Thanks for pointing it out. Unfortunately, the background noise was intense during the shooting, with multiple bassists playing and amplified voices. I've isolated and cleared it up as best I can, and while I don't like putting up less-than-stellar content, this is a clean as I can get it. -Scott
The SRFF with the extended fb were neckthru, and while that extended range may not be 100% usable, it was 100% accessible. These SRD's are bolt on. I'm curious as to how that affects playability in the upper register.
I've grown tired of the current wave of Ibanez basses. I don't like their choice of electronics like the Nordie pickups, or that 3 position mid switch. I've had 2 of their more expensive basses, and I didn't like the sound of either one. One was a Soundgear SR1900 PREMIUM, and the other was a Soundgear SR2500 PRESTIGE. Not impressed by either one. The bass I've been using for quite awhile, is the GSR200 with a pair of DiMarzio DP126 pickups. It has the "Boom" control as well, and that works really well with the Dimarzio pickups. Neck is perfect, and the sound is awesome for a passive bass. I paid $185.99 at Guitar Center for the GSR200.
When will IBANEZ use alder or ash for the body instead of mahogany? I've owned three IBANEZ basses (currently one) and I've loved them all. And I'm def looking at the multiscale but please, some different tone woods would be nice. Thanks.
They do have a few basses made with ash. There's an EHB with an ash body, the btb premiums have ash bodies, and the Gary Willis signature models have ash bodies too.
They look like the same body style with different paint. Not crazy about it. I have 2 basses from Ibanez. Both single cuts, one a hollow body. I dont care much for the body style of these. They all look the same. Just saying.
you held up the bass to the camera & I leaned way back to get away from the screen =/ did I mention LAME non pointy never going to spend my money on those
Seriously =/ who cares about the pickups! Look at those Monstrosities = LAME and NOT POINTY = I would NOT buy any of those - Someone in their company loves a Falic looking horn =/
Pickups are very important so it's good that they go over them. Not everyone likes pointy horns. They're not very popular currently and have never really been a big thing for Ibanez basses.
