Would this Camera be ok to shoot fast moving Aircraft?

Very anxious seeing that lens design again on the Z280. I returned the X200 within a week because there was absolutely no detail in that lens. It’s the reason I got a Z150. Hope the Z190 will increase the low light capabilities, that is the only drawback!

Great video, both of you Alister and Claus. I am very interested in purchasing one of these to do medical interviews and documentaries. My questions are as follows: What specifically are the differences between the Z280 and Z190? It seems as if the Z190 has the longer lens (25X optical, vs. the 17X optical of the Z280), yet the Z280 is ranked higher, not sure why? Also the Z280 has a button labeled "macro", while the Z190 does not. What is the this and what are the differences, please?

Hello Paindoctor. the reason the PXW-Z280 camera is rated higher is firstly because of the 3chip sensors size. they are made of 3x ½" sized sensors. meaning that the sensor size is larger than on the Z190. having a larger sensor size requires a larger lens size which means its harder to get longer zoom range on a small lens. this is why for the camera size its possible to have a 17x zoom on the largers sensor but a 25x zoom on the smaller one. formats, workflows and wireless functionalities are better on the Z280 as it has more hardware. hope this helps

Does it record 60p 10 bit 422 4K internally without an external device?

yes, XAVC-I 4K is 4:2:2 10bit Class300. recorded directly internally on the SxS cards.

small sensor much more noise sd card means poor internal codec no slog means no documentaries. short film target i wonder which big tv station is actually using the z190

Talking about it how it has a digital zoom and 3 sensors. Wow, we had those back in 95 too with the trv-900

Instead of continuing to make camcorder with 1/3”or 1/2 “, sensors......why can’t Sony make a camcorder with the sensor and mount of their D-SLR A7 series cameras. surely there is a market for such camcorders....

Shalom - HEY SHALOM - It’s none of your freaking business how Allister affords his gear...he WORKS FOR SONY!!! Or what if he was independently wealthy and got left an inheritance of $100M?? The point is, the guy is taking up his own time, for no money, and try to teach idiots like you how they may be able to use this piece of equipment better, so that they might enjoy it more. Why you would post such a moronic statement? I hate to say this...but it’s idiots like you who give “our people” the rep we get in the world. Focus on the great vast pool of knowledge the guy bring to RU-vid at a cost of...DUH...FREE!!! rather than how he got his gear!!
