I really wonder what kind of people are here on youtube and making thumbs down to such wonderful successful creativity and positive example for everybody!
As I was totally enthralled to watch a brilliant demonstration of talent and resourcefulness (the first time I've ever seen such an amazingly simple instrument used so brilliantly), I scroll down down to see such disgusting discourse within the comment section. Time to for us to evolve as a species!
True sons of Congo, singing an uplifting song, simply by saying nalingi yo! They are purely saying I love you; I love you like I love myself. They still have a place for love despite of all the struggles in daily life, their music is inclusive and transcend barriers imposed by the civilisation, it carries with it the message of love & bright future, little boy manage to release good vibrations from the song by simply playing one string instrument, magic! Thanks brothers! Bless you all.
This is people of my country.. One soul just like youn can't see in any other part of this universe!! RD Congo, Kinshasa, my home.. I just wish peace for all of you!!
No conocía el instrumento que ejecuta el jovencito. Este ritmo puede ser tomado como la raíz de muchas mezclas que se escucharán en adelante. Exelente!!! Nuestra raíz, nuestra sangre..... Afrocolombianos!!!!
This is music from the Congolese people, who are the world's most naturally gifted musicians. However, their country has officially undergone the worst war since World war 2-over 5 million dead in 6 years. In fact ,notice the military soldier in the video slinging a gun in background at 02:43min. This people have never known peace. This song is a gem created under adverse conditions you cannot imagine or comprehend
I saw them perform live in Utrecht, the Netherlands last year and the were great, awesome, funky, wonderful, jazzy, rocking, cool and smashing ! One of the guys in a wheelchair even fainted for some minutes but continued the show, I LOVE THEM !!
I just have been at the movie theater and watched "Staff Benda Bilili"- Sooooooooo great and uplifting and the very best: A TRUE SUCCESS story and example that everybody has something worthy to share with the world- no matter what imperfections are otherwise! Don't let school or religions tell you you can't do it if you don't follow their false rules and that you should leave it to someone outside of you to decide what you can do!
Le Congo, notre cher pays est tres Riche. What a talent!! I wish you all the best dispite the current turmoils and the lack of a state that can give you a decent social support, etc. I have a dream that one day it will be over. May the Lord bless Congo and all his people! Love you guys.
such great music for such a horrible audience is an injustice. lovers of purity of music, ambition, and resourcefulness, enjoy... ignore the foolish and hateful.
interesting point about james brown, ali but i think the ancestors of these men probably knew this music too. still very beautiful regardless of origin or influence. peace
excellent!...les congos(brazza/kinsha) et autres pays d'Afrique se relèveront ils un jour des blessures infligées depuis tant de siècles???...ça commence!
the music is just so cool. really, really coool. ps to all the haters on this string... get a life do you really have so little going on in your lives that you write ignorant hate here?
interesting contrast.. cool grooves.. rudimentry sounds.. and armed guards walking around.. Oh yea.. and even in the Congo the lead guitar players get the chicks..... what a world, very cool stuff
