This was simply a well written story where female friendship was greater than main lead couple. I Love them so much, these both girls had the best chemistry in the entire drama 🤍 love HEERIM 😩🤍
that press conference scene was too intense, i legit thought they were gonna kiss and they probably would if this was a gl. the set-up, the cinematography, the sappy AF dialog, this had romantic undertones and you can't convince me otherwise. heerim is the gl coupe deserve but didnt get
@@alexisyusti220 I'm sorry you cant see it! 2521 is so much more interesting as a GL. Heerim checks a lot of boxes of romance cliches: idol-fan, childhood connection, sports rivals, started out as enemies, the anonymous online friend, first meeting gone wrong, saving the person you don't like despite not being on good terms, dramatic confession/reconciliation, high school bffs, etc. They way they're shot, especially the failed meet-up scene, takes cues from romantic (hetero!) films. What makes this scene important is that the director knows how to frame a relationship as purely platonic - look at how they shot Seungwan & Jiwoong - unmistakably platonic. Bona even acknowledges the non-gender specific romantic lines in the drama, and that should tell you something. The show didn't make it appear like Ryder and Injeolmi had thoughts of liking each other romantically, but the framing of their meet is pushing that angle. You can't fault me and everyone else for noticing that when the show itself is drawing your attention to it. They probably reviewed the shots hundreds of times to see that Heerim has more chemistry than Yurim/Jiwoong and did something to heighten the romantic tension between them. But what did they do? In the finale, Jiwoong shoves his engagement ring up Yurim's finger without waiting for a reply. She accepts, but all he got was a cheek kiss? In that same episode, we get the Heedo/Yurim presscon scene with just prolonged staring, but sparks are already flying. Storytelling is about show, not tell and 2521's gl subtext is there and was intentionally put there. They knew what they were doing
The public is still not that accepting. This is the safest way to show but also protect their story in 2521. I'm glad that at least they make Heedo and Yurim happened the way they did.
Can’t believe the writer and producers combined such romantic elements into one relationship and decided it was not love just because they are two girls 😡😡😡. If one of them were a boy, things would have been different. Still don’t understand why they bothered emphasizing romantic undertones between Heedo and Yurim if they didn’t intend to address their relationship on a more intimate level.
I truly think that a female friend beyond any conditions or commitments and still standing by each other is what I needed to see.❤ But you are right that kdrama needs to evolve and get gl drama ❤❤

It's because BL kdramas are more profitable, they make more money, more ratings, it's more popular among the female audience. Women consume a lot of BL. They spend all their money on BL. In a way, it can be said that the BL has more time; It has its own roots, from a long, long time ago. There are gay writers, gay directors, gay actors, there are more gay men and straight women who consume BL content. That is to say a lot of money for the producers. I like GL but I prefer to wait a while for them to make GL stories that are worthwhile.
BL are more profitable and have more viewers. Most kdrama viewers are women and a lot of people who watch/read/and even write BL are also women. But with GL, most straight women who are the audience for romance kdrama's including BL won't watch GL. Even when it comes to webtoons, there's way more BL than GL.
Why straight women will watch BL drama if it’s about gay couple I don’t understand that at all! But they won’t watch Gl dramas😳. Korea producers should know that they dramas are watch not by only Koreans but around the world and surely they will have a lot of gay women who will watch it!!!
why heedo choose her husband(idk who). yurim is a lot better. even i like yijin more(cause im straight) but if it yurim. i can totally understand. just who didnt want yurim as there partner? beautiful. kind. even a straight girl like me want a girl like yurim
