I can’t believe pple still think he loved her as a sister after her death 🤦🏻‍♀️

Iman Ejaz The thing with Seon Ho is that his character is more complex than a rubix cube and most people cannot grasp his complexity. It doesn’t help that a lot of viewer bias also comes to play. Being a writer myself, I have given this character a lot of thought. And here’s my interpretation of him. Not saying I’m right and others are wrong or that I don’t have any unconscious bias playing here, but this is my take. Seon Ho was bi and poly. He was in love with both Hwi and Yeon. Hwi was the one he loved first. I don’t know how same sex relationships were accepted in the time period this show is set in, but I’m going to assume it was taboo. Given that assumption, it’s safe to say that he likely never acted on his feelings. When he took in Yeon, Seon Ho did view her as a sister. But slowly, over the years, his feelings changed without him realizing it. As him and Hwi continued to both fail and protect each other, Seon Ho realized that the only person standing next to him was Yeon. I believe it was when he saw her dead body was when he realized that he was in love with her too. That is what makes this character so tragic. He had a sexuality that was most likely deviant for his time, which made his already tough life even more difficult. Love is a complex emotion and Seon Ho was an even more complex character. Things were never going to be easy for him.

Aindrila Roy I respect your opinion but I doubt he loves Hwi like how you think. They were the only people who took him in so obviously Hwi is precious to him but even when was reunited with Hwi he is still rushing to his death to be reunited with Yeon. You should read the writers interview on their drama
