Interview with Nadia. They talk about the new scoring system, new stars in the gymnastics world, Ana Porgras, Nadia's work and a lot more. Nice interview
Even the greatest of athletes don't reach the status of Nadia. She's one of the few athletes who truly has become a household name all over the world. A living legend in the truest sense. And I agree with the others here: Man is she gorgeous!!!
she is a legend - plain and simple - she brought grace and artistry to her sport - something which is lacking today - she is and always will be the Queen
I adore Nadia. Watching Nadia perform actually inspired me to practice my gymnstics at home on my own for months, no nagging needed. She wasn't just technically good, every movement she made was so fluid and the epitomy of grace despite performing acts that are as physically demanding as it gets.
take makaylas team vault this year the judges even found something wrong with that perfection is in possible but nadia with the first 10 made it possible for little girls everywhere to b perfect even if only for a short time. and that alone skills aside what she did for the sport and for little girls dreams that alone makes her one of the greats
OMG, Daniela Silivas, Olga Mostepanova, Oksana Omelianchik, Lily Pod, and tons of other gymnasts, OLGA FREAKING KORBUT!! She opened the stage for Nadia
Sorry. When you do something that had never been done before, then do it four more times, you are the best. Skills (and equipment) have changed, but no one has made an impact like she did. On another point, Wow! She is beautiful. I saw her in a Jockey lingerie ad twenty years ago. Would that I had that ad today!
She looks magnificent and she is so charismatic. I hope she does commentary for the Olympics because she is a lot more interesting, knowledgeable and objective than broadcasters from past games.
"-Do you remember the best routine you've done in training? -That is the routine you have to do today, you don't have to do more or less." -Nadia Comaneci
@morenodelaorilla It's a bit late, but Moldova is an old Romanian province. After WW II, the soviets took half of it (the Eastern part). That part belonged to USSR from 1941 up to 1990. After that the Former Soviet Moldova became an independent country. Western Moldova (where Nadia was born) has always been Romanian.
well i didn't see our education to be any special, but when i moved to usa i saw a huge difference. not all romanians are highly educated, there's a bigger percent than it should be when it comes about children who don't know how to read and write unfortunatelly. but we have good doctors, we're not lucky to keep them because they go to work abroad for bigger pay checks and i understand why. when our government will have the good will to make it a better place to live, we'll all probably return
Well, I will explain to you what Nadia means when she says she is from Molodva. Yes ineed, there is a country called "Moldova" or "Republica Moldova"(republic), but there is also a region in the north-east of Romania called "Moldova". Nadia is from Onesti, which is in Romania, but is in the region called "Moldova". That's what she meant when she said she was from Moldova.
@CirquedeMistiq, shortly Moldova is 1 of 3 Romanian Kingdoms in past, but in '49 the left side from Prut River was occupied by Russians an transformed into Siviet Republic.. But it doesnt matter, bcause even after 5 decades we consider ourseves Rumanians and we're proud of Rumanian Glory. Te iubim Nadia
@adollce There was a lack of abundance in food back then in Romania. It was a Communist country and there was a limited amount being grown as well as imported. My parents were from communist Russia and said it was the same over there. This was in the 60's and 70s, unlike today where the quality of everything has changed worldwide.
i do find Romania has some very attractive women. They all have the dark look about them dark hair and so on, very nice. Also she is the example of why I love the Olympics - top athletes are Born to be amazing, she was born to be a top top gymnast
@nancyyaz24 lots of others gymnasts recived 10s after nadia first get it, i know that the last perfect ten was recived also by a romanian Lavinia MIlosovici in 1996 (floor). romanians started the perfect ten era and also ended it. i want the old score back....
Hold on a second, are you one of the jury from the olympic games? Ah no!! You are just someone pretending to know more than those people who awarded Nadia the highest possible score in not just one discipline but in three different disciplines.
She got really beautiful since moving to the USA. As a child, she always looked so pale and pasty, not just from all the training, but probably from the lack of healthy food in Romania. Now she looks like Penelope Cruz. Yay Nadia!
LOL What the hell are you talking about!!!! If you were talking about Dracula, he comes from Transilvania which is an area in Romania. Just so you know, Romania and Moldavia are different countries!!! ^^
as in 45 with 15 kids or a 15 year old kid haha, but like when her daughter is 10 years old she'll be 55, i just think its sort of mean to her child. i get that people wont agree with me but yeah lol.
@nightravenonline I highly recommend you to stop talking about Romania until you actually learn something about the country instead of some old boring stereotypes that only shows your ignorance.
she's 47 with a three year old daughter?! thats kind of selfish, i understand she was a gymnast and all that kinda stuff happens later but having a kid at 45 isnt right :/
no doubd about that indeed. still, in europe romania isn't seen as it was years ago because of some of our women. they made the rest become more of a stereotype
