bro i dont blame you at all haha - that "GET ME OUTTA HERE", adrenaline monkey-dash to the whip frenzy, fast-walking all serious telling everyone to hustle with some urgency; that aint the way to live life but i do get it. word of unsolicited advice from a dude who goes to way too many concerts for anyone reading this: 1. Either start heading out 10-15 minutes before the show ends 2. Just sit in traffic for hours, idling - or if you didnt drive - go burn some calories & walk for a mile just to snag an Uber that isn't $125. OR 3. Do what I do with friends, plan ahead, pack snacks, a big cooler with waters/various bevs, a nice speaker, and hella blankets and camping chairs, and sit back & people watch. You'll be sitting having a great time, laughing it up, and the non-moving line just gotta sit there & watch you vibe out as they just wait & wait & wait & wait for 40 minutes to move a quarter-mile & just get road rage and pissy for nothing. Most times I end up having more fun doing the old 'tail-gate n' wait' than the show itself lol To each their own though.

The traffic argument is exactly why cities with proper public transport are better sports towns. Going to games in nyc is great and you never have to worry about drunk drivers or traffic. Just crowded subways. I’m sure same can go for a lot of cities with proper infrastructure. Also soccer is way better in person

Minor league hockey, concerts under 2000 cap, minor league baseball etc. Way better live experiences, affordable tickets/concessions, and way more community focused. The industry of megaevents have lost their mind on pricing and the number of people packed into a parking lot/stadium. If you love it, more power to you, but I don't think it is a great experience these days.

It depends on the sport and the city. I go to a lot of hockey, football, and some baseball games and at least in my city, once you know which places to park and what turns to take you can get out of these stadium/arena areas pretty quickly.

Took my girlfriend and her sister to a concert one time, took us 2 and a half hours to drive 7 minutes away with traffic

Nah, i disagree. Hang out for a little bit at the car after the game until traffic is manageable. And find alternate routes that nobody else goes on. Plan better and you dont have to deal with the headaches

Also, dont park close. Park like a mile/mile and a half away and walk so you avoid the heavily congested parking areas

I will die on that same hill. Live sports usually is terrible. Exception is top tier European leagues (basketball, soccer).
