I loved this album right from the bat. It came along with promises of partying and dancing all night, full of love from one to another. This wasn’t just music it underpinned the clubbing scene which was massive. This, the drugs and the people, it was a hedonistic time.
It's been a long while since I've listened to this album. ALL of the songs on this album are awesome. I'm glad Iooked it up today. I bought the CD back in 1989 and wore out the digital bits playing it for years after that. LOVE this album.
It's a really tough choice given so many of their albums are of such high quality but I guess given my age this is probably my favourite album. Loveless 🥰😍🥰😍
I remember buying this cassette at a PX while in the Army stationed in Germany. Went to Crete for a live fire exercise and listened to this over and over....
27th June 2020. I'm stuck in Cambodia during what is hopefully the tail end of the Covid-19 pandemic. I've been out of the UK since January. And today I was reminded of this album through a Joy Division FB post. And I am happy. And the world still has happiness for me in it. ❤🙏
Technique was New Order's first album I listened to. That was in the early 90s, the time when I arrived (as immigrant) to live in the US. Every time I listen it to, it brings back fond memories I will never forget. Vanishing Point is Technique's inner core, by far!
Congratulations New Order for your indication this year (2023) to Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. You guys really deserve it for all effort and work to create, develop and share amazing songs in each album since the starting point (Joy Division). Hopeful that until April 28th with the help of the fans around the world the amount of votes that have been collected on Hall of Fame´s homepage you can be among one of the 5 indication positions. Long life and holpeful either that you guys can return/visit my country with a new tour as soon as possible. Best regards from a nostalgic fan from Belo Horizonte City - State of Minas Gerais - Brazil !
@@burnedbeans4170 First of all thanks for your comment. Your reached one of the main issues related the band. However the most important thing is what New Order has provided in the world music history with the fusion of the rock and dance. The competition for the nomination is very hard this year, but there are some indications among the 5 first positions (until now) that don't have the weight and the legacy like those New Order has presented, performed and shared in the last 40 years. If each one of the more 300K fans that use to follow the band's RU-vid Channel vote every day (it's possible after 24 hs the last vote, to return on Hall of Fame's Homepage and vote again until 28th April), I' am sure that easily the Band until 28th April can be among the 5 indications in the cerimony of this year (2023). Best regards from Belo Horizonte City - Brazil
@@marcelos.8462Placed my vote and will do so everyday until Apr 28th plus i'm spreading the word. Currently 7th...JD/NO should easily replace soundgarden in 5th spot. Thanks for the heads up on their possible induction.
@@burnedbeans4170 You're completly right about the 5th position. I´am doing the same everyday - Voting and spreading the word. (Including on band´s RU-vid channel for those ones who use to visit it to watch the videos). Thanks again and best regards!
Hm.That gave me some remainder: Dream Attack was and is so perfect "we split now"-song than could be. Great that they still do programming but yes, VP is great piece of art.
Listened to this tape so many times in the early 90's, while missing the 80's while I was hardly old enough to miss the 80's, while either during my big heart break or getting high on weed and re-discovering skateboarding, that I either know what every song will come on next at the end of each song , or know the words by the first few notes of the new one ,.... Pheww ! , It's all true, Very True. 🤙✨🍀
Minha nossa! Até o chiado do vinil estou ouvindo, nostálgico com força, me senti abrindo minha antiga coleção do New Order. Sem palavras. Obrigado por proporcionar essa experiência.
I was born in October of 1989. Found this record by my mom recommending it after I recommended she listen to Drab Majesty - Cold Souls. I read an article about them and the article quoted the lead singer of Drab Majesty, saying "I derived much of this album's influence from New Order's 'Technique'." I've always loved 80's music, can't believe this is my first time hearing this album. Crazy how this music makes you yearn for a time you weren't even really living in.
I was a 22 year old partying way too hard in Jupiter, Florida. I had issues with just about all aspects of my life and I remember sitting alone on a park bench, getting wasted, watching the inslet water rush to sea, and jam this album loud enough that all of the towns cops knew me for that one reason. The album helped me by being both cheerful, sad, and stern. I might not have gotten so old without it, heh.
A virtual time machine back to my immediate post-college days, the summer I graduated and moved to Atlanta, GA, when I was clubbing like a fiend and working odd temp jobs. FAAAAACCCCKKKKK!!!!! Thank you.
Realmente tem cenas do amistoso BRASIL X INGLATERRA, o John Barnes atacante da Inglaterra participa do videoclipe do New Order - World in Motion, fazendo um rap.
probably my fave NO album over get ready and recorded in ibiza 1989; allegedly hooky was was walking around with a fannypack/bumbag full of sunshine the whole time. mdma
Top shelf from cover to cover. For me the highlight is the quality of last trio. While the average album buries the sludge in the back nine, NO gives us the irresistible Mr. Disco, the pensive Vanishing point and wraps up Dream Attack, showing off their trademark synth and rock fusion. 10/10.
I hadn’t listened to this for decades, not the whole album anyway, but remembered I liked it back in the day. The last three songs are just “ epic” Good call, it’s a not so modern masterpiece.
As a child of the 80's I so eagerly awaited the demise of synth pop that I wrote this off as the fiddling Nero of the impending demise of an unfortunate generation. Only since 2021 have I bothered to give this gem a listen, but I'm not the pimply hippy of my high school, so I have a different set of ears for appreciating a bit of nostalgia I successfully circumvented in its Era of modernity.
