This is a compilation video with a few episodes from the show:
Monsters Inside Me:
www.animalplane...
I've watched all seasons of this show, and every time this parasite is shown, the person infected with it, dies.The victims are mostly children, age ranging from 10-16.
I uploaded this video to warn everyone. As the summer vastly approaches, to be aware of the risks while swimming in the lakes.
The best decision to make, is just not swim in the lakes, but if you do, wear NOSE PLUGS. $2 is a small price to pay to save your life.
Maybe you say "Well, I live in another country, this is only shown for the United States"
This parasite has been found in over 70% of the Earth's lakes, that includes overseas. There's an epidemic right now that 10 people in Karachi, Pakistan that died after being infected
www.bbc.com/new...
More Information:
en.wikipedia.or...
CDC
www.cdc.gov/par...
The sad part about this is that this won't be enough to inform everyone, but with all viewers involved, tell everyone. Show your friends, and family this video. Give them a chance to be warned.
This parasite is deadly. The chances of survival is less than 1%
One person did survive from this:
www.cnn.com/201...
Video content owned by the Discovery Channel.
I'd like to thank them for making this show possible. It's shows like this that can save your life. Be informed and aware of certain risks. The world as you know it isn't always safe.
If anyone wants me to make more of these, please let me know.
I'll be happy to make more.

I used to watch this show a few years back. It's indeed very educational, but at the same time, it's kind of creepy learning about the minuscule dangers surrounding our every day lives. I'm very careful and hygienic now a days because of what i've seen from this show, like the parasites that eat your eyeballs from the inside out, and now this brain eating amoeba. q_q

PunkLizard Fortunately, it is quite rare though. Only about 30 cases have been reported between 2000 and 2010, so we should rationally be just as wary about getting struck by lightning (actually I just checked, and it turns out that deaths by lightning strikes are surprisingly much more common). And the way these amoeba get to the brain involves traveling up through the nerves you use for smelling, so you shouldn't worry about contracting it from a shower unless you're actually inhaling the water for whatever reason. And as for parasitic infections in general, they tend to be very uncommon in first world countries. As someone who has worked in hospitals for a few years, I've seen hundreds of cases of bacterial and viral infections, but still haven't seen a single case of a parasitic infection just yet. If I were to worry about infections in general, I'd focus on the ones that are way more common and still harmful like the pathogens that cause...say pneumonia. Heck, if I were overly conscious about my own mortality, I'd also focus way more on common potential fatalities such as car accidents, getting murdered by someone, avoiding fatty and sugary foods to prevent a future heart attack (the #1 killer in the States, which is 1 in every 4 deaths), and even lightning strikes.

I always hated watching this show because no matter what disease, bacteria or amoeba I always felt like I was gonna get whatever they were showing! Most cases in this show are from third world countries where people go on vacation and come back with these weird ass symptoms and end up having this crazy ailment! Makes me cringe each and every time because I, then, don't want to go on vacation anywhere or eat anything! Anywho, I reckon I approve of this informational shit right der! Great video bro! Oh! Just for this video, you might want to change the category to educational instead of gaming lol.

@Griffiith Planning on being fit and doing a lot of workouts is what I was planning to do. I try to do my best trying to lay off of the grease such as burgers, and chicken, and try to eat a little more nutritional meals such as veggie burgers, salads, fruit, veggies, and burn off those carbs. Of course, I do have faith in the Man Above. But I do feel pretty guilty for most people in this country who have been affected by the brain eating parasite. But I do now understand. Death is a natural part of life. No matter how or when we're all going to disappear on this world, the least we can do is tell how good we feel about ourselves. Even though I do feel guilty for the families and loved ones, but having a brain eating parasite inside of you is something to not laugh about. Many million people died having it inside them.

Naegleria-Fowleri is still a problem two years after killing a child in St. Bernard Parish in Louisiana. The utility super- chlorinated the system and thought they were done. Federal testing in February in 2014 declared the parish water system was clear of the amoeba. The problem is the amoeba goes dormant during cooler months and becomes active in warmer months. In July of 2015 Naegleria-Fowleri was again found in the water system, so officials started a 60 day chlorine burn to destroy the amoeba, that continued at least into mid October (for those who don't like math, that's closer to 90 days). If the tanks have sediment covering the floor the chlorine burn will do nothing but destroy the amoeba floating in the water and on top of the sediment. Is sediment on the floor of the tanks? An underwater camera inspection would determine that with minimal cost and no disruption in water service. See: www.watertankinspection.com for more information. Sediment on the interior floor of the tanks can be a safe habitat for bacteria, protozoa, viruses and even Naegleria-Fowleri, so it would be a better idea to clean the tanks first.

Most people have immunity against Naegleria, this is why cases always remain low. There are always outliers who didn’t inherit the protection or have weak immune systems hence why it infects children the most. Now look at animals, they can swim and never affected by this organism because they developed immunity. They evolved to have protection against these pathogens.
@nagitokomaeda3869
@nagitokomaeda3869 5 лет назад
No, the cases are low because the amoeba is usually present in cyst form and in sediments underwater. The body's immune system cant defend against this because the amoeba just forms a cyst that makes it unkillable

@@naegleriafowleri2230 Pretty sure you're thinking of Balamuthia Mandrillaris. Most people can fight against Balamuthia because it enters the body through the mouth or nose, and travels to the bloodstream, where most people can produce antibodies to attack and kill the amoeba. Naegleria Fowleri on the other hand travels straight to the brain from the nerve endings in the nose where the immune system can't attack it because it forms a hardened cyst. Infection with it is so rare because contaminated water needs to travel all the way up the nose for it to occur. Great username btw.

so that's the show you've been telling me about.. seems really interesting and educational.. I like it. amusing how small things could prevent our bodies from deadly things I remember reading about Naegleria a few years back, what's interesting about it is how it chooses its victims. the amoeba has strategies to evade the immune system, and treatment options are meager partly because of how fast the infection progresses. even though in most cases the infection can be stopped if it is caught soon enough. not to mention the microscopic amoebae, which can be suspended in water or nestled in soil, enters the body when water goes up the nose. even though this infection is exceedingly uncommon-there were only 34 reported in the U.S. during the past 10 years-but evidence suggests they may be increasing as of recent and it's been proven to be universally fatal. I think "brain eating" is actually a pretty accurate description for what the amoeba does. some of the destruction first symptoms are loss of smell and taste.. I think this should be presented in every major news market in the US. It is only a matter of time until the parasite becomes more prevalent, perhaps ubiquitous even. is it possible to detect the parasite in testing the water? I understand this would offer little comfort as the agents could be submerged in the mud until some tasty brain is presented to them. the difficulty convincing disbelievers that global warming is a truly scary event in process is that many of the problems are very subtle and disbelievers will refuse to be convinced until tragedies silence them..this amoeba has the attributes of being such a ticking bomb. I guess infections usually occur in people who have been engaging in water sports or other activities that may forcefully suffuse the nose with lots of water-diving, waterskiing, wakeboarding, and in one case a baptism dunking who knows.. if only people would educate themselves by reading or watching good shows that'll already be a big step forward.. needless to say it was very kind of you to share this information in case others haven't heard of it or aren't familiar with these kinds of infections. I really wanted to write a thoughtful comment to you on this matter because I love science. there are still a lot of things we don't know that much about, thank you dear brother for uploading this, until then, hold your nose.

@naegleriafowleri2230 5 лет назад
Chuck Storm studies have shown that most people have protection against naegleria which explains why infection is so rare despite millions of people swimming in rivers, lakes and millions of muslims doing nasal irrigation. More than likely humans developed an immunity to this pathogen thanks to ancestors. The people who get infected have weaker immune systems or didn’t inherit this protection this explains why most cases are children as they have underdeveloped immune systems. Not to mention naegleria is rare in third world countries where water sanitation is poor you can bet Naegleria is in the water supply of many third world countries yet is more prevalent in the usa than any other country. Could it be because all the kids are sheltered and usa obsession with health didn’t allow millenial kids to develop good immune systems

Compared to naegleria fowleri I think balamuthia mandillaris is probably the deadliest even tho it's rare malaria and cancer are more deadly since it kills more people per year
@naegleriafowleri2230
@naegleriafowleri2230 5 лет назад
Balamuthia doesn’t kill you in one week like naegleria if caught early you could survive as it can take months
@anonymoususer2756
@anonymoususer2756 3 года назад
N. Fowleri is much deadlier than B. Mandrillaris. Balamuthia normally only affects older people or those with weakened immune systems since the amoeba is actually extremely common in soil, dust and freshwater around the world. Most people's immune systems are normally able to fight off the amoeba so you've most likely been exposed to it at some point before. N. Fowleri also usually kills its victims within 7-11 days, whereas Balamuthia can take months. I think the mortality rate of an infection with Balamuthia is also much lower than Naegleria's, at something like 87-95% compared to 98.5%.
@anonymoususer2756
@anonymoususer2756 3 года назад
Also N. Fowleri a lot of the time causes very severe symptoms such as mental confusion, memory loss and seizures, and those who recover from it often suffer permanent neurological damage. Balamuthia on the other hand causes much more mild symptoms like headaches, vomiting and change in sense of taste/smell.
