Well said I feel this way too I did once want to get married but then though about it for along time and decided I don't ever want too marriage isn't for everyone I'm glad that Namjoom spoke about this was many feel this way too if he doesn't want to ever marry thats perfectly fine. I used to think the way that Namu did, that it was an inevitable event but as time passed and I experienced abusive relationships I started to fear that getting married was going to trap me in a situation that I couldn’t escape from. And my father passing makes me doubt further that marriage is destined for me as the parts that make the ceremony special like my partner having asked my father for my hand in marriage and being walked down the aisle and being given into my husband’s hands are no longer possible. I may yet find myself married, I just don’t expect it anymore. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@sakshikamble3104 It’s sad that it’s that way now honestly. A woman saying no to anything is just assumed to be playing hard to get and their no is disregarded. I’ve seen too many videos uploaded by ladies who are just minding their own business and who are then approached but when they repeatedly state that they’re not interested have even had their property damaged like this one video where a lady was going to her vehicle after shopping and some guy ran his shopping cart into her car damaging it after she told him no multiple times, that she was good and didn’t need help loading her groceries. To me that’s assault because if she hadn’t purposely put her vehicle between them he could’ve seriously hurt her personally and that shit needs to stop like yesterday.

I agree with Namjoon and anyone who has no issue of being single until they are 100% sure of their love for someone and vice versa. People who RUSH marriage or STUCK in arranged marriages that end up being DV or controlling etc have no way of getting out of it same with young couple relationships if their still mentally growing themselves and don’t know what theyre getting into when it comes to committing to someone thinking it will be forever or until they get tired of each other and start acting out those types are worthless. *When individuals are destined to be together then GOD will let you know if it’s right or not, don’t always go by flesh feelings of deceived LOVE going head first into an unpredictable relationship.*

He questions it, there so many women that "settle" or even expected to settle just to have children, while men use and see marriage as an accomplishment of a task on a to do list (ie marriage after job). Nothing wrong w traditional thinking, but blindly following it and not question if you yourself has what it takes to be that husband or that wife.

I think most of us are scared of marriage because we only get the failure stories or the complaints from married people, while the happily married ones just lead their normal lives. As someone who has been married over 20 years, I must say I agree with you. Relationships are never easy, but it is totally worth it in the long run, provided love and respect goes both ways. I once read that if both people in a relationships feels they are giving approx. 70 percent and recieving 30%, that relationship will be close to perfectly balanced, and I believe that to be true too. It all evens out with time anyway.

I’m questioning marriage and I’m just wondering how did you know your partner was a person you can do this with? Im in a relationship but I’m terrified.

@@deergreentea2847 events that led to us getting married kind of certified everything for me. He was everything that I needed at that time. It was the most difficult time of my life. I had just completed varsity and was greatly battling depression. As you know with depression you isolate yourself, and he was the only person I felt safe and happy while I was with. He was never in my case about anything, he just made himself available to me and was super great with listening to me when I vented or when I was vulnerable. With time I realized he was literally my HOME because I would not experience things like anxiety or pressure to act a certain way with him. My simple advice is, don't look for material things, you can both work on that together. Just look for green flags and establish their importance to you. If the green flags outweign the red ones, go for it. But if it's vice versa, wait a bit, the right one will come eventually.

​@@deergreentea2847 I don't know I should say it or not because I was never in a relationship. As a girl , we have so many insecurities. I am 19 and 2of my classmates got married. One of them was my friend though we were not close but she used to share her thoughts with me most bcz we were neighbors. Recently, she moved with her husband and I met her during her visit here. I asked her about marriage and she said at first she find it awkward. She said that they became friends and comfortable with each other and share everything about their insecurities. Then they took steps further.(at first I didn't understand but she explain 😅) But still I am very uncomfortable with these. But I think you should give time to understand each other.If you are insecure about something you should talk with your partner. In a relationship, you both should understand each otherband understand each others emotions.😊 Marriage come with responsibility from both sides. But I don't have any intention of getting married or getting into relationship before 27 bcz I have my own plans. And then I will think about marriage and child 😊.

If you feel terryfied with the vision of marriage with your boyfriend you should sit down and discuss things. He migh not be the one if you do not feel safe. How did you know that he's the one from the beginning? I met someone I'm interested in but I don't know how to tell if he's the right one or not.. we are not dating yet, only being friends right now. Whenever I thought someone is "The One", it always turns out the opposite. I've been single for 7 years so I'm not sure how should I feel about him.

@@ataraxia7949 I don’t know that I knew from the very beginning. In fact I was dating someone when I first met him, so we were just acquaintances for a number of months first. We spent time together in groups, hanging out, and eventually being friends, exactly. Over a bit of time and after my (casual) relationship had fully fizzled out, it was clear that our universes swirled around one another more and more and that was mutual and uplifting and made us both better. I hadn’t ever felt that way about even other boyfriends I had had, even the perfectly nice and fun ones. I think the best indications for me were how much respect I had for him (look for INTEGRITY!) as I saw the choices he was making in his life and how he treated people and the reports of old friends of his as I got to know them and how super comfortable and like myself I felt around him versus just the feelings of dating someone fun and good looking and exciting but honestly at arms length emotionally and not truly a best friend like I soon realized he had become. It sounds cliche and vague but he’s my other half and he just gets me. That rapport takes time and thankfully you don’t have to know right away. Do good things for your life, work on your own health and development and just stay open to meeting people and just getting to know them without even artificially bringing in the concept of dating. I had actually become closer to several of his friends first who then invited me to things so that we got to know each other in natural social settings. It just became undeniable and the rest is history! It was never a given to me that I would even get married but I’m so glad I just lived my life without setting a fixed idea like it was a checklist item to force or something to avoid. Best of luck!

This is adorable and I'm happy for you but I disagree that it's sad. Most marriages are bad and don't have the benefits you found. It's way better for most people to be single unless they have your unique ability to find the right one and get lucky by actually finding someone good for them 💜

i would rather be scared of marriage than scared to be alone. marriage can ruin multiple people's lives (partner, family, children). I think its worse when people rush to marriage because they are afraid to be alone.

For me, marriage is something unimportant, it depends on each person, we have different visions about it.
