I dunno, the controls in Shift seem pretty responsive to me or maybe it is because I game on a 240hz monitor. I found Hot Pursuit to be the most difficult because even after unlocking the FPS there is still massive lag in that one. By the way I spent a little too much time in this track in Assetto Corsa which is way more difficult, maybe that helps too.
