Na Na Na Surprise Isn't Making Sense to Me 

I don't own any nananas but they always looked cute and the soft fabric aspect had me really interested!! I didn't see these new dolls before this video and it's also thrown me for a loop lol. Like you said they've lost the one thing that really set them apart.. they're still cute but not worth $25 🙊

As a doll collector and a mom of a budding doll collector 2:47 NaNaNa Surprise was really good doll brand for younger kids who wanted fabric fashions, but not as complicated as an LOL, Rainbow High, or Barbie. I always thought they were really cute and we got a lot of them. We enjoyed the teens as well. As a brand they either were really popular or they completely missed the mark with their designs. Cost was definitely a factor, so I was thinking MGA was cancelling the line. Then the minis came out, so I thought ok MGA wants to do a different LOL ball type doll. The peel one is a hard no for both of us. The cost is way too high for a doll with plastic clothes, especially at the original size. The mini's are cool, small, nice to display, and a reasonable price. They have done an original and teen line this 15:47 past year on Amazon, but I think Target not carrying them after the shipping issues they had with the Glam Series(different countries) hasn't helped. I agree, the LOL Surprise dolls that had the peel off reveals were sticky underneath, I am not buying these! I like the clothe and clothes more. I only own one, the Pirate girl.

I love the original NaNaNas. They are so unique, they have good quality clothes and the softest hair. I am sorry to see them go. I feel like the new plastic ones don't have the same charm, and yes, the price is too high.

I liked the fabric bodies and fabric clothes they were cute but the basic articulation and lack of stand were the main reasons why I never bought them and yes the baseline price was also a detriment for me. I only like the rooted hair addition as the teens drew me more with the removable hat and hair stayed on but switching to all plastic bodies and plastic clothes is a miss for me.

I've also always been confused by NaNaNa. I love their cloth faces - kind of a throwback to original Raggedy Ann dolls. But the prices have kept me from purchasing more than just a few. Canadian prices are higher. I would love to be able to pay $25 instead of $30-$40. The minis were mostly reasonably priced at $15, but they are so tiny and lose the cloth factor (except for the teenie cloth socks). Having them the same price as an OMG is even more confusing! It's hard to realize that MGA makes both brands with such inconsistent pricing. Great video. Nice to know I'm not the only one thinking all this stuff. 👍👍👍

Your shirt is so cute. I only have one Nanana doll that came with the big family set and I have like 4 Teens. My fav is the one that's dressed in a trash bag and I keep her by my desk. I think parents/grandparents are really into Nananas for their children than other MGA dolls although i'm also not sure how that's working for these plastic ones. side note but those NA glasses on that doll you showed are infuriatingly dumb to me lmao

I’m glad someone addressed the price issue. I love NaNaNa Surprise and have a few dolls but absolutely cannot collect as many as I’d like due to the outrageous pricing of the brand. I live in Australia so the price is flipping insane and even while I was in the states it was just as ridiculous. I would only purchase them on clearance or second hand. I have little hope for this brand these days. Feels like the rebranding and the new line is just to compete with Barbie’s Color Reveal series which is so cheaply made and gimmicky. We already have Dream Ella for that and she’s more afforable.

It makes no sense to me either. I liked how the fabric aspect made them different. I have a bunch of the smaller ones and most of the teens. I could have got on board with them switching from the fabric to plastic but I can’t get on board with the plastic clothing and the $25 price. I personally don’t care about peeling off “fuzz” that is going to make a mess. It’s sad but at least my wallet can relax a little bit.

Totally understand the price is offputting, but knowing these clearance out, except the minis, I will continue to add to my collection. Too many cute cats to pass up. I can't resist. I actually prefer the eyes on the cloth dolls but you should at least get the mini of Tuesday. I'm not sure about the peelable fashions. I like the cozy suit and hat though, so I will be getting all the cats, on sale. 😁 MUST have all the kitty's.

Yeah, you're right. They did kinda start fizzling out in popularity by the time they became more diverse which is sad. I really enjoyed the first few waves, but then my local Targets and Walmarts didn't order wave 3, and they became hard to find in person. I think the last one I bought was the Mermaid one. They were always way over priced for what you got and this was way before 2020 aka pandemic inflation. You couldn't remove the hats, and if you did you were in for a Na Na Na Surprise nightmare because they are actually bald. They save money by only sewing a ring of hair onto the hat it self. They didn't include a doll stand for the $20 price point like OMG's did. Finding a stand for them is hard because they are short, and chubby dolls. Plus all the instagram photos / advertising for them clearly show them bending their knees, and elbow which implies that at some point they were supposed to have wires inside of them which the bigger more expensive teen dolls did have, but the standard core line never had it despite showing them holding poses in advertising.

Ur right, these dolls are too expensive lol. Although their cute, some Gen 3 Monster High, LoL surprise, and Rainbow High dolls are being sold for that same price. Some even lower with the clearance sales going on. Also I think those Magic Mixies Pixlings dolls are cheaper than these dolls :/

For me, it was definitely the price that deterred me and I almost always bought them on sale when I got them. I honestly thought it was the fabric overlay and the pouches (whatever those fabric purses that the dolls originally came in) that made them so expensive but I guess not 🤔

I think the lack of articulation also contributed to their sales. In a child's view, once the gimmick of the confetti and the reveal is over there is not much you can do with the doll. I own a couple of them, including the one you're holding called Tuesday Meow that I was able to purchase on the secondary market for way below their original price. I thought they were done considering the minis never appeared on stores shelves just availble on Amazon. Can you share the link of where you saw these? You're absolutely right in feeling confused of not only the subpar design but of the price. MGA owns other more successful doll lines, Na Na Na Surprise could be retired. The only reason I can think of the continuation is to either keep the patent of the idea from competitors or some CEO's niece made it and killing a family members product would make things awkward at Thanksgiving😀.

wow??? i almost thrifted some na! na! na! dolls because they're cute and i loved the fabric thing they had going on but i didn't know about the price and DEFINITELY didn't know about the new dolls being that same price. that's just ridiculous honestly. yeah i seriously don't get that, you're certainly not alone there!!!

The only NaNaNa dolls I have are the teens. I have Keiko koibinori, Lila lamb & Samantha Smartie & these are the only ones that I have bought due to the price of £25-30 Being more justified: they are 15" dolls that are fully fabric dolls, have creative fashions & good quality. Other than these, I'm not interested in NaNaNa becouse unfortunately the price point sucks

I wouldn't mind the price if the fuzzy part was an actual lil fabric onesie outfit not just some rubbish peel of one and done thing!

Sigh, yeah I do NOT like the new direction they're going in. Like THE best dolls the brand ever made were teens s3 with Keiko the koi fish, Odette the swan, and Queenie the peacock. Don't like the crab but the crab is looking fantastic right now. While that line came out (but only ever at certain online resellers like the company had to want the brand to tank when I could never find them in stores) the OTHER best line being the birthstone line came out. We still have not gotten the second half of the year for the birthstones to this day is such as shame they were excellent quallity. For me the total removal of fabric clothes is unacceptable. I can't stand that regardless of price but they took away fabric clothes AND kept at the same price??? NO , no no no. So I AM both upset about the rebrand and upset about the cost.

After I saw teens series 3 I couldn't see anything else... I preferred them without the hats and I loved how they got creative with the animal themes a lot of the time i don't understand what animal a doll us supposed to be haha

I understand your feelings... I have five Nanana surprises and one Teens, all bought on discount. I have always refused to buy them at full price because I think they are too expensive. By now I think Mga is going by trial and error with these dolls and I think we will say goodbye to them soon. I didn't buy the minis because I don't like them, they look like fake Chinese dolls and I don't think I'll buy the Fuzzy either..

I think MGA is having an identity crisis as a company. Rainbow high is going down hill with the name’s Nanana is not doing fabric dolls. The only doll line’s that are doing okay is Bratz and L.O.L. Please stop MGA I can’t handle all the problems with your company. I love rainbow high with my life but I can’t handle this anymore. So get sum help MGA.

I'm so disappointed in these to be honest ... I have literally all the na na na's that came out in recent years ... From serie 1 to the cozy series and Valentine and gem series , to all the series of the teens , slumberparty, camping ... Just everything ... The na na na mini serie 1 I also collected them all and now I try to get the second serie ... But my god what did they do with the dolls after those ? I mean ... I understand the little ones being all plastic and plastic clothes but not the big ones though , I collected them all because I fell in love with the dolls due to them being fabric and the cute fabric clothes ! (I also collect L.O.L. surprise dolls and also have the Lalaloopsy ones ...) But I don't know ...I'm kinda torn that they took away the only uniqueness the doll had and that was the fabric part (clothes and body part ...) , I want to give the plastic ones a chance but I'm just torn about it ... MGA is making a lot of weird choices.... First they canceled two fierce dolls from the L.O.L. franchise , Wich A LOT of people were looking out for , and now this ? I just hope it's not because they want to focus on these Bratz dolls because barbie got popular again due to the movie that came out recently 😩😩😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 I'm really dissepointed in MGA! 😢

Bro na na na is so ugly right now no offence. I have michael, nina, blu sailor, paula, Katherine,tuesday and misha and they were brought ages ago as you can tell 5 from 2nd series then 2 from different series and they're in good condition. But i had 1 plastic doll that were part of the minis and it was CJ but that didnt last LONG
