre ( around 3 per knights). Also, I will buy the 2 pack with Necronominus, the horse for the knight, the Deluxe figure with the daughter, and maybe the Deluxe Skeleton. If I am not mistaken, I would pay around $ 75 for shipping. My main goal is to army build my knights army, but I won't be able to buy as many knights as I was planning to do due to the shipping costs, but I will be happy to get 12 new knights for my army , including the Ogre. Knights are my favorites . After the knights, I love Barbarians, vampires, ogres and orcs. As of today, most of the Mythic Legions retailers, including Storehorsemen, don't charge me for taxes. I am lucky, because sales taxes in Puerto Rico are probably the highest in the nation. We pay 11.5 %.

Good video DorkLair. I'm fairly new with Mythic Legions. The Illthyia wave was my first. I'm kind of a pick and choose collector, so no all in for me. I ordered 2 figures when the preorder opened, 2 more last month, and will get Necronominus this week. I'm good without the horses or the other deluxe figures. With shipping and tax, you come out at about the same ordering direct or preordering somewhere else .. $45 direct (shipping+tax) and between $50 - $55 when preordering elsewhere. So you would save some money ordering direct and putting up the money up front. Yeah, you broke that all down, good video, appreciate it man.

Bill, I've fallen into the Cosmic and Mythic black hole. One topic nobody seems to cover in their preview videos is the secret sauce behind purchase choices. A seasoned collector might choose to buy 5 of one figure and only 1 of another... what's the reason? What knowledge from past waves is playing into these future decisions? Better bucks? Higher historic resale value? I would be fascinated by such a discussion among long time Mythic collectors.

I preordered the ones I wanted the most allmost 300 buckeroos. The shipping was crazy expensive for me. So if I do buy more from bigbad I'll be paying around the same because of there flat rate shipping. The retail markup will just about equal to what I paid all together with shipping going direct. I do like buying directly from the company if I can. This will be the first time I have bought directly from four horseman. I'm pretty excited about it.

I’m not an all in guy myself. I collect other lines and I pick and choose. Collecting can get really expensive if you’re not careful l. I always only get like 2 or 3 figures that really make my eyes pop from each wave. Awesome breakdown vid though!

Here in Germany you can also pre order at retailers a standard figure for about 49€ (about 50$). When the figures are in stock finally the price increases by about 10 - 20€ in the first few days and after that the price nearly doubles. When a figure is out of stock you will never get one in the secondary market for a reasonable price, the prices then become insane.

Great video, Thanks for doing this and helping out new collectors. These types of video's really helped me when I was first getting into the line back in 2020. I placed my order Jan. 1, I would have loved to get 4 of everything, but I settled for an All-in + 3 Maxillius(Love Skeletons and this is all Skeleton) + 2 Undead builders(With all the extra parts it will be possible to make a large undead army with a few of these and some legion builders) + Belualyth(Amazing deal) + Conabus(Skeleton Horse!) + Bishop(Gotta have an extra white horse). I'm in Canada and the shipping is crazy($136.09) to move the box across the border, but it still comes out cheaper than buying retail in Canada. With that said I'm counting on retailers in Canada to get the figures so that I can still pick up extras later without the crazy shipping.

I just ordered all of the undead guys and two of the builders to make a zombie minion and a ghost minion. I mainly want Necronominus with his horse and his crew to display with the other three horsemen and select crew from past waves. I'm not into reselling so much as collecting.

So for people in developing countries such as me (Mauritius - small island in the indian ocean) we have two options either port forwarding or getting from BBTS. BBTS is at a decent price and you don't pay any additional taxes, one figure is usually 8 usually shipped. Port forwarding may be cheaper on bigger orders - and an alternative to getting from 4H are resellers such as horseheadtoys and Mallfish which i recommend as they offer free shipping.

Thank you for the video. Really does help. I'm leaning towards an all in and extras will come from an online retailer. I live in California so one that offers free shipping and no sales tax is preferable.

I'm ordering similar but I'm going to grab a few extra of Elijah, the new arms, legs and modular face option will be great for kit bashes. I'm also expecting we'll get full skeletons at a cheaper price point later, otherwise I would have gotten more of Maxillius

Good stuff! I only ordered the Knights and Bishop. For me the Skeletons are a bottomless money pit I’d be jumping into. I have enough monster/creature figures for the knights to fight.

Another cheap way to getting the figures would be toy shows that are being represented by the four Horsemen, but that is definitely waiting the long game.

This video hit at just the right time for me - I'm modeling a few different Carts to figure out what I want to do. Boreus preorder is $75 at BBTS, so assuming Bishop/Conabus will be $85 (or even $89). Also, great callout on the "no sales tax" retailers!

I'm in school so for now money is tight and I definitely can't afford nearly as much as I'd like.. My bday just passed and my gf lovingly gifted me a $100 Store Horseman gift card which is super nice!! I also got a couple hundred bucks from family members, so I was going to put all that toward my order, however after spending $200 between groceries and gas I'm not feeling that anymore... Probably gonna use the gift card to get the two pack, and I'm thinking and hoping to squeeze in Belualyth and Ucczajk!

HI shipping is rough. Retailers don’t offer shipping deals OCONUS so it’s a no brainer to pre order direct. Pre ordered Gideon, Bishop, Elijah, Undead, and Turp!

Funny enough I was playing with my cart today and found out I’m only saving $5/figure for 4 regular figures if I order direct. I did grab one all in already though so we’ll see what I decide by Sunday 😅

As a veteran legions collector I usually wait until the last day and order most of what I know I want. You can use a pay over time app like zip to break up the payments. Then if there’s something I didn’t order that I still want I use the secondary retailers.

Now that retail prices are up, I can safely say that I paid basically 0.64 usd less for getting my order from 4h for the combination of figures I got instead of getting it via resellers. Guess deluxe set and ogre set are actually cheaper via retailers once you consider tax and shipping (for some states)

Excellent breakdown! Yeah, when I see the shipping and tax for Washington state, I do weep a little.

It costs me a lot more overall to preorder from a large store like BBTS than it does from 4H due to my location, I'm in NJ. The choice for myself is really, pay now and wait or pay later and pay a bit more. The cheapest you will get figures is direct from 4H. Once you add tax plus shipping ( yes we pay sales tax in NJ), that savings almost equals out paying later to a no sales tax for out of state residents retailer/small business, plus flat rate or free shipping. It will still be cheaper overall from 4H but not as huge as everyone makes it out to be. For myself the difference is roughly the cost of going out to lunch with my son.

Very insightful video. I already made my order but I wish I had this insight before that lol 😅 with being in Canada we get destroyed with taxes and shipping but it is worth it.

Preorder from store horseman or preorder from a retailer, either way it’s better than resale.

I was about to order the last wave as a pre-order then I calculated the overall cost for the few items that I wanted and then realized when shipping is taken into account and credit card interest. So it is not always that clear.

The only reason I didn’t buy direct is the cost of shipping to Canada

Great video. I have the headless horseman figura obscura. It’s my first horseman purchase. How many waves do the horseman typically produce a year? I plan on ordering the deluxe 2 pack, 2 undead builder packs and bishop. How do the 1.0 knights scale with 7” figures? Are they the same height as the headless horseman? Ty! Very helpful. UK on top of the shipping we need to plus 20% import tax and around a £15 fee from the courier May look to buy from the only UK retailer who are very good but no alternative Uk supplier should they sell out (or go bankrupt) If I had gone this route with Cosmic it would’ve worked out slightly cheaper due to the import tax to buy from the uk

love mythic legions, hate trying to source them over here in the UK. a $37 fig turns into a £50 fig over here, and if i order an all in then customs decides to screw me out of an extra 20% on top of the shipping being expensive lol...wish we had another way :(
