N scale layout update! 

Iv'e been trying to adapt your HO methods to my N-scale layout for quite a while, I'm so glad to see you finally doing N...thanks.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one using Outland Models kits. They're inexpensive, but I by the time I paint up my hospital, it should look just fine. Hope you're enjoying your well earned time off with family. BTW - I received my N scale sidewalks, I ordered. They look great, and I can't wait to get them painted up.

Dear Jason, kinda interesting how you showed the placement on the N scale layout footprint. It’s a cool process. Don’t wanna be the heckler, but you may wanna take another look at your location decisions, the way the N scale setup is now configured (to me) is a bit looking like a copy of the HO scale layout. Might of course be you wanna create the same feel. Especially for your kit design and promotion. Nevertheless, some different aspects might be needed to make the difference between the two scales. Given this is N scale, you may wanna consider some piers like Doug was having trouble placing them on his layout. Think such piers will look awesome on the N scale footprint. Absolutely love those steel arch bridges, girders and webbed columns. Cheerio

Jason, My new kit of yours finally got on the work bench. As you are finding out you can model a lot in a smaller space with N scale. Remember your diner build in HO? I made a office building using the same technic. I cut out the windows placed them behind to give it a 3d effect. Have not decided on color for your kit but your instructions are great to follow.

Jason you should market your N scale details , I think there would be a demand for items like these. You can never have enough detail especially in N scale which is the challenge. Also the refinery structure by the bridge is that a kit or a scratchbuilt structure? Speaking of lights that structure would be a natural for it. I know it would be hard to light at that small scale but it would look great. Maybe use fiber optics which you could incorporate into the detailing as cabling or piping on the framework. As usual GREAT JOB!!!

When Working On N Scale Work It Slowly Cause things my Change for Me I’m Working Slowly on 2 N Scale Layouts One For My Wife And Mine Is In The Basement With My Ho.

I don't know how you have the energy to be building three layouts, plus design work etc! If jumping in and doing the planning in 3D works for you, then why not? We all have our different methods, and with a simple set of loops of track, you certainly don't need to be sat for hours on track planning software. You probably get a more natural look with the landscape (urban or otherwise) first, as it means the railway will have to fit in that landscape, not the other way round.

Ever consider doing a box cab that would fit a Kato NW2?

Jason, are selling those girder supports pieces that you have laser cut? I am building an elevated track system and will have to scratch build all of it because of the track plan but these would make it sooo much easier!

Any chance of a subway or trolly line on the upper level?
