My wife is very supportive of my solo trips which can last a couple of months. But, to travel with my wife on her own bike and staying/eating in great hotels and eateries would be a dream come true. You are a lucky man. Enjoyed the video needless to say.
excellent planning and nice mountain scenic riding, even the village ride seemed quite fun to watch go by, oh i'm glad to see trident doing so well over there, definitely picked the right motorcycle!
Great video and information. I've just decided today to do a fly/hire trip for my birthday in May. Landing at Faro and hiring a Triumph Speed Twin from Soulful Bikes. My plan is to spend 6 days riding up to the Duoro Valley and back. Can't wait!
Great video John, I have a trip booked to Portugal in September and will follow this route, and maybe a few detours, it’s looks excellent, I love the idea of the passport,
Very nice and well explained in every detail video. By the way, all your videos are very instructive. I also ordered a trident as a 2nd engine, which is why I ended up on your videos. Until the next one and keep you both safe. ✌
Staying in hotels also means not having to carry lots more luggage which would use more fuel. I liked Portugal in 1986 when I went there and still like the look of it.
I did a lot of longest roads, Port Augusta to Darwin, Darwin to Broome to Perth, Perth to Port Augusta, Melbourne to Sidney, Brisbane to Cairns, Cairns to Coocktown and so on. A complete round trip of Australia and a coupe of times straight thru the continent. The N7 in France or the Route Napoleon. And so on. There are a lot of longest routes every country has them.
@@John_Neves Yes the Romantische Straße in Germany : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romantic_Road, the A1 in the UK : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A1_road_(Great_Britain). In Belgium we don't have long roads, neither in Holland or Luxemburg. Spain and France are good I did a lot of driving there as Germany, Austria and Switzerland. I am not familiar with Italy or Portugal and that is the reason I follow your channel.
@@Jay_Speed Fantastic man! The A1 i have already done on a Scotland trip. Not much to say really :) Romantische Route is on our list :) We are actually planning Spain, "Ruta De La Plata", so that should be the next. But i´ll be having some smaller roads in between. Thanks for following the channel. I hope it stays interesting for you 😉👍 If you do remember any other "Longest Road" please, do get back to me ;)
@@John_Neves A route we did years ago every year was from Kufstein in Austria to Hermagor Pressesger-See over the Grosclocner. We stayed there for a week. In those years it was a nice drive. Don't now of it still is. Otherwise we have some really nice routes in Luxemburg, but yes it is a small country. Every year we go there for a long weekend of driving.
@@John_Neves I live in Canada and have made videos of my travels around western Canada and USA. with my wife. Looking forward to a month long trip to Portugal this summer.
@routemainstreet wow that's great! However, i wouldn't recommend riding around Portugal in July/August. It's ridiculous hot... 40+c in some areas.. My bikes hardly leave my garage in those months. 👍 Best rent a convertible with AC 😁 If you would like to know some of the best places to visit, just give me a nudge. I'd be happy to help out 👍
Thanks for your comment 😁 It is indeed a fantastic road. Luggage: Hepco & Becker. Review here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mL9LesMaATw.html GPX? Sorry i don't. But in the description, you do have the google maps with all the way points. Just open the map on your smartphone and you're good to go 👍
Great.! I´m from Brazil and today I´m planning to buy a moto like yours.. I love Triumph Trident 660. Ps.: I have a CB 650R (It´s a new moto - only 3 thousands kilometers, but I think the Trident is more confortable to travel, and I´m gonna sell mine to buy one Tridents 660.. God always bless you.
Olá amigo! Antes de trocar tente fazer um teste ride. A Trident é bastante confortável sim Não é nenhuma goldwing claro, mas é bem mais maneirinha 👍💪 Boas curvas 🏍🏍
This is a find. I live in Lagos for a fair bit of the year. Have done for the last 10 years. H&B Orbit would be my choice of luggage. N22: I have heard about this road but never ridden it as I usually head to Spain for my trips. That peg broke too easily. Really disappointing to scratch a new bike. I knocked my B-King over with my swing-over garage door some years back. 1,500 km is some bike trip when you've just passed your test. With a surname like Neves, are you half Portuguese?
Hey there🙂 Glad you enjoyed the video. It is indeed a great ride 👍 We're actually planning Spain for our next trip and video. Anything you would recommend? It would have to be a large known route though 😉 We're thinking the Ruta de la Plata.... seems nice. Yeah... it was a bummer to damage a new bike, but hey, she's learning so i guess it's just part of the process. Surname: Portuguese parents, raised in England and moved over to Portugal some time ago. Take care man 👍👌
@@John_Neves I could tell by your English you must have spent a long time there. I am from Yorkshire but lived most of my working life in London. Spain: the west side is very nice. The Picos and I like around Burgos. Everywhere really. I rode down to Portugal 17 times before I moved to Lagos. Regards, Nick
Enjoyed the video but "one of the longest roads in the world", who do they think they are fooling? 750kms barely gets me to Norseman, never mind Adelaide or Melbourne.
Hey there 👋 Thanks for watching 👍 This is one road mind you. Not a highway, not a freeway. It's just a road with the designation N2. Usually long routes are formed of various roads with many different designations, that's what makes this one a little different. Are the ones you mention also simple roads? Or are they highways and sets of roads?
