Originally known as Shahul Hamid Durgha, the former shrine was built by Chulias from southern India between 1828 and 1830.
Though a small structure, the ornate architecture of Nagore Dargah makes it an iconic landmark at the corner of Telok Ayer Street and Boon Tat Street featuring a unique blend of East and West.
Today, the shrine has been converted into the Nagore Dargah Indian Muslim Heritage Centre, showcasing Indian Muslim culture and heritage, keeping its long history alive.
