“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

You're just the absolute best. I'm in nail school now. Watched a ton of your videos 6 months prior to school. Was totally new to the whole technology of nails and service. I've got to say, your vids are more correct and higher quality than any other tech I've seen. Your tips are awesome. And your care is incredible. School teaches that bonds and acetone aren't "toxic". Completely untrue. Your training on using efile to remove gel polish as well as acrylic sculptures is so so so much healthier for clients nails, and lu n gs and whole body. SOAK ( acetone) sucks. I trust you and I absolutely live you.❤ by the way, your acid free protein bond is healthy and effective. Thank you. Also, the school has a contract with a different line of products for students...YET, the instructors all agree that YN products are the best and they personally use YN. Lol. Lol. Students all agree that YN is the best, too. So they promote your products even though the school as an institution promotes and sells a different line. I buy your products, too. THANK YOU. LOVE TO YOU ALL.

Yess! My clients so far are only family members and they know I’m not a pro yet so they always have things to say about how I’m doing the work. I started using this grip and it’s both easier to maneuver the finger AND to block them from seeing the process. It allows me to think better when it’s just me & the nails.

You should use your base coat gel that's in builder kit, it don't pull away. It's AMAZING! You weren't zoomed in but from the distance, it looks like the color pulled away from cuticle. Why didn't you apply gel polish closer to cuticles? This looks like 1 week growth to me 🤔
@sherbertsheena
@sherbertsheena Год назад
if you get too close to the cuticle it will flood. the best method to cover the nail fully is to come back with a very thin brush that's coated with the same nail polish! it's quicker that way than to come back and clean it if the cuticle is flooded.

Thank you for the feedback. When used properly at the correct speed and with the correct bit, e-files can be used safely and without causing damage. As with any tool (hand files as well) if not trained properly, the technician can cause damage. Soaking every time can actually lead to thin/brittle nails. I’m just curious how come you never filed the free edge I did see you cut it but I never seen you file it to straighten it out and as you put the base coat on I seen lots of indentations on the free edge was that just a mistake???
@PelDenise06
@PelDenise06 3 года назад
I typically use the same techniques with my e-file to remove the product, and then I proceed as I would with a gel polish application (push cuticles, use small cuticle bit, swipe, protein bond, etc...). I noticed that you skipped the step of pushing back and cleaning the cuticles before the protein bond, like you would with any standard service. Is that because you used the diamond bit to feather around the cuticles? Just curious to see your take on this step. Your feedback is appreciated.💅🏻💗💗💗

Can over fileing lead to infection or very sensitive nails after? My auntie can't go back to the lady somehow ended up with something on her toes; i told her to go see doctor and get that checked out. Do you recommend the gel remover that are selling in a bottle? My friend trying it and i told her to look up your videos for how to remove gel. Im hoping she will get help removing her nail colors i saw her nail beds were looking raw or pink in center.😢
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 6 месяцев назад
Over filing wouldn’t necessarily cause an infection unless it broke the skin or they completely filed through the nail plate and the nail bed/soft tissue is open. If this happens, it opens the skin and could allow bacteria in. Definitely encourage your auntie to consult with her doctor to get treatment if necessary. It’s best to take care of an infection sooner rather than later. If you are wanting us soak off enhancements, we recommend using straight acetone. Some other “nail remover” products can be too harsh or even corrosive.

So at my spa, we soak the nails in water in the beginning to soften the cuticles.. we also massage the hands and arms with lotion… when should I use the drill on the nail bed to get off any oils?
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 2 месяца назад
If you are applying enhancements, we do not recommend soaking the nails or applying lotions or oils prior to the service. We would follow the steps for prepping (push back cuticles, remove shine with the efile and medium sanding band, cleanse with Swipe and apply 2 coats of Protein Bond), apply and finish your enhancements. Once the enhancements are finished, then you can apply any oils, lotions, scrubs, etc. This way the water or oils won't interfere with your adhesion prior to application.

It's really just refining the shape after the polish is applied. Sometimes the gel polish application adds some bulk to the original filing that is easily refined with a fine grit file.

@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 2 года назад
Unfortunately when you are in school, you generally have to follow their procedures, but once you are done, you can make the choices what services/tools/techniques to use. We teach to use the efile with either the medium arbor band or a diamond bit (not a carbide bit of any kind) to prep the cuticle area and body of the nail plate. If you have to prep the nail with a hand file, we recommend using a 150 grit file. File gently around the cuticle area & perimeter of the nail & that follow through the rest of the nail plate. Attached is one of our quick TikTok videos to show you how! As for gel polish on the toes, it does work great! You can do just the gel polish application as a service by itself, but if you are doing it with a full pedicure, we recommend applying the gel polish first and then finish with soaking, exfoliating and massage. This way, the gel polish goes on the dry/oil & lotion free nail surface for better adhesion. vm.tiktok.com/ZTdCW9vuM/

When wiping the dispersion layer for if it pulled away, can that trick work with any gel base that does that?

Unfortunately, we can't speak on other brands as we don't test them. We trust this video on removing and reapplying gel polish met your expectations.

@YoungNailsInc is that a240 file you use at the end? I am a DIY person trying to get my gel polish to last longer on my self and my sister I bought the protein bond (game changer!!!!!!) but thank you for teaching me how to polish correctly and hold the bottle and hand. I realized I was doing that wrong annnnnd despite thinking I wasn’t using a lot of polish I clearly was. I have watched and rewatched this video and will continue to. I am a nurse by trade and don’t have the time or the large budget to go back to school to be licensed so I learn at young nails university ❤

No, Greg is using a 150 grit file at the end.

@@youngnailsinc that's not to rough for the gel seal?

As long as you apply Protein Bond, you do not need to cap the free edge. Our gel polish will adhere well to the filed surface with Protein Bond. Some people like to cap the edges for a more finished look, but it is not necessary.

Oh my God I got the worst gel nail allergic reaction in the world. It's is so painful. It started out being just red and irritated and then all of a sudden and they were drying irritated cracking too full on infected. I've never been allergic to acrylic but I guess I am to gel. It's been 2 and 1/2 weeks of straight pain went to the doctor got some topical cream and some antibiotic I go through at least 50 bandaids within a couple days.

Besides being faster, is there any other benefit to filing gel polish off of natural nails vs soaking it off?

Sooooooo I did my own gel nails for the first time and after 7 hours they came out pretty okay I would say, but I came accross a few things I would hope someone could help me with. First of all I build the gel WITH FORMS (super scary) and after filing and everything I thought they looked pretty decent so I think to myself now colour and top cote should be easy right? NO.... I put on the first layer of colour to my left hand and I try to do my right hand and as I am doing it those fussy things from my cotton pads stick to my nails so I don't know if I should clean them with the solution or not and I end up cleaning them after every colour cote. After that they did not look as smooth anymore and weird and matte. Then I proceed to do a cow print design because why not ? and I used black art desighn gel but my dotts came out super chunky... I cured them and put the same clear building gel as a top cote wich I am not sure if I was suppored to do and after cleaning with the solution they looked matte and still sicky! So I was very frustrated and the black fat cow dotts did not cure so I put another thick layer of gel over alla the nails and this kind of saved it. Well yeahh that was my experience leave my any tips if you like I would appreciate it so much !! ps: sorry for my english I am not native 😁

1. Don't use cotton, the lint gets stuck in your nails. Lint free wipes are what you want but they're expensive so small pieces of paper towel is okay if you need to wipe off anything with alcohol.
@nailsbyanacarolina4142
@nailsbyanacarolina4142 3 года назад
2. You apply color and cure. Then after curing do not wipe! Add another coat of color if you want it darker or make a design. Only top coat once you finished.
@nailsbyanacarolina4142
@nailsbyanacarolina4142 3 года назад
The finish gel or top coat are to seal and are normally thicker, so you need to use one at the end for your nails to last.

You need to push the cuticles back to expose the protein growth on the nails.
