Go jimmy go man go ! Sounds great were so close to beating the original B3 what's left ? To start adding all the bells and whistles than the huge consoles had like the big Wurlitzer & others like Thomas had seeing as how it can be done thru modeling It shouldn't be to long before were there. Its been great living long enough to see it all come full circle. And think of what a laptop that software and a controller can do. For 1/3 the price of a B3 was in the 70s not counting the price of a Leslie its a great time to be Alive. Thanks Jim you've come a long way & you sound like you've Learned a ton of history of the many Uses and all the tricks we have tried to use to create our own flair & flavor. You have now become a big part of the Suzuki Hammond legend
Sounds great! Does the B-3X plug in organ still receive and play back the XK-5's, 3 contact water fall keyboard feature? Also, how does the B-3X sound compare to Hammond XK-5 sound? Cool that the B-3X has a template already mapped for the XK-5 as you still need an organ keyboard to get the most out of any organ sound so use the XK-5 as a pure controller.
I have a Nord Electro 3 so she's getting on now but has been a faithful workhorse to this day for cover/ blues/ funk bands. IK Multimedia has done an outstanding job with this, I'm very impressed. The level of detail and tweekability is great. I now use my Nord as the organ controller as it beats the Nord and if you can set up stereo on stage you can really get a sense of the leslie. The latest version now remembers your midi settings.
hello Jim I wanted to tell you that I have a korg kronos keyboard and I bought the hammond b3x program and I wanted to ask you how to make the connections from the notebook to the keyboard to convert my korg and be able to use the b3x program. From already thank you very much
Is there a 'favorites' section in the software? That is ... can I dial in my top 3 or 4 organs and then recall them instantly? I will be using the iPAD version primarily for live performances so I need to be able to get to the 'patch' that I will use pretty quickly. Many thanks.
Yes you can recall setups with great speed. Even Jordan Rudess was able to do so when he used Hammond B-3X - on iPad! - for a live gig with Deep Purple www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?id=jordanrudesshammondshow
@@arsconsulting205 Hi Randy. So many options with a PA for keyboards. I used to sell keyboards at a large retailer for five years--synths, pianos, organs, etc. I can tell you without hesitation ... if you are not in a position to haul around a large Leslie ... definitely include a subwoofer in your PA to get full enjoyment from your keys ... especially software like this amazing Hammond app. I personally use the Bose tower system with subwoofer as my keyboard monitor at live performances. Electro voice recently came out with a very nice tower, too, at about half the price of the Bose, and I'm a big fan of QSC powered speakers for our larger gigs. Of course be sure and try them out in person so you know what you are getting. Keep in mind ... my recommendations above are for live performances ... not recording sessions. Cheers!
