Thank you so much for making this video ❤️💕!!!! I have been researching DIY ombre nails for over a week. Yours is the first one I've discovered that actually goes into such complete details. I would never have thought of dampening the sponge🤦. You saved me a lot of headaches and frustration. Thanks again for the comprehensive tutorial! 😍😍

I can't thank you enough for sharing your knowledge. This has to be the absolute best tutorial I've watched in a very long time..with so many useful tips and tricks and none of the needless chatter. Thank you again...

I was very impressed with this video! A few things that grabbed me specifically: 1- peel off the liquid latex immediately. I was doing both hands, LETTING THEM DRY, and THEN peeling it before I applied the final top coat. IT ALWAYS PULLED OFF MY DRIED POLISH WITH IT!! WHAT A FREAKING PAIN! 2- cut the used part of the sponge to reveal the unused portion beneath. Sounds dumb, BUT I LITERALLY NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT LOL. Even if you get a pack of 50 from the dollar store, there really is no point in wasting something you can make reusable. Over all, I loved this video. It was very informative and I learned some new tips, which was the main idea. Great job. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Love and blessings from Miami.

I've never tried dampening the sponge before, so I'll try that next time. I always have a bit of a sticking problem. Nice video with a cute look and useful tips.

@@LilypadPolish I find doing my non-dominate easier. Why would that be a challenge? You would be using your dominant hand and therefor have more control. I ould think they wouldnt look as messy.

Just found your channel. . Great video on this! ! Now I know all the things I was doing wrong.. maybe now I can do this too!! Tfs can gradients be done with gel polish??
@LilypadPolish
@LilypadPolish 6 лет назад
Thank you!! I'm glad this video was able to help. I do believe you can do gradient with gel polish too, but from what I hear it's a bit more difficult because gel polishes blend together a little too well. However, I've never personally tried to do a gradient using gel polish. I might have to do a video on it myself and see how it works.

Will this also work with gel polish? And would you have to cure it between each coat?

For clear nail polishes with some sequins, do you absolutely have to put on a base still? What happens if you don't put a base?

maybe I am missing it but what kind of liquid latex do you use? mine is really thin and hard to take off even after 3 coats
@LilypadPolish
@LilypadPolish 4 года назад
it’s a basic liquid latex (typically used as body paint) that i transferred into an empty polish bottle :) you can easily find it for super cheap on amazon!

I keep hearing about the wet sponge. But never tried! Mani is beautiful! I think my sponges aren't that awesome. I have the hardest time with gradients
@LilypadPolish
@LilypadPolish 6 лет назад
they are super cheap at most stores like target, walgreens, walmart, cvs, etc. I definitely suggest wetting the sponge, though, it makes such a difference! And, of course, practice makes perfect

Hi AFTER YOU PUT THE GEL POLISH OMBRE DID YOU DRY THE NAIL IN UV/LED,AND THEN PUT THE TOP COAT?

I didn't use any gel polishes in this video
@mrs.sarahjackson1666

If you did it with gel polish though, you would need to cure each layer under your UV or LED light same as any time you use gel polish. 😉

I just tried the gradient nails, and boy did they look like crap....I'm going to have to try wetting the sponge first. I've seen so many of these types of videos and they all seem to come out so perfectly, it's not easy. I dreaded doing it with my non dominant hand and they looked even worse...Yikes....This really isn't easy and it appears to use up a lot of polish.
@LilypadPolish
@LilypadPolish 6 лет назад
I totally relate to the struggle of getting your perfect gradient. It takes some practice but I hope this video was able to help a bit. Practice makes perfect!
@foofoobear66
@foofoobear66 6 лет назад
Yes, it's going to take me a few more tries to master this..LOL....I have some of the liquid latex, but if found that if I clean out an old bottle of nail polish with pure Acetone, get all of the polish out and the bottle and brush clean. I put some Elmer's glue in the bottle with about 2 or so eyedroppers full of water to thin it out just a little. It makes a cheap and very effective protectant (just like the liquid latex) it takes a bit longer to dry but it's totally worth it. Works just as well. And really inexpensive.....Thanks a bunch :-)
