Are JoJo references still cool?
The question of what the single worst Limit Break in the game is a difficult one, because you have to consider many different factors-
It's Mother Earth, without a doubt.
All other Limit Breaks have at least some extremely niche use, such as Supernova being the most powerful source of burn in the game, Tsunami being able to freeze enemies for 9 turns, and Mighty Oak is still used as the definitive strongest single earth attack in the game. With a power rating barely above the 2CD spell Judgement, the poison effect that isn't nearly powerful enough to secure a kill and an absolutely meaningless defensive team status, I can safely say that I have never once used nor have found any theoretical uses for Mother Earth, at least in Vanilla EBF5. It's also permanently stuck on a character with no good magical equipment that boost bio damage, and cannot learn a single magic bio spell.
The same question for summons has a lot more room for discussion, but at least for v1, I think I can safely say it was Laurelin. Where other summons at least pretended to have additional effects or was a relevant enough element that you could theoretically come up with applications for them, the fact that it was a meaningless magic attack buff stacked onto the worst (in terms of direct damage) offensive element, and all in all being a boss summon that had both a power penalty and higher cost compared to its single target alternatives single it out as the worst summon, or at least until Rafflesia was added with all of the above issues.
The fact that it buffs magic attack but is itself physical means that boosting efficiently is impossible, you'd have to debuff both defenses as well as only being able to use one of Invisible or Enchanted at a time. The final joke of this piece of shit is that it technically supports using Mother Earth as a follow up, since it is a magic damage, bio elemental limit break. Though (non-virus) bio is bad for a variety of reasons in this game, the fact that the poster LB and summon for the element were so awful definitely played a part in it too.
Anyway, we only just recently discovered a bug where Laurelin didn't have any finalhits coded for the summon, which means that it doesn't affect any statuses that expire on hit, while taking full advantage of the bonuses given. With this revolutionary new discovery, I set out to create the worst FTK imaginable. The conditions placed were:
Most of the damage has to be done by Mother Earth and Laurelin
Mother Earth has to be used after Laurelin and can't buff further, so we can benefit from that juicy +60% MA
The strat has to be in such a way that you do benefit from the effective +1 to status count as a result of missing finalhit
The last hit has to be done by the poison tick of Mother Earth, just to show how useless it is
Starting off, I get some insane RNG precisely when I didn't need it. The kill is a 6 move FTK using Cherry Blossom weather storage, so any single proc would have had the same result if followed up by Viking Monolith. Also, Coralia can't benefit from Haste at all due to being a foe that takes two turns by default. There isn't really any RNG involved aside from that, except for, well, Mother Earth having only a 100% chance of poison while Coralia has 70% resistance. Even Supernova with its breathtaking inanity had the decency to have 300% chance for its garbage status.
Oh yeah, Mother Earth and Laurelin are still useless, there's far simpler, more consistent FTKs of Coralia that don't use weather storage.
