Even the Duke's theme is attempting to reject the influence of the depths- and this may even imply that motif is representative of The Lord Regent, since we hear it during the Etris Raid music as well.

When the Duke said "it's dukin' time" and he duked all over those level 60s, that gave me chills

ngl now that i think about it it really makes sense This music has a sad note, like a duke's sad backstory. The story of a man who went insane and sacrificed everything, even his subjects, in a desperate attempt to stop the ministry. He was a good guy till he learned what's about to happen with Etris, and then decided that the forge of sin is the only chance to stop another drowning. He was so hopeless that he saw no other way than sacrificing his subjects for the forge. And he was probably the only one, as almost everyone in Etris and Erisia don't know about lord regent, those who get curious get Kennith treatment (rip)

Undeniably the most impressive out of the whole soundtrack, the instrumental choice here is interesting and each section conveys a different aspect of the duke's battle immensely well. Everything from around 3:00 onward is some of the best i've heard from any game, let alone something from roblox. very impressive

this song is so amazing chaotic yet calm, the duke in his current state and what he once was. this song captures duke extremely well and the fight wouldn’t be the same if it didn’t have this song. i especially LOVE the part at 2:43, as to me it sounds like during the fight old memories of what once was are heard throughout, as the fight picks back up moments later this is by far probably the best dw song you have ever made nak oh my god

"So you're the one running about tripping my alarms. Care to explain yourself?" Said the Duke. "The Lord Regent sent me to retrieve the Forge." Said the pathfinder. "That thing is finally making its move. hm? I'd thought it would come personally, but the Lord Regent must see me as a mere agent's workload." "That 'thing'? Agent?" The Duke eyes the pathfinder up and down for a moment before bursting into a roaring laughter. "What?" Said the pathfinder. "I'd thought for sure you were an agent, but you're what- let me guess, some notable Etrean adventurer or something? That island's prospects are certainly grim..." Said the Duke with a smile. "There's no real point in explaining further, as this is the end of the line. Even if you gave up on the Forge, I'm not about to let one who's seen this manor's layout roam free." Says Duke as he curls his hands into fists, ready to fight the Pathfinder. The Pathfinder sees this as a challenge and tries to thrust his spear into the abdomen of Duke, he misses. Duke sees this as a way to punish the Pathfinder and hits the Pathfinder's right bicep, bruising it. The Pathfinder tries once again, this time he manages to pierce and stab the Duke, but his aim was off. It hit him in the chest, knocking him back a bit. The Duke turns around just in time to avoid being slashed. Duke moves his fist towards the spear and parries the slash of the Pathfinder, causing sparks to appear. Duke prepares to punch the Pathfinder but he feints and punches his left liver, making the pathfinder scream in pain. With the distraction, Duke decides to strike at the spine of the Pathfinder, but he is too slow. As Duke goes for a punch to the head, the Pathfinder uses the momentum from his spin and stabs his spear into Duke's forearm. A few seconds pass and the Duke's arm falls limp. He pulls out the spear and backs off. He laughs very loudly as he jumps up and tries to hit the Pathfinder's head with a javelin conjured from gale. Pathfinder then proceeds to deflect the gale javelin, hitting the Duke into the stomach. Duke collapses onto the ground, motionless. The Pathfinder gets above Duke as he gains consciousness. The Duke screams out loud : "CAN'T YOU SEE WHAT IM DOING FOR ETR-" Before Duke even finished his sentence, The Pathfinder slit Duke's throat and killed him instantly. After finishing the battle The Pathfinder decides to go back to Lord Regent to get his riches and announce that the mission is accomplished.

anyone notice how inside the music circles theres a sort of whirlpool and some kinda broken looking scythes and how outside the 2 lines spin as if they are rotating like a whirlpool. As if telling us that since the duke borderline abused a depths artifact ( the forge of sin ) just like the old people abused the song the depths are comming for him as he is abusing power greater then himself meddling with forces above him. Its as if the depths calls out to the duke and arrives straight at his doorstep in the form of the player. a celtorian that escaped the drowning of great celtor once more abused powers greater then himself just like his ancestors thus the depths called to his soul however he denied it. But you cant run from the depths as the depths call to all you just need to be strong enough to accept the call. makes you wonder if using the coral throne as much as Regent does will come back to bite him. Maybe in like a side effect like the throne drains your power little by little but grants you the power of all thats its drained in the past while sitting on it but by sitting too long it will absorb your life and send you down to the depths one more alluding to the fact that people in deepwoken are meddling with forces beyond them. Just beated duke today for the 1 time and i have to say, it was hard but i freaking loved the tension and boss music.🎉

Guh can't help it; Your blade crashes against the Celtor-man's gauntlets before you. A wicked grin and look that said it all was in his light-eyes as he moved faster than the Galebreathe he used. You barely react in time, your stance is knocked and you cough from pain of the force of his blow to your stomach. You can't help but watch as he slams his fist into you. You stumble backwards and desperately throw your blade out to block, but you're too late and you find yourself thrown to the ground and the air spitting out of your lungs at a speed you ever knew. Your vision blurs from the force your head hit the ground, you hear him step away and pick up the spectacles that belonged to him up and off of the ground. You feel your soul holding on desperately from drowning out as you manage to push yourself up enough just to see him take a step closer. The Duke adjusted his glasses and then his gloves before reaching down for your throat, his fingers wrapping around perfectly as he lifted you upwards. You cough up blood as he pulls you up, firmly pressing his fingers just hard enough to cut off some of your airflow, but not all of it. You can't help but watch his eyes with an anger you'd forgotten you had. The Duke smiles, the green lighting of the tubes and poor yellow lights on the ceiling light his face up just enough to see who he truly is. "You'll be a fine addition to the Forge," he said as you heard the sound of your own neck cracking, and your soul screaming for air as you found yourself being drowned and dragged to the Depths.

i wish the boss fights in deepwoken had a more action packed single player tone to them (don't get me wrong deepwokens boss fights are great) for example the implementations of qte's would be cool as like executions or in the middle of the fight to shake up the combat of the bosses, also perhaps implementation of more distinct phases to bosses with a short cut scene transformation (perhaps with a qte?) but then again i don't know I'm just an inexperienced coder with barley any experience in making games who doesn't really understand the technical limitations of Roblox or deepwoken, just thought it could be cool and would fit the tone of naktigonas's themes perfectly.

The first half is good but holy shit is the second half pure 🔥🔥🔥

As much as we joke about our favourite forced LGBT representation being Duke, we gotta admit this is like the best fucking track in the entire soundtrack, closely seconded by the Eternal Gale/Layer 2 portion of the soundtrack. The story and character that is oozing out of this song is unlike anything else in the soundtrack, except for the Ferryman themes. It is genuinely stunning just how tallented Naktigonis really is at translating feelings into music. There's a heroic desperation to this piece, fitting for the duke, a man consumed by his conviction of saving his people and his island, it inevitably causes him his downfall. Which is why i think the "reverse" depths leitmotif at the end really does sell the idea the duke is doomed to the same cycle as everyone else.

I hope the duke had a update where he could be a more intimidating/final boss kind of boss. right now he’s easy to kill with block breaking weapons and builds, but maybe he could have more control over the battlefield, maybe pinning you to a wall with his fist, or even using his bell to make golems while he floats in the air with his gale shield and gale breath pushing him upwards. maybe he escapes from the depths by the skin of his teeth and he snaps, trying to kill everybody or just the player to guard the forge. honestly anything that makes him more intimidating and bosslike because he seems so cool and this boss theme makes it even better.
