I actually ended up doing that when I installed the engine back in the car, I ground it down with my bench grinder and got it to go down a few more threads, worked out in the end.
@@carsnstuff6022 usually everyone realizes this when doing the oilpan , almost all the support bars are not tall enough and hits the hook! My E46 tow hook fits in the e9xs perfectly weird how they did that!
sure so I got mine from Lowes, the bolts are grade 8.8 bolts, the size and thread pitch are M12 1.75x80 I paired that up with 12mm washer one flat washer with a crush washer I did not torque the bolts down I just got them good and tight with a ratchet, good luck with your project btw.
@@carsnstuff6022 thanks for the reply. I found a result that seemed to indicate the bell housing bolts (M12x90) should be torqued to 53 ft/lbs. that seems to be holding just fine for me
@@michaelgordon9832 Nice yeah that sounds about right, I think that's the torque spec for the bellhousing bolts in the car so I would imagine that's also good on the stand as well.
@@carsnstuff6022 right, that's what i was searching for (the bell hosing torque specs). didn't want to over torque the bolts and ruin the block doing something stupid like that lol
@@michaelgordon9832 right on man well thanks for the info!! I have an update I need post, I am doing a whole build with this engine, I finally sourced a crankshaft I will be using and some other goodies, if you wanna follow my channel I'll have it posted soon also will be taking my block and crank to a machine shop, I'm using youtube just to document my experience and maybe it'll help other people or at least they learn from my mistakes, I'm sure there will be some, hopefully not too many.
