Good useful video. I wonder if you could help me get started with some XPR 5550's I just picked up. I m trying to program them for amateur use and prefer to use the Bluetooth connection. The first question I had was with CPS and which version to use. I started with CPS 2.0 and a Windows 10 computer but got and error message. I tried an older version (R05.00) and got the same message which barks about the cable (I am using Bluetooth). The message is: Communication Error. For RM and RMM Series radio, please toggle the USB cable to ANALOG (CPS) mode. For DLR Series radio, please toggle the USB cable to DIGITAL (Flash) mode. Any insight you could offer in how to get started with these radios would be great. 73, Steve, WA0A
Use 16cps 823 build and save your code plugs there... If you save a code plug in 2cps it will not open in previous versions.. you can open 16 code plug in 2 and read and write to it but do not save the code plug in 2... Save the code in 16 ...16 is great for opening several code plugs at once from different radios for editing by coping and pasting in the same window
Too bad these locks are not available on the XTL P25 capable radios. Kenwood already had passcode protect on their radios from the early 2000’s for both use and programming. Keeps mosey individuals from looking at what’s programmed into the radio.
Why try to unlock the password code plug ??....Just clone another code plug of your choosing to the locked radio . it will write over the locked one .. and now you can read and write to the radio any time you want to.....now the locked code plug is gone...
