And sridevi was the leading lady. --------------- things only changed in 90 with arrival of young guys: jackie, anil,deol,govinda, kumar gaurav etc etc then it changed with meenakshi, madhuri etc. like they did not have to do lot of south films to move to hollywood to make it big. even today hindi girls use south indian movies as platform to make it big in hindi cinema. ------------------------ the original bombay, delhi girls do not have time due to bombays way of life. calcutta and delhi also similar. Aish,deepika from south, juhi had break from south, rekha herself was south and who else? -------------------------- there were couple of heroines on par with vijayanti-mala but because bombay was very far from madras( capital of south films) it was hard for them to go there and live and make movies. -------------------------- feroz khan lived in bangalore he had tough time going to bombay to make films. he made very few films but look at quality. -------------------------------- sridevi is modern superstar of-course but there were others too especially jayaprada( amitabhs favourite)
