We purchased a Mooney M20K 231, after sellling a Piper Cherokee 140 I completely brought back to life after she was sitting on the ramp for 10 years (See video on my channel). As an A&P, IA for 35 years, I ended up doing a complete interior makeover for the joy and love of aviation; including the cosmetic interior, wirings, and avionics. This was the best experience I've had to date, refurbishing an airplane, the outcome was amazing and now my family can enjoy for a little while before we sell and move on to our next project.
