African Harp (n'goni)
You can see the course of production of a sixteen strings N'goni.
The lower part of the hull is made of plastic (polyester); in Africa, they use pumpkins.
I used deer skin, oak wood and olive tree wood.
Everything came out very nicely. 😊
The instrument is also easy to play, it is tuned to a pentatonic scale in E.
Enjoy the movie 😎☀️

Yeah working that fiberglass must have been super fun. Could have used a gourd and taken half the time

It did indeed came out very nicely! I am also building kamelen ngonis, but with gourds. Always wondered if I could replace those with something else. What kind of polyester do you use, specifically? An epoxy? What is the fabric you use? Glass mat? My hart is bleeding a bit, though, to see you working outside with all the plastic dust. Nature is already filled with too much plastics. I'd also suggest to put more tension on the skin.

They appear to be using fiberglass! (I'm guessing) ((Well, it's two year later, so I hope you found an answer before my comment!...)

I've used fiber glass b4 as well. But as a maker why not just source better material. So you can skip the fiberglass
