Any coverage is better than no coverage. People here assume it isn't an issue with climate, but it is. Despite removal of skin cancer, it can spread internally into other forms silently. We lost a family member that way after assuming all was well.

I'd not be swayed by awards. SPF protection is standardised by law and you HAVE to be getting the level of protection that's advertised. The only differences between them are scent, texture, spreadability and how they feel and interact with you own skin.. all of which are subjective. Just because it's won awards, doesn't mean you'll like it. Find one you enjoy using and use it!!.

Bondi Sands Face Fluid SP50 is brillaint it has a 5 star UVA rating which means it gives ultimate protection all year round, and it costs less than £10. A tip when shopping for SPF go for one with a 4 or 5 star rating, this is usually on the back in a circle. Anything with less than 4 stars doesn't give enough protection against UVA rays

I find it shocking that she describes these products as reasonably priced when they cost upwards of £10 for small quantities and is encouraging you to use them liberally all year round. In my view they are way over-priced for what they are and it's just down to marketing. Personally I use Aldi's Lacura SPF 50+ Sensitive Sun Lotion which costs only £2.99 for 200ml and is just as good (if not better) than the products demonstrated here. The ingredients include the same active substances as expensive branded products.

My Mum is older than Phillip and comes from the same place in Cornwall too. Her Mum was buying SPF from the local Pharmacist in the 1940's who made it on premises. It's not an age thing, it's more of a fashion thing, with people believing a tan made you look healthy. Doctors have always known the dangers...

You shouldn't have wrinkles at 40. Gosh I'm almost as old as Nadine and I do have some sun damage but I didn't have a wrinkle until I was mid forties, it's post menopause when the wrinkles and sagging starts.

@La Fa I've only recently started a retinal once or twice a week. I also have very fair/fine skin. Do you eat enough protein and essential fatty acids? Do you live in a really dry climate? I definitely think skincare is 90% what goes in /or doesn't. Good diet, plenty of good hydration (water), little processed food, no smoking, minimal alcohol. Genetics definitely play a part. Only in the last few years have I started wearing a higher sunscreen. I do have a 2-4 glasses of wine over a week but I can tell the difference for the worse the next day- my eye area is always more crepey. I take additional amino acids as a pescatarian I don't always get enough protein, I do take a stack of nutritional supplements now ( in my late 50",s). Menopause and several years of trying to have a plant based diet took its toll on my health and I am still trying to turn it around. It's never too late to improve your skin ☺️.

I need _that_ much...if I put more than a dot of moisturiser on I look like a pre-historic creature with the scales and bumps that appear hours later. I haven't tried a sun-screen yet because my eyes burn and water, my skin flushes at even products aimed for sensitive skin (even washing my face with WATER stings sometimes) but finding out I need _that_ much is very discouraging :o Will I ever find one that doesn't break me out with that amount?? AND I HAVE TO REAPPLY IT TOO
@airamsipuola5045
@airamsipuola5045 Год назад
Not sure if you know this, but there are two types of sunscreens: mineral (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) and chemical (avobenzone, octinoxate, oxybenzone). The chemical ones are safe, but some formulations irritate around the eyes. People with sensitive skin, rosacea or other such conditions generally benefit from the mineral sunscreens. The drawback to mineral ones is that they tend to leave a white cast on the skin, but there are many tinted varieties (they don't look like makeup or anything; they just hide the white cast and blend in to your skin color). There's a brand called EltaMD that caters to sensitive and post-procedure skin, so that's something to consider. I hope you find one that works for you.
@johnnyjoestar7143
@johnnyjoestar7143 Год назад
@@airamsipuola5045 Yes my friend suggested a mineral brand from Korea which apparently gave her no white cast, we are both dark skinned so I'm waiting on that to arrive but if It works for me and I need TWO FINGERS worth , the expense will add up lol

@@johnnyjoestar7143 Oh I hear you. I hope that sunscreen works for you, but it would probably be expensive to keep having it shipped to you. I'm not sure where you are, but in the US I've seen some reasonably priced mineral sunscreens that cater to darker complexions. The SPF market is finally becoming inclusive. Good luck!

I don’t think, IMHO you should be promoting this section and these products. She did give some good advice yet did not talk about all the toxic chemicals in many I’d not all of them which is really sad considering the news out about this these past few years and more recently about clamping down on these companies. Do your research people. Find what is natural and safe to use.

I don't know but she seems to prefer the expensive brands. There are far cheaper versions which are just as good for sun protection and have the same active ingredients e.g. Aldi's Lacura SPF50+, Nivea Protect & Moisture SPF 50. The expensive brands are no more effective but it's just down marketing. Even if you prefer the scent or the smoothness of posh brands is it really worth spending up to ten times as much for that?
