Yeah tbf this video is a bait. Knowing the game that got the baus banned was illoui, I thought that this was the one, but in reality was a different game, but it's funny seeing you try to be first one that comments on it without even watching the video.
@@alaapanga3640 illaoi is designed to fight outnumbered but if she fights 1v1 she can easily get abused by dodging her e and walking out of ult range especially since lots of toplaners that are well liked in high elo have dashes like fiora, riven, camille akshan, ornn pretty much you trade hp for ult and dodge e and illaoi just kind of falls appart. High elo players realise how to take advantage of that to abuse illaoi early so hard that she struggles to function. She nonetheless is very good at fight outnumbered but that’s not how you’re supposed to play against her and whenever people autopilot illaoi starts to look op again

@@alaapanga3640 He got ganked twice and both times Baus was pushed up as a champion with no way to escape ganks. A good champ would have been harder to gank. Or at least would've been able to avoid a lot more of those deaths. Or maybe had a few return kills. Or at least done anything except uselessly push a lane for the entire game, except that's all Illaoi can ever do since she's so garbage outside of lane. Plus Naayil played terribly that fight. Missed every sweetspot and permanently stood inside 3 tentacles despite literally just needing to wait it out and then kill her.
@@jacobnorris8256 i know in high elo illaoi gets perma ganked thats why she is considered weak but thats the point you put the whole faith in your jungler + if the jg is always top to help against illaoi enemy jg can secure at least 1 or 2 free drakes thats what makes it unfair why is there a champ that requires 2 or more people to shutdown without even being fed
As someone who plays tanks top a lot: Yes, Illaoi is the bane of our existance. The number 1 Shen player, xPetu, really just says "dodge the E or dodge the game" and "If you get hit with E dash out of its range".
Yea but he said that because that's why she is op in silver, not op against tanks. He was talking about how you need to learn how to dodge her skillshots. xPetu does not lose the illaoi matchu for that reason.
@@legowarcreator She is op against tanks because tanks are mainly linear, meaning engaging her makes it pretty easy for her to land her E, and because they can't outdamage her like that head on like Aatrox could. Literally every tank is listed as "easy/medium" matchup against her, beside K'sante, being a tank Yasuo. She can also outpush many of them, such as Malphite or Cho'gath, but especially Shen. And trying to farm against Illaoi under tower is asking to be hit by tentacles. And yes he is talking about how you need to learn to dodge her E. But that doesn't negate the fact she is op against tanks. When I play with Shen against her, I can literally dodge like 10 E-s, and position myself so she can't hit me all I like, once she hits me, she takes control of the lane. And I lose. Zero counterplay by that point, I back off to get rid of E, play the minigame, and she shoves a wave into my face and starts harassing me with her E under tower usually. And let's not forget how as a melee cs-ing against her makes it easy to land her Q, especially with how random minion behavior and pathing can be for you, so you can't really react and dodge it sometimes. Even if it misses, she pushes the wave. A bruiser could punish this. A tank? Less so.
@@katamas832 Naayil is definitely undervaluing Illaoi in solo queue. unless the top and jg are duo and in coms, you're usually not gonna get a gank once Illaoi hits 6. Illaoi's whole schtick is just what you said, land one E, force the enemy laner to play the minigame, and then shove them under turret where you can repeat the process. once Illaoi has lane control set up, there's almost no way you're taking it back. Naayil doesn't see the issue because he plays strictly Aatrox, who doesn't have nearly as much trouble dunking on an Illaoi in lane.
@@Dracon350 he undervalues her a lot because he does not have a completely close melee all-in as Aatrox. Champions like Jax or Trundle (traditional bruisers really who go really up close) have an insanely hard time with the match-up, even Stevens says this when he plays Jax.
Xpetu said that in a video meant to explain how easy a matchup illaoi is and the video is titled ‘most understood matchup’. She is easy, just stand behind minions, if you get hit by E, walk out don’t fight or stand there. Another tip is once you get hit by e and walk out, don’t kill the tentacle that spawns because it will just spawn another one. If you don’t kill it, it won’t spawn another one and you can easily dodge it the second time. When she ults, leave. Her entire kit can be countered by just walking away, all her abilities make her stand in place so its really not hard.
He only lost bailing his failed team out of Barons and Dragons whilst they pushed midlane. If he stuck to pushing top the team would've fed failed before he hit top inhib.

@@bluenosaurus2720 He literally explained why the charts make it feel like he’s dealing a lot of damage. He was constantly fighting Aatrox, who had barely any armor but heals a fuck ton, so he basically “farmed” the damage numbers from it. The damage taken is simply just from him dying on repeat, Aatrox barely even fight anyone the whole game. Only take statistic charts like the one in the game’s client as granted, it proves nothing.
Not to mention the ADC banning Sion. Wonder why that is. Surely he bans that every single game out of sheer fear of running into Baus. Surely not a stream sniper. Clueless
The thing with Yorick is like, I know what I’m supposed to do but I just can’t dodge his E consistently, for Illaoi I can constantly dodge her E and win just fine but Yorick feels so much harder to beat
@@RiverNunu Yorick you just zone no? Keep him away from the waves and freeze it so he cant get ghouls. If he uses R for ghouls, call in a jgl gank when he overextends to kill them both ideally, but jgl smite does 1200 dmg to Maiden so you can just pick her off. Main prob if youre playing Aatrox is he can't clear ghouls well, and the ghouls will eventually apply antiheal and slow to you so you really can not ignore them. Aatrox also can not easily snipe Maiden, he needs to all in with passive (but he gets no healing since not a champion so this is actually risky now)
Actually crazy that he's trash talking illaoi and baus when he got his lane camped every kill and died the first time someone came to his lane to a 0-8 illaoi...
at 5 minutes, is exactly what people are talking about when they say illaoi is broken, he's down to a 6/0 aatrox and he still almost 1 shot you with abilities you couldn't dodge cause it's his ult tentacles... You had to flash to kill him, if he got 1 more W on you you would have died.
@@felipdn3329 If he W's you while his ult is up, the tentacles hit instantly and they're not choreographed, they just smack straight down on your head instantly. That's not dodgeable. You have to completely be disengaged so what, you have to hold your E incase he ults? Giving you no dmg to poke him down? Illaoi is fucked bro.
It depends ,you should pay attention if there is an tentacle near the soul of e.That means you cant tank e's dmg or outrade illaoi to protect the soul..If u bait her e and misses,u have a cd window to clear 1 or 2 tentacles and illaoi cant touch u..Mordekaiser is a solid counter cause his r vanishes illa's tentacles
Illaoi is giga broken except vs ranged champs that can dodge her E. If you are melee, later on in the game you will always need to go melee and that's a guaranteed E + R combo
@@RiverNunu we did friend. In lane while he could play with his creeps and she did not OS wave with Q, he did not get hit by Es and won. Watch mid to late game as 1/11 illaoi takes on him 1v1 or 3 of his teammates. Any melee into illaoi mid to late will probably lose in a straight 1v1 except perhaps morde because his R removes tentacles
@@joaodiasconde In mid-late game Naayil almost never got hit by her E, and when he does all he needs to do is to respect it and either disengage right there, or to bait illaoi’s ult and disengage then. You don’t fight Illaoi with the “I can beat her in her ult” mindset.
@@RiverNunu agree but even so if you disengage after her E you will get chunked for half HP. Not a nice situation overall, I do think she is like a statcheck champ
I'd hate to say this as a fellow Top-laner who mains Aatrox myself, but Illaoi IS meant to be broken. She's a power-zone juggernaut who can never chase people long distances, she can only dream of a run-down that Darius does with Ghost or Aatrox with World Ender. Her whole theme with Nagakabouros is "to make people take what they desire, and keep moving". If you stay within Illaoi's reach, she auto-wins. You make her exhaust her long cooldowns and then keep moving around her, you win (albeit it's definitely a chore especially early game where you're going to be forced under tower if your champ doesn't have good neutral abilities like Aatrox). Shen main xPetu's tip was right: "Keep dodging at a 90 degree angle away from her tentacle's hitbox lines".
I don't think top lane is useless. I think aatrox has a small impact in late game compared to more tanky top laners. I love playing aatrox but he's not tanky enough for a team with no tanks.
the reason i play illaoi and find that she is good, is that she can soak up any ammount of pressure, doesn't matter if you are 0/10, if you hit e and ult you kill the ennemy, so they got to respect that, but yeah that only works at low elo, once they learn to just bait out your ult you are as good as a cannon minion, but a 10/0 fiora will always get cocky and think she can destroy you, its all mind games
@@w.d.gaster3972 no one got him banned, he just had a streak of games where he went like 1/20 and during those games some popular streamers were playing in the same games as him so that's why people are saying that "X streamer got Babus banned."
I love the fact that he constantly says Illoai is bad, but had a Wukong that camped top in the early, which gave him a huge early spike. And we all know that a fed Aatrox is a pain to lane against

Illaoi is strong in low elo because jg will gank her and then she's gonna E W Q and heal half hp with passive because tentacles will slap both soul and champion
With the new item changes allowing Ie to be bought with 1 other crit item and mortal being turned into a last whisper item that has crit, is buying mortal + ie instead of grudge and cleaver the new aatrox build (ya know, since q crits with the sweetspots and ie is +35% crit damage mod).
