I played the original ridge racer on play station and it's similar to the arcade version

I think by that time they were making the games with the thought of immediately porting them to the home systems....

This is a pretty fascinating find. I've never seen a standing cab of any of the Ridge Racer games.

We've had two or three of Ridge Racer 2, but never seen any of the others. They might have only done this one title that way, not sure...

The detail in the game is extraordinary, especially for... what is it 1994? But I could never get used to the perspective!

I've never seen a upright ridge racer that looks pretty sweet, I've seen loads of twin sit-downs and single sit downs, my local arcade back in the mid 90s had the full scale ridge racer with the big red car and massive screen, I love this game its not the most realistic driving game but heck its hella fun playing it and always loved namcos choice of announcer at this time of Namco games he voiced a few games then including alpine racer 2, he always sounded like he was high as feck sniffing lines off the dash before he recorded those voice overs 😁
