Live in HD host Ailyn Pérez visits an early rehearsal for the new production of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor and speaks to the opera’s star, Nadine Sierra. 2021-22 season.
Such a compelling "Il Dolce Suono". Nadine is the perfect Lucia. I would do anything to see this production live. Although I have seen numerous renditions of Lucia di Lammermoor on TV and the media, it was about 20 years ago that I last watched a live Lucia in Caracas (Venezuela), of which I have great memories of.
@@vincec8218 PLEASE STOP POSTING THE SAME MESSAGE OVER AND OVER IN EVERY OPERA VIDEO. YOU ARE ANNOYING. I AM BEGINNING TO HATE THIS KASONDRA "SOPRANO".
Absolutely gorgeous I am so looking forward to hearing her from the Met broadcast in May as I have been listening to her new recording, a wonderful artist with such a beautiful voice I just hope she will come to London and Covent Garden soon.
Well, see what happens when girls/women have no options? Amazing! Such drama in this opera, in particular. And, I also love her costar the tenor. Very excellent. The Met took a chance on this one. Good for them! Happy spring everyone. Keep listening to opera.
What a pleasure to watch! A pleasure to listen to the rehersal as well as the interview. As the pick-up in the background suggests, Its going to be a great staging :)
Praised for her vocal beauty, seamless technique, and abundant musicality, Nadine Sierra is being hailed as one of the most promising, young talents in opera today. She was named the Richard Tucker Award Winner in 2017 and was awarded the 2018 Beverly Sills Artist Award by the Metropolitan Opera. Having made a string of successful debuts at the Met, Teatro alla Scala, Opéra national de Paris, and Staatsoper Berlin, she has become a fixture at many of the top houses around the world. On August 24th, 2018, her debut album, There’s a Place for Us, was released under the Deutsche Grammophon/Universal Music labels.
They love to spend $$$$ needlessly. . . I always say spend it on the chorus AND the best singers for the role! - If you accomplish that, the staging is negligible! ... well, it's a nice truck!
Nadine sings it well but I'm assuming the dragging tempi are just for rehearsal... This is gonna be another one of those Euro style productions with lots of wrecked cars, isn't it? Like the Monnaie's NORMA in December. Don't get the Car Obsession.
HI IN THE SCENE WHERE NADINE GOES UPSTAIRS IN HOUSE TO PAINT AS SHES GETTING READY TO PAINT IS SHE HEAVY MOUTH BREATHING TRYING TO CALM IT DOWN CATCH HER BREATH?ALSO IN THE SCENE SING WITH HUSBAND THEN THEY KISS. WAS IT HARD FOR NADINE TO KISS BEING OUT OF BREATH FROM SINGING ?PLUS WHO WAS THE DUET SHE DID WITH BLACK HAIRED WOMAN IN SHIP SCENE? IS HERE A LIST OF ALL CAST MEMBERS NOT JUST MAIN ONES BUT THE ONES IN THE PARTY SCENE?
I hope the blue pickup truck is not part of the production. At the Met, one never knows. The new production is set in the American Rust Belt. Mein Gott in Himmel! Somewhere near Detroit or Allentown? Callas and Sutherland are turning in their graves. Vergogna!
South Korean soprano Ungiu Kim, great old school sound, hints of Caballé, Alessandra Marc, and Cheryl Studer in her voice, awesome rendition of "Tu che le vanità" with piano accompaniment ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rJ7bxGvVt2g.html
