She honestly destroyed her game the moment she told him to shut up. The rest of the stuff she was saying could be worked over in the morning back at camp, but that just switched up the entire mood there. She made herself the easy vote. People forget this is a social game and a lot of players run on emotions and not necessarily strategy.
Kelly Wentworth and David Wright's interactions were so iconic this tribal council. 2:31 - "Hi. Remember me? :) " "Yes (giggling), I remember you." 3:13 - "What was the plan tonight, can you tell m-?" "You." "It was me?" "Yep." "(Recoiling) Well thank you for your honesty." The two remaining returning players being so polite and courteous with one another moments after pulling the knives out of the other's back 😂
They realized quickly it wasn't in their best interest to go after each other as neither would get any capital from doing. Incredibly impressive, the level of play this season was insane.
@@survivorfreaknr It's honestly still soul crushing to me that we had a season of incredibly fluid, dynamic and aggressive gameplay and then the stupid twist of the season ruined everything at the last minute.
I reckon they decided to give Julia a smaller edit because of the whole racial incident with Joe at the start of the game, and not wanting to ruin his reputation. The season would have aged a lot better if it just buried Joe, based on everything he's done since...
@@jackdean2537 Kama were playing some game where you quote movies and Joe thought it was funny to quote something with the n word repeatedly. Julia felt really uncomfortable but didn't want to say anything incase it impacted her game. Then Ron led a tribe discussion about it to explain to Joe why he was acting inappropriately.
Probably the best episode in Edge of Extinction. I can think of a couple other iconic tribal councils: Randy in Gabon- Randy thinking he has the hidden immunity idol and the greatest voting confessionals of all time Wes in San Juan del Sur- the moment Keith says “stick to the plan” all hell breaks loose Sarah in Cagayan- a minority of five playing not one, but TWO idols incorrectly, and it turns out they didn’t need them because someone in the majority flipped
Malcolm in Game Changers is also up there, because we have the first live tribal in Survivor history, Hali's "I didn't consent," and JT once again getting himself in trouble thanks to spilling to Brad that his new tribe was all voting for Sierra, which in turn got Brad to tell Tai to play his idol on Sierra
I remember this one being so iconic to viewers haha I didn’t know after like 5 seasons of live tribals we would get such a good one but damn we did 😂 this season had its moments can’t lie
I swear this season would’ve been top tier if it wasn’t for the theme or winner. The gameplay especially in the merge of this season is so entertaining in my opinion it’s just great!!!!
I was so heartbroken when Rick didn't win, before he got eliminated I was struggling to see who I'd root for because I knew Joe wouldn't win unfortunately. But once Rick got back in the game I was rooting for him all the way, he played such a great and entertaining game. Him losing didn't upset me, just left and genuinely sad and disapoint ed. I respect how Chris gave up his immunity necklace to battle him at fire, but I don't think he deserved it as much as Rick did.
@@kallelbrown9761 I was rooting for Gavin, Lauren, Victoria and Devens all the way. I wanted Wentworth to do well but I knew that the returning had a big hill to climb the newbies on this season were definitely more advanced players in my opinion!!! I thought Gavin was going to win half way through the merge because of his flawless social game. I don’t think he missed casted a vote for the entire season and he didn’t receive any votes for the season. He knew what was going on all the time and was in complete control. I get that’s not a very flashy game but still I think Gavin played a great game!!!
Rick Devens is my favorite castaway off all time. I'll never forget when he found his third immunity idol and then continued to run around the jungle just to mess with everyone who was following him. And he made two fake idols and Julia and I think the other girls name was Laura found them and they both played them at the same tribal council, that was pure gold. Also can't forget that time he burned Ron when he gave an expired immunity idol advantage but Rick had a real one as back up and Ron got blindsided.
If the winner had been anybody but chris, i feel like this would be a consensus top 5 season. This cast is just magic, too bad Jeff’s EoE ideas marred the whole thing.
Yes I adore this cast they were all so entertaining. Honestly not really a dud in the bunch but the whole theme kinda ruined it eoe is cool in theory but in practice it just didn’t live up
I’ll never forget this tribal I stopped watching the show after Koah Rong and I randomly watched this episode when it came on live on the network and it pulled me back into to survivor and made me remember how great this show and game is!!!!
That sounds like a nightmare timeline. Imagine missing out on DvG one season earlier and arriving just in time for the second half of EoE followed by Island of the Idols. Are you still a fan after that rough reintroduction?
@@nasecoo of course I am. I am upset I couldn’t watch David vs Goliath live when it was on the air because it is my favourite season of all time I binge watched that season for the first time during the pandemic in like 2 days I think it was so good. As for both the edge of extinction and island of the idols i don’t find them bad seasons. Extinction is viewed as a bad season because of basically the winner who won because of the twist which was the theme of season. And for island of the idols if we look past Dan which I know is hard it’s a half decent season I love the entire cast of island of the idols subtract Dan. I found 41 and 42 to be more unbearable just with all the twists and rushed gameplay. 43 and 44 are very good seasons and I’m currently really enjoying 45
I need to see Aurora come back for another season. "I can't deal with soccer moms" and "post-merge challenges are all about the skinny lean people" were iconic.
Yeah what julie did wasnt strategic, it was panic mode on the ultra dumb option. She didnt plan that or want that to happen rly. She just did whatever because she was on an emotional high. Thats not deserving of praise
Eoe was the first season my mom and I watched. I've always liked it more than others but I assumed it was nostalgia goggles. This proves it's only half nostalgia.
I LOVE live tribals! The blatant scramble and revelations of lies is awesome! A secondary awesome part is when someone is like “I’m openly jumping ship!”
I remember watchiing this the night it aired and seriously laughing my ass off, and thinkin this has got to be the craziest tribal council that's ever happened LOL
Maybe the Jonathan vote out in survivor Philippines when he yelled Denise in his confessional , refused a hug from Abi , then said suck eggs , and then whistled the survivor theme song on his way out might be better
Calling someone a "passenger" and then immediately getting voted off and becoming the actual passenger in the legend that is Rick Devens' story. Poetic Justice if I've ever seen it.
I come back to this tribal every now and then to remind myself that edge of extinction was actually a phenomenal season, barring the twists. So many jury members were great characters and are completely forgotten I feel after less than 10 seasons simply because of the ending and the editing of the season. Victoria was an underrated great player, Julie was a complete loose cannon, Gavin was even more useless than I remember, aurora was always saying the worst things and somehow surviving, Ron was always good tv, hell even Julia here proved to be a good character when there was actually focus on her. I think if this was an all newbie season without the edge twist it might have legit been in the top 10-15 seasons all time. Just unfortunate that so many good characters got buried in the edit just to give more highlight to the edge players, which was necessary to tell the Chris story, undermining the actual game being played.
I SAW THIS LIVE, ON AIR MAN IT WAS CRAZZZZZZZZZZZZY. 15 year old me could not FATHOM what was occuring before my eyes. 2nd season of survivor too imagine that. Never peaked again
I lose respect for people when they use getting voted out as a platform to give a speech. You’re the last person anyone wants to hear talk at that point. It’s the opposite of what you should do after you lose Survivor lol
Julia shot herself in the foot by overplaying her hand, thinking she was more powerful than she actually was. Her words is what set everything in motion and I enjoyed every minute of it. #TeamDevens
Love this tribal council there another iconic tribal council in game changers with the immunity train and Cirie getting out of the game because there is no one else to vote for.
