Daitya Badh, dance perfomed as the victory
of goddess Mahakali over Mahisashur , is one
of the major dance of Mahakalai Gana Naach.
Mahisasur is attacked by simha and made injured
in this dance. Later, Goddess Mahakali kills
him with Trisul. Love story between Mahisasur
and Mahakali, the tale of agression of Mahisasur
over the god and goddesses about his power
are popular tale of this dance. Nyakhi is
played in dance to increase the angerness
of Mahakali. It is said that the angerness
of Mahakali increases as the beat of Nyakhi increases.
