Takahashi went all out, even going to Egypt itself for references. May he Rest in Peace. The forbidden one will always be among the dreaded OP monsters of the series. The themes of death and resurrection are well incorporated into the series even if it flew over the heads of us as kids. As they say you see a series differently as an adult than you do as a kid for obvious reasons.
@@LegendsAreLessons Bakura deals with a crazy spirit and his favorite card is Change of Heart. Also Bakura has a lot of cards that deal with souls and possession, like Dark Spirit of the Silent and Fiend Sanctuary. How fitting that his name is also the Egyptian words for soul and heart
