Nadia changed my favourite hobby to doing gymnastics for fun with my friends. This was the first Olympics that we got extensive daily coverage in North America, more than the usual 2-4 hours. With time zones it's still nice when events happen on this side of the world. Gymnastics has remained my favourite sport to watch EVER! I sure miss the uneven bars being closer together because they can no longer do some of my favourite moves since they were put far apart, darn it. Bela then defected to the US and he and Marta turned the American team into a powerhouse in no time! (Too bad they hadn't come to Canada instead, haha.) My parents were both Germans born in Romania so there was always much more to Nadia's story to Us than just gymnastics. I remember numerous details of her life and also recall her surprise reunion with Bela several years later. I'm happy she's been doing well and Bart was always such a cutie. Keep well!

I often wonder, the mark that was given was the maximum possible of 10, but if the routine had actually been marked to its full merit - what mark would it have added up to? 10.5? 11.0? or even more?

Nadia Comaneci is the greatest female athlete all time.

Nadia had a perfection, precision, superb control at every portion of every movement, and unbelievable grace, which Simone does not have. She had power and muscles. But now isn't necessarily better in everything. I watched Nadia as a child growing up in Germany. I'm never forget the fascination of observing this exceptional athlete.
