This would convince me to remove QC. Basically a redstone dust block that you choose how it connects. Send a connection up, down, forwards across an entire wall, pass under a dust line, turn a corner next to a piston. The uses of QC would be cut to a fifth. Also, no need for tile entities, use tags like fences: [connection=[north,up,west]]
