Adulteration parameters
pH: Detection of adulteration with acids or bases
The test is based on a double indicator system. With this method, a broad pH range between pH 2 and pH 12 can be covered. This means the easily distinguishable colour changes range from orange at low pH values to brown at high pH values.
Creatinine: Test for dilution
Creatinine reacts with the creatinine indicator under alkaline conditions to produce a brown complex. The concentration level is directly proportional to the colour intensity of the reaction field.
