Η παρούσα ανθολογία είναι καρπός μια μακροχρόνιας, κοπιαστικής έρευνας. Και προέρχεται όχι μόνο από βαθύ γνώστη της γλώσσας των ανθολογούμενων τραγουδιών, αλλά και ικανότατο μουσικό. Πρόκειται για ένα έργο που έρχεται να γεμίσει ένα σημαντικό κενό η αρβανίτικη δημοτική ποίηση έχει καταγραφεί, ελάχιστα όμως η μουσική της και να επιτρέψει να τοποθετηθεί η μελέτη της δημοτικής μας μουσικής σε μια ευρύτερη βάση. Γιατί, σε τελευταία ανάλυση, μόνο με τέτοιου είδους βιβλία θα φτάσουμε στις συγκριτικές μελέτες που τόσο πολύ μας χρειάζονται για να διευρυνθούν οι ενθομουσικολογικοί μας ορίζοντες.
Τραγούδι: Θανάσης Μωραΐτης, τη μουσική και χορωδιακή επεξεργασία των τραγουδιών έκανε ο συνθέτης Δημήτρης Λέκκας, ενώ τη συλλογή/ιστορικολαογραφική έρευνα ο Αριστείδης Κόλλιας.

Beautiful music. Arvanites, as far as I know are heroes of the Greek revolution, and our brothers. Can someone explain to me. Are Arvanites same as Albanians? Or Other slavic origins? Or Greek? And if there were so many of these people in Greece for many years why has their language been lost? I fear that the answer could be that Greek Nationalism did not support them by valuing their culture as equal to the Mainstream Greek language and culture.

Yes, Albanians, Arvanites, Arberesh of Italy are brothers, but even with Greeks we are close. Even based on DNA studies shows that Albanians, Arvanites, Arberesh and Greeks are very close genetically, while the Slavs came later and they have different haplogroup.

Arvanites in Greece are same as Arbëresh in Italy, both from albanian origin who got sort of assimilated. They only speak their albanian dialects within their families. Many today‘s greeks descend from albanians but they were forced to take off their identity and I even heard of stories that they needed to change their names and religion and even their albanian language was forbidden to speak. There are some evidences that when Otto of Greece (Bavarian prince, who ruled as King of Greece between 1823-1862) arrived in Athen, he was wondering where the greeks were and that the people only had spoken Albanian in that time.

İts intresting that Red "fes" which bellong to ottoman culture isnt replaced by white " Plis", while Plis have been preserved among Albanians.

That is not the ottoman fez, they are similar but not the same. The Illyrian tribe of japodes had similar cap and people that live there today still wear it called Lika cap(lička kapa).
