Thanks for being honest on opinions about brands, it’s so hard to find it these days. I don’t own any olive Ave but have considered buying. Loved seeing all of these. You are so disciplined. :) I’ve really grown to love my Emily de molly collection lately.
Thank you! It’s hard to be honest especially when the brand is owned by other RU-vidrs. They have hard core followers and get upset if you talk badly about them. Not every brand is for everyone though! Also, I love all the EDM that I have, especially their shifty shimmers!
😂 yes I’ve heard many people complain about her brushes. I’m glad yours have good formulas! My favorite one is of course a topper 🤣 I got it from Barb and I like it
I'm surprised to hear you didn't like the formulas for the MSMs; I have a few that are pretty nice. I recently got the Dipping Dots collection and can't wait to wear them. Five were on clearance at Walmart and I got the other 3 from Salon Perfect with Traffic Cone, which is an orange neon that I can't wait to wear! The flakies in the Nailed It and Pahlish shades are so beautiful! Good job getting rid of a few! TFS! 💛
The Salon Perfect Traffic Cone has a difficult formula, but the color is so neon, I have to keep it! MSM On the Flip Side is not an easy formula, I agree. However, I LOVE the color and I can't find a dupe for it, so I will definitely keep and use mine in the summer, on my toes. I usually need to add some thinner to my MSM polishes after one use. I don't love their brush, but I don't hate it. I HATE skinny brushes.
Oh I hate skinny brushes too!! I find difficult formulas do even worse on my toes because for some reason, my toes always need extra coats to even out.
Loving this drawer/section! Wow that PFD "Lucky Fin" looks incredible! I really struggle with those strange sticky 3-coat MSM formulas and I find myself not reaching for them for I know it will take work, ye know? I find you have to sort of paint them in a certain way. Lately I have been gravitating towards brands which I know will be an easier paint for me. I've come to realise, being disabled, how important that actually is for me.
Me too!! I don’t mind doing 3 coats for flakies that have NICE formulas and the 3 coats is just to amp up the flakies. But I despise having to do 3 coats on polishes because they are streaky with terrible formulas. Especially when they don’t even look good after 3 coats 😂 I just don’t have the patience anymore
@NurseJackie2582 do you have Olive Ave's older bottles? I think those had the not so good brush. I have some of her newer bottles and those have a good brush. The formulas are good too, not as opaque as maybe Dimension Nails cremes but pretty good.
Yes I do! And I have heard she replaced the brushes and that the formulas are better. But here’s the thing, she shouldn’t have been selling CREAMS for $12 with terrible brushes and bad formulas 🤷🏻♀️ I feel bad saying it because I know she’s a real person with feelings.
I’ve had the Stella Chroma in my untrieds too and keep putting off wearing it, let me know if you want to twin with it sometime! I’ve destashed all my Nine Zero Smoothie Bars too since I can dupe them with all the black shard toppers I have now.😄
Great destashing 😊 I have some MSM I love then I have others that I have declutterred. Everyone has their favorites and what works for them. You have to go with what makes you happen and what works for you. I have the dippin dots collection too and love all of them. They are so fun and bright and have good formulas too.
Yes 💯 % everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Example, the dip n dots. I LOVE them! Mine all have great formulas. Other people don’t like them and say they are terrible 😆
I'm sad to say i agree with you about MSM. I have old and new polishes and none of them applies well. Is it the brush? Is it the formula? Is it a combination? Also, I've asked her so many times if her live swatches or still photos show more accurate color and have never received a reply. I know she's busy with her family but.... Just because you mentioned it, Imma go put on her dupe for Flip Flop Fantasy now just to punish myself! 😂
That Bettina is so pretty! I forgot to look for those when I was in Florida last time. Not sure why we don’t get that brand here. Life’s too short for polishes you don’t love. I don’t think you need to apologize! 😂
I’m glad yours work for you 😄 the ones I have are older so maybe her formulas have improved? I’ve heard her brushes are better now too and not stupidly skinny anymore.
I only have the newer Moonshine Manis so I can’t judge those that you don’t care for. I’ve found that brands wear differently on all of us. China Glaze doesn’t even last a day on me (but of course I still have some 😂)but the new Moonshine Manis I have last so long that I want to take them off to change colors before they’ve chipped. You’re making me want to reorganize back to colors instead of brands. 😊
I love keeping by color!! It works for me. There very true about polish. Not everyone is going to love every brand and not all polish wears the same on everyone. I’m glad you love the polishes you have!!
We should totally twins with nailed it strawberry treasure. Please forgive any typos because I’m using talk to text. Also I consider that one to read. I’m very surprised you have it in the orange drawer. But I can also see that because it’s kind of in between.
I love orange/peach nails. I recently wore OPIs No Tan Lines (Fiji collection 2017) and it was gorgeous 😍🧡 You have a lovely assortment. Really enjoying this series. I understand your resistance to say you don't like a certain brand, especially if it's a fellow YTer, but you're always polite about it. Not everything works for everyone.
Thank you! It’s hard to say less than lovely things about other Ytuber brands. Especially since I make nail polish myself and am very self conscious about it. I also feel it might make me come across as a B so I worry about that as well. I do love my oranges! Just not peach 😂😂
You did good decluttering 4 this go around!!! I appreciate your honesty regarding Olive Ave & MoonShine Mani... I have never bought O&A but have seen them swatched and in my humble opinion for a boutique brand that formula is not All that (huge hype because of Walker having been a content creator kinda like that Holo Taco) and I own a handful of MSM and just thought it was my inexperience applying LOL have a gr8 wkend!!! =-)
Thank you!! The thing that made me the most mad about O&A is that creams are full price at $12 or $13 (I forget because it’s been awhile and I refuse to look) and the brushes were HORRENDOUS!! So stinking skinny and for that price and with bad formulas, I found it unacceptable.
Agree! I forgot about that part, yes at the price poiint for creams Horrendous!!! I actually unsubscribed from swatchers lying about the formula while you can plainly see it when the applied them. Now I just ignore those vid's@@NurseJackie2582
