Man. That Nadal vs Navone match got me thinking of the good days. Glad Rafa can still play at a high level!

Insane that a 38 year old man can dig it out against a young and in-shape Navone. 4 hours for a three-setter is wild. He definitely has the capability to win it all and I hope he does!

No he doesn't,you people are not realistic at all. Navone is a good player but is not a complete player yet and Nadal would get destroyed by any more serious player

Please stop the glazing 💀 the fact that he has to play a 4 hour match at a ATP 250 tournament on clay against no namer means he’s donezo

Being 38 years of age, losing first set after having set point, against a somewhat unknown opponent, in a somewhat unknown tournament(Bastad 250) - What goat wouldn't drop in WILL and DETERMINATION? Not Rafa though, what an amazing warrior. What a display of will. 4 hours fight!! Huge respect! And cred to Navone as well, he can be really proud of himself!

Must suck for Monteiro. Imagine beating the number 2 seed Casper Ruud and then losing to a qualifier the next round.

I don’t understand Nadal’s constant need for loopy shots without any real pace on them. His physicality and defensive skills when younger got him through top players, but this style now becomes obviously weak against hard hitting younger generation e.g. Alcaraz, Sinner, etc. He clearly has the power to hit more powerfully.

Thats Called 'Moonball'. Its a strategy to push opponent back of the court as the ball bounce high at the edge of the baseline.
@jakstrike1
@jakstrike1 2 месяца назад
If you can push the opponent deep there's a chance they hit short which you can attack. Also puts pressure on the opponent to generate all the power themselves

He was asked in the press conference. He adapts depending on what it works in certain scenarios, which is classic Nadal. I don’t see anything weird here.

@@quentinhirschfeld9382 he did, i remember multiple instances over the last years and it often worked. A good moonball frustrates the opponent and will eventually force out a short ball which can be attacked
