From Palestine to Lebanon, Honored to be featured. This performance, recorded back in July, is dedicated to our resilient people and to the iconic Fairuz, with a twist on her beloved song 'Li Beirut'.
The song “Li Fayruz” (for Fayruz) by Nai Barghouti is a tribute to Fayruz, one of the most iconic singers of the Arab world, from Lebanon. The song is based on Fayruz’s song “Li Beirut" (for Beirut) by Fairuz. The song “Li Beirut”, released in 1984 during the Lebanese Civil War, is a heartfelt tribute to the city of Beirut. The song, based on Albinoni's "Adagio in G minor," features lyrics by Joseph Harb that express sorrow, love, and hope for Beirut, torn apart by war yet resilient. It became an anthem for the Lebanese people, symbolizing their longing for peace and their deep emotional attachment to the city. Fairuz’s voice and the haunting melody evoke powerful emotions, making this song a timeless tribute to Lebanon's capital. Song was chosen at this timing probably in support for Lebanon in the current savage aggression on the country.
From my heart salutations to Beirut And kisses to the sea and the houses To a rock that looks like an old sailor's face She (Beirut) is a wine made of people's spirit From people's sweat she's bread and Jasmine So how did her taste turn into the taste of fire and smoke verse لبيروت To Beirut مجدٌ من رمادٍ لبيروت A glory of ash to Beirut From the blood of a boy carried on her hand My city has turned off its lamp أغلقت بابها Closed its door أصبحت في المساء وحدها Stayed alone in the evening وحدها و ليلُ Alone with the night verse لبيروت To Beirut من قلبي سلامٌ لبيروت From my heart salutations to Beirut And kisses to the sea and the houses To a rock that looks like an old sailor's face verse أنتِ لي أنتِ لي To me To me أه عانقيني أنتِ لي Ah Hug me you are to me My banner and tomorrow's stone and my travel wave My people's wounds have flowered The mothers' tears have flowered You are Beirut to me أنتِ لي You are mine
chills!! God bless our countries and middle east! I hope they will let us live in our countries and culture and religions in peace!!! All the love from morocco!
I'm following Nai's career for many years and she's with no doubt the best arab voice of the century ! Fairuz would probably be proud of you ❤ @naibarghouti you nailed it !
Anyone can translate the lyrics plz ? Still, even not knowing what she’s saying, I’ve got goosebump and can only imagine shes talking about, somehow, finding peace in this world ♥️
It’s a tribute and at the same time a beautiful cover of a song by a famous Lebanese singer called Fairouz. Lookup “Le Beirut” I’m sure you’ll find translations.
This is a twist on Fairuz's song Li Beirut. Instead of saying "Li Beirut" which means "For Beirut", she says "Li Fairuz" which means "for Fairuz." In the original song, Fairuz sings to her home city, Beirut, but in this song, Nai Barghouti sings to Fairuz herself.
concerto de Aranjuez with an arabic touch with such a meaningful message behind it, adding to that a gorgeous well controled voice... what a masterpiece full of emotions Nai! ❤ FRE PALESTINE 🇵🇸✌🏻
From France, our sorrow is deep for Palestinians and Lebanese people, we're ashamed about the support for Israel criminal government, thanks for this beautiful song
This song is indeed beautiful and sad at the same time,😢thank you COLORS STUDIO for featuring Nai Barghouti, to spread the beautiful message to the world, love from Malaysia 🙏🩷

This song reminds me of a song from beloved fado singer Amália Rodrigues - Aranjuez, mon amour. I think it’s the same song but in arabic… amazing voice, thank you for showing talent and allow us to discover great artists every time 🙌

@@this_king. i did my research. The Arab-Israeli War of 1948 broke out when five Arab nations invaded territory in the former Palestinian mandate immediately following the announcement of the independence of the state of Israel on May 14, 1948. In 1947, and again on May 14, 1948, the United States had offered de facto recognition of the Israeli Provisional Government, but during the war, the United States maintained an arms embargo against all belligerents. Why should you have right to be free but not the others.. nice hypocrisy but you’re just good at playing victim card.
