South Africa should do the same. We should get rid of the "beggar mentality." The policy of not needing a visa is open to abuse, and foreigners who enter your country treat you with contempt and a lack of respect.
Very true. That’s exactly how Shrien Dewani was able to disrespect our country by coming to un-alive his wife here thinking he’d get away with it. He lacked respect for it & it was seen as a Banana republic. Hopefully in a few years we can turn things around🇿🇦💐👍🏾
@@jameskillu9171those ones will mostly always need visas into South Africa, too thirsty to come here. Only SADC & few non-SADC African countries don’t need visas to come to SA because SA is a prime destination inAfrica and we don’t want undesirables coming here. Stay dreaming though
@@platophilosopher1293 You are just MAD your leaders are too incompetent to develop your country. Worry about unemployment instead of a stupid visa. It's obvious you are mad
I mean if a country does not offer you a visa exception, why would you want to give them the exception? It’s a no brainer. Please respect the Namibian people. And also these SA people must stop meddling! It’s a matter of principle! If countries do not offer you visa free entry why should you do the same?
Visa exemption doesn't mean tourists are not welcome. This is a good move by Namibia, the whole of Africa must follow. This second-class treatment must stop. Africa has resources that account to most of our country's economy, tourism is just a dent. They must start paying and respecting our country,
If I need a visa to come to your country. You should need a visa to come to mine. More African countries should follow suit. The way we struggle to get visas as Africans. While Europeans can just pack and come to our countries visa free. Not cool.
@@daniellehuman2174 Except those Europeans , Americans, etc. DON"T come to stay here for free and rely on our health system, etc. They bring BILLIONS into Africa with indirect foreign investments and with their OWN health insurance, etc. So , perhaps a tad of ignorant bias on your side?
@@psylentrage We don’t go and stay there for free as well. But yet. We pay for our visas, pay for travel insurance etc. just the same as they do when they visit us. But yet. They don’t need visas and we do. And the amount of hoops that we have to do just to get the damn visas. We literally have to show them our lives in forms of documentation just for us to go and spend a week or a month in their countries. I will be the first one to say that I appreciate their tourism in to our country. But if we need visas to go there. They should need visas to come here.
Visa fee is non refundable, The EU makes more money from visa rejections especially from Africans than Visa issuance..... Let it be a tit for Tat.... kudos to Namibian govt.
I am a Namibian. British and Americans come to Namibia for free but I must do medical check up + visa. Foreigners from these countries still don’t need to apply visa, but have to pay for certain amount of money upon arrival at the airport.
Maybe this help. Except those Europeans , Americans, etc. DON"T come to stay here for free and rely on our health system, etc. They bring BILLIONS into Africa with indirect foreign investments and with their OWN health insurance, etc. So , perhaps a tad of ignorant bias on your side?
@psylentrage Really? They exploit our laws and systems because it favours them. They don't bring billions, they make billions. This money that you talking about, who profits from it? Definitely not the people of this country or any African country for that matter!
If those countries could relax their visa demands for Namibia it could help Namibia with its unemployment problems. Namibian businesses will be able to access many markets. We can’t be beggars forever because of fear of being blackmailed with employment, foreign investment and all those things that have zero track record of improving African lives.
I think an eVisa or visa on arrival is too easy. They should have to do what we have to do: make a visa appointment, visit an embassy, pay an expensive fee, and submit their application forms, which consist of countless documents including their bank statements. Then, they should wait three weeks for a response. That sounds fair.
South Africa should do the same, they’ll get extra revenue from the visa applications. Zimbabwe did this in the early 2000s yet their tourism numbers are still comparable to countries like Kenya and Tanzania. If a tourist can’t come to SA due to a Visa application fee then they’re not a worthy tourist.
If Americans and Europeans want to really visit your country they’ll get the visa like we do when we wanna visit their countries. Last year got denied Schengen and US visa without any explanation. Nearly 15k gone without even an explanation… I work for big American company and I studied in Germany, never once did I go against their laws.
Actually they are being fools. The African will forever be a fool You are hurting your tourism industry. Killing jobs You want to take yourself SERIOUSLY..... START competing on the global market. The foolishness of your comment
Namibia has recently revised its visa requirements, removing the need for visas for citizens of 31 countries. This move aims to boost tourism and economic growth in the country. The list of exempt countries includes: 1. Australia 2. Austria 3. Belgium 4. Canada 5. Cuba 6. Denmark 7. Finland 8. France 9. Germany 10. Greece 11. Iceland 12. Ireland 13. Italy 14. Japan 15. Liechtenstein 16. Luxembourg 17. Netherlands 18. New Zealand 19. Norway 20. Paraguay 21. Portugal 22. Russia (diplomatic and official passports only) 23. Slovakia 24. Slovenia 25. South Africa 26. Spain 27. Sweden 28. Switzerland 29. United Kingdom 30. United States 31. Uruguay Please note that visa requirements can change, and it's always a good idea to check with the Namibian embassy or consulate for the latest information before traveling.
🤔 Namibia and Botswana seem really close. Why aren't we invited to the table 😂 imagine Namibia, Botswana and SA having a close economic relationship. We could basically dominate africa
You’re so clueless; SA, Namibia, Lesotho and Eswatini are part of 1 special trading block Southern African Customs Union so yeah these 4 countries work closely together and we have ancestral ties with each other. But doubt SA will implement this visa blockade as we tend to be a bit more pragmatic
@@thandisilec835 "you're so clueless" ....so you woke up and chose violence this morning. My dear ,we all know about the trading unions and our cultural connections . You should've asked what I meant about " dominating Africa" , perhaps I meant having a single unique currency or something else like connecting rail lines. Unfortunately wa phapha
Namibia discovered oil, and there is a massive amount of germans there who own alot of land, sooo i think its sort of a payback.. indipendent country doing what it wants, not sure whats the problem here.
They enter our countries free and we need to pay. Its unfair and doesn’t make sense. You go Namibia! SA should do the same! The visa process for Africans is difficult. They reject you for the dumbest things. Its costly.
@johnsmith99997 We are not discussing missing persons here. This is about visa's and fairness. Why should they have a free pass while we have to pay and then get treated as criminals?
He represents nothing,he is one of those who's there to protect their colonial interests...remember they are white with European names so no discrimination on their part going to Europe
This good lets hope SA follows this excellent example. They can also collect revenue from visa applicants overseas. Why should westerners have special treatment ? We have to apply for visa to visit them. Eish the ANC might not have the balls n honor..
I dobt agree with this strategy of tit for tat currently Cape Town is benefiting from a tourism boom with this Digital nomads which will create employment
This ou bal is so out of touch! Who cares about the tourism if citizens are being ignored! He probably has a tourism business and is worried that HIS money will be affected. This is the same argument WC makes, always tourism over the actual citizens. You talk about "unemployment", what if those stats ignore the citizens that are entrepreneurs?? This is bs mahn and good on Namibia! The economy only works for big business, NOT ordinary citizens, so stop bringing that up as if people should care about it. People are not falling for that anymore! Barcelona was so gatvol of the over-tourism that they were literally chasing tourists out their country with water pistols! The citizens of your country, and their livelihoods matter MORE, and should be first priority, not damn tourism!!
Exactly, his opinion is based solely on his personal interests and definitely not of the country. That's why he even looks so emotional on television, it's embarrassing.
Even people employed in that sector are massively underpaid and are as good as being unemployed...so what's his point?blackmailing us with unemployed doesn't even work anymore
Super Namibia! Well done! Other African countries that still offer open borders to people who shun them, must follow suit. Reciprocity is the name of the game. And it is a useful source of revenue for the government too. Just ask the north Americans.😉
Is the cost tabulated already? If so, travel agents should just pre charge and apply on behalf of their clients when the facility is up. I think the rest of us should follow suite in solidarity with our Namibian siblings… we can not leave them out to dry.
It s... This guy doesn't want to say the truth... We offering visa on arrival which is only 60 eruos... Which is very cheap but this guy doesn't want to speak da truth
@@kaulumapaulus9234 interesting. I wonder if it’s just from disappointment at having to do some more work. But then again, that’s what employees are there for. Just provide the solution and charge accordingly.
It includes" USA, UK, France, Germany, China, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Israel, Iraq, Japan, Netherlands the list goes on. Just Google. They are 31 that Namibia removed.
If South Africa can humiliate a young lady just because her parent is not South African, then they should let us Namibian to do what is right for us. Namibia will not give rights to a Country to enter free while we don't enter free in their countries. If we are applying for visas in other countries, then they should also do the same when they enter in Namibia. We are a proud country and we respect those that respect us. Botswana and Namibia are in one agreement.
That young lady's mother stole someones identity document & fraudulantly raised Chiddimma as a South African while the real SAns were denied their rights ,do you flippen understand tht ? Do you understand what identity theft does to someones future ambitions ? Namibia is a desert 🏜
I don’t think South Africa is interested in interfering in the domestic issues of Namibia,I personally like what Namibia is doing. On the matter of “humiliating a young lady”, I think we should also sympathise with the young South African lady who suffered all her life because of her stolen identity.
Imposing restrictions on visa exemptions will be disastrous for South Africa. Right now, Europe is suffering a wave of anti-tourist sentiment (with good reasons), so Southern African tourism should be stepping up to capture those tourists, not making silly tit-for-tat decisions.
These guys are not bright. The Africans can barely build roads. The are terrible business people and cannot run governments...and corrupt. I feel sorry for the intellectuals there. Name one African country that is a powerhouse They would destroy the world if they had the power
Always remember if your currency is linked to the dollar Than think you are not in charge Overnight you can be bankrupt Another country tried that fell very hard
Namibian currency might be called the Namibian Dollar (N$) but it’s not linked to the US$😂😂😂it’s linked to the South African rand (R)😂😂hence why our exchange rate is always R1=N$1😂😂after all they gained their Independence from South Africa🤷we used to be 1 country.
