Giraffes are so classy, “I’m not going to run you off, I’m just going to stand close looking very intimidating while you walk away”. Class and sophistication personified!! 🦒
Such a relief to see obtaining water from a ground source less of a vulnerable task. That is on top of giraffe visiting, with little one to boot. I hope we get to watch it learn and grow up. 🤗
The Giraffes and the Oryx are both spectacular in their own way. I can never get over the length of some of the Oryx's antlers! The same length as their body on some of them!!!!
Horns, not antlers :) Antlers are branched and generally found on members of the cervid family :) Horns exist on many hoofstock ruminants, and they are bony protrusions that do not branch :) Not trying to be a dick just politely correctly :)
@@azurehue2248 You are indeed correct sir! Yes, antlers are made of bone and can have a covering of skin at times, and are almost always shed each year, whereas horns are covered in keratin, generally aren't. And just to put things to right even further, Giraffes have "ossicones" which are permanently covered in skin and fur. Thanks Dick. 😉
one of the best videos on RU-vid is yours… What a nice break from all the human games anxiety chaos and anarchy or how about just plain idiocy… This was refreshing thank you for sharing I appreciate you.
Most oryx: scared and run off One oryx: I will fight you..... or maybe not... oh I can fight the smaller giraffe....well, still a bit tall to fight... Boss oryx: Look, we can all drink peacefully together
These wonderful beings enjoying this water made the cover of National Geographic Magazine for December, 2021 and the accompanying poster and related articles. I am grateful to be here.
They’re truely majestic animals….I saw one at our Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney Australia….when I was younger… it would be fantastic see some in the wild… but I doubt that will happen..this is incredible watching it now!🦒🥰
Absolutely amazing! Such beautiful animals. Although now I’m singing the Toys R Us commercial! I don’t want to grow up, I’m a Toys R Us kid. Nice to see Geoffrey and his family! 🥰🕊
The guy which has difficulty to bend is being bullied by the others. Probably because he is acting abnormally. Also they continuously think that there’s a crocodile in that pool of water. Living in constant fear must be agonising.
One of these giraffes is covered in lumpy things. Are the animals followed up by vets? Seems a shame if they're not, seeing as how we're benefiting from watching them. I hope whom ever owns this camera puts money towards the animals' health too. Love this channel, and I am very grateful to be able to see these things. Maybe consider a 'donate' option for us to help with the animals' health.
A bit of searching says that this is a papilloma virus, spread by birds pecking ticks off them. It isn't life threatening in itself, but the lumps can get itchy and if a wound is opened by scratching it can lead to infection.
@@melindastclair He really doesn't look very well at all with what ever is going on. That can't be good. And since it's a virus and passed on by birds, then it could go through the population. That would be disastrous.
@@karloarsch1579 Look at it from our side Karl. We have a man who will not live more than 80 years on this planet telling us there is no God. A man who has to acknowledge his humility everytime he uses the toilet. A man who will make thousands of mistakes before he dies and a man who will change his opinions on multiple subjects as he gains age, wisdom and experience in his lifetime. I find it interesting that God said: " For I am Jehovah: I do not change" Malachi 3:6 ✌
Someone answered in another post same question. Papillomavirus causes wart like bumps. Suggest looking that up. As for sick, no more of a condition if that is what we see here.
Does anyone know if the park officials have checked on the health of that young giraffe with papillomavirus?? It was having A LOT of trouble drinking...I imagine it had to be very painful to bend down to drink water-which is why I think it was struggling so much :/
We thought about the watering hole, would it be possible to make concrete channels like a plus sign, then various species can drink at the same time or will there be too much evaporation? Even this being an old video, it is great to see the wild life coming for water. These cameras are wonderful, it gives an opportunity to many viewers to enjoy animals in their natural environment.❤
It is man made and maintained by a company which operates lodges nearby and uses this channel for promotion. A well, behind the camera, fills a separate reservoir and water drains from that reservoir to this water hole. A live feed is available if you click on the name of the channel. The geographic coordinates are -24.074923 15.887410. Google street view provides images, coming as close as that sign you see about a hundred feet out just to the left of the water hole. Other images are available from a drone showing how green it gets after their summer rains.
@Healing through 🤗 Feeling 🤗 Good wish, but that would be against nature. Natural waterholes and pans are always on the ground. This waterhole is man made, but as near to a natural as possible.
How could a giraffe defend from an Oryx?..The Oryx horn is perfect for defending from a giraffe..The giraffe has with no means of defense except for fleeing!..
I mean, when two male giraffes fight when trying to get with a lady, and they have a neck fight, it's pretty aggressive and they can even break their necks
