@@governmentblankets8077 1) we never called them gods, so, uh... Sorry to burst _that_ bubble. 2) There's probably loads of music you like better, or who legitimately made better music. But it's a matter of opinion and musical taste, not "whos actually the best?". also typing random numbers on your keyboard and saying you can list off that many musicians... Unless you're Apollo himself, I don't think so. Not without Google, at least.
Its a pentatonic scale its basically just a major scale with the three "risky" notes taken out, by risky i mean they won't always sound good when played with other notes in the scale, where as basically any note in a pentatonic scale sounds good with any other note from the scale.
Anyone who says that the My Chemical Romance members are untalented clearly need to watch this. You may not personally like them, but saying they're untalented is basically sacrilege.
@@sebastiankrolak8859 And so does mcr. It's all whining and teen angst. These people are grown adults. Somehow pop music has the least elitism of all genres
Yeah, it really is, but the cool thing about any instrument is being able to do one thing pretty well can make it sound really complicated and awesome. With guitar, learning scales and easy riffs can make it look way more difficult than it actually is. However, Ray Toro is fucking spectacular at guitar, and Frank is really talented as well. So I'm not playing them down or saying they aren't talented.
Too many good things in this video. Franks hands The fro Rays awesomeness Their awesomeness Them playing guitar Playing super hard stuff and saying it's simple Just them
I just fricking love it when they build up to play then just stop and go back to talking like they haven't just blown my goddamn mind. Jesus Christ. And please tell me I wasn't the only one singing along... please... .-.
Being a guitar player, Na Na Na is honestly one of their super simpler songs. Even the solo is really simple: just some tapping and the main riff a few octaves higher.
I have NEVER seen MCR do tapping. I think what you meant were the hammer ons/pull offs including super fucking high gain and some reverb. Still though, I agree. Super simple stuff but it sounds great c:
it's called legato, you sustain a note by keeping your finger on the fret until you can hear the sound start to dissapate then up/down to the next fret but half hama-ing on the next fret, it's hard to explain to someone who I guess (not meaning to be rude if you do actually play) guitar.
Wait, now that I look at it again...I don't think Frank touched anything on his guitar...Sorry! I have no idea how he did it now...but I know some guitars do that
1. THEY ARE SO TALENTED AND AMAZING! 2. WHEN THEY PLAYED MAMA 😍 3. {For beginners, the pros got this}. Ray: "Easy". Me: "Come again? I can't even strum a chord." 4. COME BACK! WE MISS YOOOOU!!!
This video impresses me not only because these two are actually damn good at playing guitar, but because it feels like they're so coordinated. If one starts a riff, the other can just jump right in on it and make something that sounds twice as cool.
Me: Omg yay finally a lesson by frank and ray! Frank: *starts* Me: Okay I know that part Ray: *starts soloing* Me: ...you know what, i'll come back another time.
Like Vasil said, the intro is not very hard. Once you get it flowing, it just comes to you. This song is actually what made me start playing guitar when i gave up at first XD
To everyone who thinks they're joking when they say it's simple, they aren't...the riff is cool but cool doesn't mean hard listen to This Is How It Goes by Billy Talent some really cool riffs, and it's relatively simple. NaNaNa is great for a novice guitarist super cool and it's also fun and easy to play, it sounds tough so yoy can show people the riff and they'll be amazed when really it is simple.
Holy christ, this is awesome! I'd pay cash money to see a dvd of them just shooting the shit & tossing riffs back & forth. There's something special getting to watch their fingers fly up & down the frets, so fast yet with complete precision, without the camera shaking back & forth or the sound being distorted by the crowd. And then Ray slipped into "Mama", Frank joining in, his sound floating just a little above Ray's. It slays me how they've managed to merge their styles, creating melodies that blend & complement each other. I especially love the casual ease they show as they're doing these amazing things with their instruments.
every now and then I like to come and watch this video because it honestly shows how f-in talented both frank and Ray are, and plus the riffs give me life
Title- learn. Me- *watches vid in hopes of achieving some level of greatness* Ray- *plays amazing guitar rift that I could never replicate without years of teaching and crying in corners* Also Ray- so its super simple
+mikeyb1335 yeah, and I now see how easy it actually kinda is. I posted that comment two months ago. Since then I've had several guitar lessons and practices
Devyn Rae it's kind of like a scale so it's super easy to remember if your practice it.If you play guitar then you would probably relate.Idk scales are super easy to remember for me so some reason! :)
I feel. But the recording version is much simpler. Like Frank said, they enjoy spicing things up live so when they recorded this they changed a few things and made it a tad bit harder c:
The darkness of that Sabbath flavoring just gets me right in the cerebral cortex AND the guts. When they played the riff from Mama, they opened a portal to the netherworld. They're literally sorcerers.
PINK GUY! And actually that's not a Wilshire. It's called the Phant-o-matic, frank had it custom made. Its pretty much a mash up of a Wilshire and a Les Paul
Me: *takes guitar lessons, puts heart and soul into learning even though my hands are smaller than average* Ray: *plays an amazing riff* so, it's super simple Me: *cuts off hands* I'll never be a good musician
frank and ray: *play amazing guitar riff that kills me* frank and ray: so yeah anyway frank and ray: *shred the guitar like theres no tomorrow* frank and ray: so yeah its like super simple :) just messing around :)))) no big deal :))))))) me: okay....sounds fake but okay
coming back to this video after two years of guitar is like "wow yeah ray is right, it is super simple" and sometimes the simplest riffs are the most catchiest ones or the ones that capture a particular feeling the best, like the dark bit in mama it sounds so dark but in actuality is so easy to play, anyway; now im really reflecting on how these two guys bounce of off each other so well when writing music it makes me want to be a fly on the wall on those recording sessions
Everyone: **cries in frustration because of how flawlessly Ray and Frank can play** Me, a violinist: **sigh** I have accepted long ago that I will never compare to the 12 year old prodigies.
