Hi David, our mutual friend, Roy Smith of Panama, suggested we connect with your channel and see your delightful N Scale layout. I am very impressed and see you have done a lot of creative work. Always fun to see N Scale, as I also have that scale. You have made a wise choice of selecting Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern. That combo offers a lot of choices. I look forward to seeing more of your activities and your layout in the future. Thank you. - Dean from Minnesota USA
Roy Smith sent me.. Just seeing this part of your layout so far shows me a lot of thought has gone into planning. You have unobstructed view the way you've separated the levels and the width of the upper level over top being narrow enough to get the job done without having to peek to see the lower level..excellent job. Also.. it is very interesting how you've located your coal tower on the upper level and allowing easy access to work it.. again..very well thought out. I subbed and clicked the bell so I can follow your updates.
Gi'day Dave, Roy Smith said to come and have a look see. Nice layout , I am also N scale and living over in Perth, WA. Love what you have been doing so far, good work, cheers for sharing
Another new subscriber you can blame on Roy Smith. Enjoyed watching your switching operations at the mine. I have watched your earlier videos, and I am truly impressed with the development of your layout. Looking forward to more. Art...
Just watched Roy Smith's latest video and I liked what I saw on your layout so I have subbed to your channel - I also model N scale right here in beautiful Melbourne, Australia! My primary road is the Rio Grande and I started a new layout in my garage this year. I'm in Mordialloc, down by the beach. It would be nice to have a chat at some time if you are up for it. Cheers and keep up the great work!
Roy Smith sent me over to check your layout, so here I am. Ps3 have no cats, just mention no layout at this time, some day.. Nice layout, shows the workmanship and joy you have put into it, I will be checking it out in the coming future. Thank you for Share.
I enjoyed the video and was glad to see that you had your kitty conductor on hand to help with the moves to the mine. By the way Roy Smith sent me over to your channel.
Hi David my name is Eric i am from Tocumwal up on the Murray i saw you on Roy Smith's channel i have subscribed to your channel your layout looks great i am doing a n scale layout myself and up here there are no hobby shops so i get most of my stuff on line i was wondering where you get your trains and scenery stuff from. Regards Eric.
Hi Eric, most of my track and rollin stock I've got online from places like Modeltrainstuff. For my scenery I go to my local train store Branchline which is just around the corner from me.
Tour layout is superb matey 👍 how do you go about forming your curves with your track and cork underlay.i am pretty new to model railways and not sure how to get the right radius curve with cork and flexi track over the top
michael whitham hi Michael, A friend gave the tip on the cork to cut it in two narrow strips about 15 mm each and lay them along the marked out centreline of the track. I glue them down with PVA glue and place billets of heavy timber on them to keep them as flat as possible until the glue dries. I then lay the track down with a thin layer of silicone and I use the billets again to keep it flat. Apart from the radius on the peninsula I pretty much eye ball the curves. I have a small peco track setter piece that is 12” radius and I use that in parts that I’m worried about the radius being too tight. The same friend also gave me the idea of making a jig to cut the cork strips to make them all uniform as possible. I hope this helps.
By the way I am from Coventry United Kingdom and Class 58s were quite common through Coventry Station they worked the Coventry Colliery to Didcot Power station train headcode 7V90
Hi David. New subscriber. Roy Smith sent me over. Really nice layout your building. I will have to catch up on your video postings. If you haven’t already, subscribe to DJ’s Trains. He is CSX engineer and has a video concerning coal mine operations such as yours. Anthony
